chris is sprawled on his bed, his phone glowing in the dim lighting of his room as you sleep soundly beside him, the blankets snugly tucked beneath your chin. he lies above the covers, his back resting against the headboard, chest bare, with sweatpants hanging loosely on his hips, the fabric slipping slightly when he shifts.
his fingers mindlessly play with his bottom lip while the other scrolls through his instagram feed, filled with posts from his frat brothers, favourite music artists, and an occasional random update from familiar faces.
when he hears the soft rustle of your movements, his head rolls to the side, watching as you adjust your position, breathing steadily through your nose, and your cheek sinking deeper into the plush pillows.
chris takes a moment to stare at you; his gaze lingering on your peaceful face — the way your lashes rest on your cheeks, how your eyes flutter beneath closed eyelids, and how your lips are slightly parted, pressed against the soft fabric of the pillow.
an uncomfortable feeling settles in his chest, stirring a mix of unfamiliar emotions. he scrunches up his nose and tears his gaze away — only to find himself drifting back to you, his tongue pressing against his cheek.
