OOC---Update

Hey guys!! So like, I know I’ve been 100% Gone here for quite a while, but honestly I’d really like to get back into RP ;u; Finals are coming up and life has been super hectic so I’m still probably gonna be spotty as heck around here, but if anyone would be up for starting something up with me feel free to shoot me a message or an ask! I might be making a multi-muse blog soon, but Jude is still my primary muse.

“All right,” he replied. Jude was admittedly a bit reluctant to leave the warmth of his makeshift cocoon of blankets, but nevertheless he stood up, stretching his arms over his head for a moment when he did. His host was obviously pretty disgruntled by the blackout, so he hoped this might lighten the mood a bit.

“What do we have to work with?” he asked absently as he walked over to join Alvin in the kitchen. He didn’t have the best eyesight in the world, especially now considering how dark it was, but he squinted at the array as he took up a spot beside the older man.

Making sandwiches was hardly the most exciting thing, but with Alvin, even something simple like that felt oddly special. It was embarrassing to think, after knowing him for all of a day, but given the circumstances, he didn’t think it was that strange to feel like that. 

Well, even if it was, he supposed the sentiment was still the same.

He had, yes, but that didn’t necessarily mean Alvin wanted to deal with having no power or heat. Just because he had lived a good portion of his life in a country with erratic climates didn’t mean he particularly liked going through the extremes at either end. There were perks, of course, to being snowed in with no power. A warm fireplace, comfy blankets, a beautiful woman to snuggle up to while watching the snow fall outside the window.

Except he didn’t have a fireplace.

And the beautiful woman was a young boy.

And nope, he wasn’t going to let his mind go in that direction.

Scrubbing his head agitatedly, Alvin gave a frustrated growl before going to the cupboards to try and make something edible. Looking back, he wished he picked up more ready-made stuff as opposed to box foods. He collected some jars and set them out on the counter, grateful that he had at least had the one battery powered nightlight in the kitchen.

No use grousing about it now… May as well make good of a bad situation.

“Hey, you wanna come help make us some gourmet sandwiches?”

It’s getting late; of all the luck. The apartment was warm enough, at least, that it should be fine for a while even without power, though it didn’t seem very likely that it would be back on anytime soon. Tonight's supposed to be the worst of the storm, though, he reminded himself almost hopefully, glancing in Alvin’s direction despite the dim light making it difficult to really see him.

He couldn’t imagine what it was like outside, for the city to have a blackout. At least here, there were still four walls and a roof to keep out the elements, even if they were a bit inconvenienced, but anyone stuck out there... it was hardly a pleasant thing to think about. 

“At least you prepared for this to happen, right?” he joked, pulling the blanket next to him over his shoulders. 

“Summers are just as bad. I swear I’ve seen poles melting before.” A joke, but sometimes it got so hot in Trigleph that his wares would thaw before he got them to market. Those days, he did his best to stay in Hamil; the climate was far more mild on that side of the border.

Alvin came to stand behind the couch, leaning against the back as he spoke to his guest. “I’m not saying go back to a bad situation, but it wouldn’t hurt to look at other options—” He was about to say that he wasn’t going to force him out onto the street either, but was swiftly cut off by the lights suddenly going out around with the an audible buzz.

There was a pause, then a slieu of curses in old Elympion that went completely above Jude’s head. Alvin swifted into the bathroom, pulling open the breaker box and checking for any that could have been tripped. None were, and a quick peek out the window proved they weren’t the only one in the dark.

“Are you serious right now?” Alvin muttered, sighing as he flipped the oven off just in case the power came back suddenly. They’d be having sandwiches for dinner, it seemed. Just what he needed; power outage in a blizzard with a homeless kid on his couch.

Well, better inside than out.

Video games:   TALES, Final Fantasy VII and VIII, Pokemon, Fable II and III, Skyrim, Okami, Legend of Zelda (especially Windwaker and Twilight Princess!!), Harvest Moon, Rune Factory, and Breath of Fire are a few of my faves!

Sports: I’m not a sporty person haha. AT ALL. I like walking/hiking and I play instruments, so there’s that.
