Presentation of my selected work for a critical tutorial with the lecturers. Work of Fraser Taylor influenced my monoprints that have limited colours. I selcted a few soft pastel drawing that I think are the strongest.

Sound is very important part of our experience of the outer and as well as inner world. When making a video installation this element should not be taken lightly because it can change our perception of the artwork.

Some inspiration found on an abandoned builging site. Looks like some builder dropped his hoodie into a concrete mixer

Polygnotos Vagis was a sculptor born in 1892 in Potamia on the island of Thassos. In 1911 he emigrated to U.S., and was trained in New York at the Fine Arts Institute in sculpture. All his life he worked in New York, and only 2 years before his death in 1965 he returned to his home country of Greece. He bequethed all his works to the people and government of Greece. I visited the Polygnotos Vagis Museum in Potamia. His figurative sculptures are inspired by myths and depict human and animal body. Along well-executed realistic busts in bronze there are less-defined stone heads and animal motifs with clear tribal or primitive art and antique influences. I like the round heads which remind me of the Moon personification. His works are in collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum or the Brooklyn Museum in New York.

Soft-pastel drawings referencing Hirst's installation A Thousand Years. Another influence is the work of Basquiat - expressive mark-making, child-like style.

I had the chance to see Picasso's masterpiece Guernica in Reina Sofía in Madrid earlier this year. The achromatic huge painting executed in cubist style is moving. The fear and suffering is tangible, the chaos overwhelming. Ghostly human heads, a grin of death in the disembodied head, human and animal mouths gaping in screams. This disturbing painting is an inspiration for my animals' project.

More expressive style, trying to create an expression of fear and death. I am going to look into the cubism. This style depicts the objects in a distorted way, somewhat disturbing, and could be perfect to convey the phrnomena like cruelty, death, and suffering.

Chickens are another animal specie greatly suffering in overcrowded halls and ruthlessly slaughtered in factories on a mass scale. These are lucky to see the sunlight and peck worms in my uncle's garden. A great subject for observational drawings.

While cycling along the river Leven. These cows are lucky to be grazing in the fresh air. Millions of animals suffer in 'concentration capms' before being slaughtered on industrial scale. Concerned with animal welfare and rights, I plan to develop work that would highlight the issues in this industry.
