HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE 2020
HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE 2020
I think we can all agree that 2020 has been the most bizarre year most of us have ever experienced, but that doesn’t mean we don’t deserve some holiday joy to pick us up off the couch to open up a few prezzies. Hell, we do deserve it. Isolated for months, ruining our plans for EVERYTHING…you deserve bonus points for putting up with this mess. So, here is my holiday survival gift guide for…

Mellow Yellow
Yellow has never been an easy color for me in particular to wear well. We have had a love/hate relationship for years, mostly dependent on what color my hair was and if I had gotten any sun. Even though, I have always thought that yellow was a lovely color, I have mostly admired it from afar.
Last year, when I was living my best red-headed life, I truly relished in wearing the autumnal tones…

THE TREND REPORT
THE TREND REPORT- Looks Like Teen Spirit
Looks Like TEEN SPIRIT
The ’90s were the decade of my youth. It was the time where I discovered fashion and really started to use style as a way to express who I was as a person. But isn’t that what fashion always is? A way for us to outwardly express ourselves on how we really feel on the inside?
Truthfully speaking, I would like to be bias based solely on the fact that this decade…

EDGE OF THIRTY FIVE
EDGE OF THIRTY FIVE
Thirty Five. I cannot quite comprehend why this age seems so significant to me, but it does. Lately, I have touched upon the subject in a few of my Instagram posts which allude to some personal reasons why, but here I am…another year older.
We have all heard the saying…. you know the one. “Age is nothing but a number,” which yes… in some aspects rings true. Sure, I still feel quite young and…

BLUE VELVET
While I love wearing dresses, skirts and getting all dolled up, I always feel most comfortable in a cute top and jeans. Layering it with cute kimonos, sweaters or most recently this amazing blazer is a great way to add variety to the wardrobe.
The minute I set my eyes on this blazer, I fell in love. As most of you know, my wardrobe and style is heavily influenced by the ’70s. When I slipped into…

Wrapped Up in Fall
Wrapped Up in Fall
“Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains? Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?” Ahh, yes the beauty of the season has inspired me to sing one of my favorite Disney classics.
With that being sung, the following post has plenty of warm autumnal tones to showcase. Once again, most of my outfit is from my favorite retailer, Free People. At this point, I should probably own stock…

HEAR ME ROAR
I am going to get real with you for a minute. It has been a hell of a couple weeks, but I am here. I am pushing through it and I am THRIVING, because just like all my ladies, we are warriors. Getting back into blogging and styling has been truly therapeutic for myself. Diving back into my creative spirit and being able to share these fun tips and ideas with you has always been one of my…

STARRY-EYED
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
As I am typing this blog out, Meatloaf’s Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through is playing out in my head. I always loved that song and anything Meatloaf sang. Endless hours were spent in my very short driveway, during my grade school years…choreographing rollerskating routines to most of the Bat Out of Hell II album. I specifically remember my mother taking me to the department…

On The Fringe
Autumn is in the air. While the smell of pumpkin spice lattes and apple pie have put us into sensory euphoria, our closets have been converted in preparation for the cooler months to come. My summer summer dresses and kimonos have been packed away and replaced with suede jackets, boots and cozy knit sweaters. Of course, this is a welcome change, because my love for Fall is like no other.
Growing…

