Oh hell yeah! Another dragoncore blog! Have you ever been on one of those glider rides at fairs? Where you're on your stomach and they spin you around slowly and you go up in the air? It feels like flying!

Do dragons have to be organized? I see y'all with neat hordes in boxes and it kinda makes.me ashamed that my executive dysfunction has buried my horde under a mess in my room that even now it's hard to get myself motivated to clean up.

I hope they don't have to be organized! The main reason I haven't posted a picture of my hoard yet is that it's scattered to hell and back. Don't worry about being neat, just be dragon!

Hi yes hello. I see that you too are a dragon lover like myself. I'm super curious as to what dragoncore means and what it is. I've only just now heard of it and i'm really curious.

Hi there! Yes, I definitely love dragons haha

Dragoncore is basically an aesthetic, or a way of carrying yourself. It’s part of the core community here on tumblr that’s shared with our friends like corvidcore, crowcore, clowncore, ghostcore, and a ton of others!

Some of the main ideals of dragoncore in particular are collections(or hoards!), often of shiny things we found, lounging around in comfort, some medieval aesthetics, nature and things like that. We’re often thought of as the middle ground between goblincore and crowcore.

Basically, dragoncore is whatever you want it to be for you! Some people like sticking their head out the window of the car like they’re flying. Some people make nests to stay comfortable in. It all depends on what you want to make it! For me, dragoncore means not caring what other people think, keeping the things I love close to me, being comfortable and happy, and, yknow, wanting to live in a castle or a pretty forest and live out my life surrounded by pretty flowers and shiny objects that I found. Basically, refined collectors that don’t care about what other people think and want to eat the rich. That’s us!

Castlecore and dragoncore are closely related, I think. I want a castle. I want to hear my scales rustling through tapestried halls, my claws clicking against the polished floor of the ballroom.

To me, dragoncore is about luxurious self-expression. Do what makes you happy and take no shit, because your stuff is shiny and you can burn down your haters. Your hoard sounds awesome! Black dragons for the win!

This is gonna sound weird but like.. is it normal to be a goth dragoncore? Like I don’t really connect with the crows that much but my hoard/style is very... Tim Burton meets Smaug?? I don’t know.

Well, I can't exactly say what's normal when I'm just making it up as I go along. But I say you do you! Take the aesthetic and twist it to be yours! It's not something with set rules, being a certain way isn't mandatory. Just take it and run with it! You're bound to end up somewhere! Also your hoard is incredibly valid!

It absolutely counts. If they're shiny, even under specific circumstances, they count.

I don’t have a collection though- I have a buncha rocks everywhere but most of them are lake rocks that get dull when they’re not underwater so I’m not sure if it counts,

How did you get into dragoncore? Why do you consider yourself a dragon?

Oh! This is a fun question. I got into dragoncore because I stumbled across goblincore somehow, and then one of the goblincore blogs I followed mentioned it. I saw the word "dragoncore" and fell in love. Dragons have been a passion of mine for years, because they're awesome.

I consider myself part of the dragoncore community because I hoard things. Not indiscriminately, I don't see a shiny thing and grab it, I hoard specific things. (I should post pics of my hoards....) Polyhedral dice are one of my favorites, as well as a specific brand of hair clips (a lot that I can't even use because my hair is much shorter than it used to be.)

I also really like fire. It's cool.