We all have those days where we look into our closet and mumble, “I have nothing to wear.” You know you have said it, but yet you know this was stated while staring at a rack full of clothing that simply didn’t appeal to you in that moment.  It’s a fact that what we wear day to day is based on emotion. No matter how convincing your spouse, partner or friend can be in telling you how good you might look, sometimes it might just come down to how you feel as you also factor in comfort.. As for myself, my go-to outfit almost always contains a pair of my favorite jeans and a cute top.
Industry stylists always claim that having a classic “LBD”, otherwise known as the little black dress can be the perfect go to for any occasion when fretting over what to wear. I tend to shy away from that style tip when giving advice. Why? Black is boring and altho many might seem black may be a universal color, it is not. For those fair-skin friends of mine, ( including myself) black can be a harsh contrast against our lighter skin, causing it to wash us out. I always encourage those who ask to lean towards more colorful options, starting with something less daring such as navy to a bolder spectrum of reds and pinks.
Obviously, during the summer months, while color is always on trend, another less colorful shade comes out to play, white. But, do you remember that old labor day rule? The one that states white should only be worn between the months of Memorial Day and Labor Day. Well if you haven’t heard, you can read it here. That rule is over! That is right! What once existed as a fashion trend to differentiate between the upper and lower classes in the 1800s and broken by trend setters such as Chanel can now be worn all year round.
Now although, the limitations have been lifted, white does seem to trickle back into style during the warmer seasons. Nothing else is as quite complimentary to that beautiful summer tan as white can be. With my go-to outfit starting out with a pair of my favorite high waist jeans (Check out MADEWELL. They fit SO WELL), now it’s time to shop for the perfect white blouse. Perhaps, and off the shoulder, or cute peplum. With so many options, it’s hard to decide. Scroll down below for more styles to choose from. Happy Shopping! xoxo

BRAND NEW YEAR
HELLO AGAIN! HAPPY NEW YEAR!  After a much needed break from blogging over the Fall, I am ready to start fresh this new year. The break has left me feeling re-invigorated to do what I love but focus on my own goals this time. As with any profession or career, we all learn as we go and can certainly learn from the mistakes we made along the way. Along those lines, this coming year marks my 10th…

FALL FASHION 2017: MADEWELL
FALL FASHION 2017: MADEWELL
SKIRT: MADEWELL TOP: MADEWELL JACKET: OLD (SIMILAR) BOOTS: OLD (SIMILAR) Fall is in the air. Ok. Maybe that is a teeny bit of a stretch, but fall fashion has certainly taken over the racks at our favorite stores. Being born and raised on the east coast, I could give you a hundred reasons why Fall has always been my favorite season. During my childhood, the anticipation of starting anew each…

CALIFORNIA DREAMIN': BIG SUR
CALIFORNIA DREAMIN’: BIG SUR
Photos can not even come close to showing the true spectacular beauty of Big Sur. The region consists of a 76 mile stretch between Carmel and San Simeon and is known to be the longest and most scenic stretch of undeveloped coastline in the contiguous United States. Most of the area is protected by the government, so much of the land is uninhabited. With very few tourist accommodations available,…

CALIFORNIA DREAMIN': MUIR BEACH
CALIFORNIA DREAMIN’: MUIR BEACH
Swimsuit shopping. It’s the worst! If I had to pick two things that I absolutely abhor shopping for, they would be jeans and swimsuits. Whether it’s the awful dressing room lighting or that salty snack you ate earlier that makes you feel and look like a bloatation device, neither experience usually screams fun!  So this year, I did my shopping online and discovered this cute one piece and fell in…

CALIFORNIA DREAMIN' : CASA LAGUNA
CALIFORNIA DREAMIN’ : CASA LAGUNA
Our first stop on the Cali tour was Laguna Beach. To be honest, I am going to take a moment to obsess about how the show (Laguna Beach) was a total guilty pleasure back in my college days. Reality tv was just starting to become a thing and it was a great way for me to relax and ignore the massive amounts of schoolwork I had piling on. I just couldn’t resist. That beef between LC (later on was…

California Dreamin': MUIR WOODS
California Dreamin’: MUIR WOODS
We all have that one place we most want to visit on our bucket list and for me, that place has always been California. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to go there. The post college plan was to move to Southern California and land a job as a tv reporter. I told everyone my plan. My graduation party was basically the bon voyage to California party. I had plans to move in with a…

Dress for the Life You Want to Live
Dress for the Life You Want to Live
Ever heard of the saying, “Dress for the job you want?” Luckily, my career in news takes place behind the scenes where I have more freedom to choose and wear what I want. Without the restrictions of a dress code, my own personal style is allowed to shine through without limitations. But let’s stop for just a minute and pause to reflect on what our ideal job or lifestyle would be. Do you daydream?…
