Tzitzimime

Those are monstrous mexica deity (Aztecs) associated with stars. They were depicted as skeletal female figures who wants the humanity destruction. In Postconquest descriptions they are often described as "demons" or "devils". They always try to destroy the Sun in the dawn or sunset and those are more powerful on eclipse.

That´s one of several reasons why the aztecs needed blood offerings to the Gods: to preserve our Sun.

“Remember me”.

There´s no doubt I like Halloween and sexy witches but this time I was thinking in something more traditional, as in my country do. And I remember I never post something in furry style before.

Inspiration? There´s a lot where I live: lots & lots of flowers of cempazuchitl (marigold), candles, offerings, ladies in white dresses, skull face painting and of course the graveyard visits to our friends, family or some lost love.

Also I remember Disney´s COCO movie and those wonderful guitars, did you know? My father was also a singer, composer & player guitar! So, I think that was enough to get the idea for this year.

Even if I´m a bit late “Happy Day of Dead” Holyday!!

I love drawing fantastic creatures and I like the stories by writer H. P. Lovecraft, so it was a matter of time to make this piece. Obviously inspired by the tale “The Call of Cthulhu”, described a group of sailors awakening by mistake the mighty monster, running for their lives.

I´m so sure you already know it.

The story inspired another stories, tales, board games, video games, drawings, sculptors, musicians, and several artists. I just join the party too. And take it as personal challenge.

“Cita zombie”

Ella juró no volver al cine con más tipos interesados, hasta salir con un verdadero hombre que sólo la quisiera por su cerebro. Es bueno saber que el Amor verdadero aún existe.

Una imagen que hice hace unos años y que aprovechando mi nueva versión Photoshop quise redibujar, expresiones, efectos, etc..

El pretexto para hacerla en su momento fué muy bobo, surgió cuando ví una película llamada "Mi novio es un Zombie". Al final como es de esperarse me decepcioné, pues yo esperaba ver a un cadáver agusanado buscando sesos y al final dejaron a un emo que se asquea al comer carne (¿Que le han hecho al cine moderno de terror?). Y pues bueno, supongo que en mi versión él se ve podridamente adorable.

The final fate of San Lucas (4th version)

Well, I lost count about the times I modify and fix this image every time I found it in my old archives (It´s 4th but not sure). I simply add and change several elements like background, lights, shadows or just a redraw. I remember the original image was just the ship. A simply artwork for an infographic magazine about one of the first galleon build in the New Spain (actually Mexico). I was bored and after the publishing I add different things and from that point. Hey! I like sea monsters too! I never was happy with the result until now. Well, maybe next year I will fix it again… xD

Also, it reminds me about “The Death of Superman” (2018) animated movie, the battle with WonderWoman vs Doomsday.And yeah, yeah... characters are copyrighted & belongs to DC, etc... because he´s BATMAAAN !!!xD

Cuando un gigante ataca tu ciudad, la respuesta es muy simple… para enfrentar a un titán que mejor que titanes (¿De la lucha libre?). Por cierto, si Santo y Blue Demon han enfrentado Vampiras, mujeres lobos, marcianos y no recuerdo que tanto más, seguro un grandulón así va para la lista de mostros derrotados. Como curiosidad, el edificio atrás es el World Trade Center de la CDMX, donde se celebra la MOLE ComiCon, una de las convenciones de cómics más grandes del País. Y donde llevaré por primera vez ésta imagen.

Seh… tomé elementos de la serie de anime Shingeki no Kyojin (Ataque a los Titanes). Seh... pensé en dibujar a Blue Demon haciéndole un martinete al Titán (?). Seh… hasta pensé en dibujar a Trumph como el Titán con eso de que quiere poner muros…

Luchador invitado: AZRAEL, originario de Zacatecas y ahijado del famoso luchador FRAY TORMENTA, con quienes tengo amistad.

EL SANTO Una imagen que hice hace bastante tiempo y que le tengo especial afecto, tanto que quería repintarlo casi en totalidad. La imagen fué hecha para la exposición "Santo de mi devoción" consta de más de 70 piezas en homenaje al Enmascarado de Plata, realizadas por los dibujantes de cómic e ilustradores más importantes de México. Conmemorando casi 35 años del fallecimiento de EL SANTO, el enmascarado de plata. Actualmente la exposición sigue viajando a varios estados del País. Para quienes no lo conozcan, en México los luchadores son vistos como una especie de héroes a ojos de los niños, imagina entonces cuando sabes que el más grande de todos los clásicos a peleado contra Drácula, el Hombre-lobo, Frankestein, mujeres vampiro, zombis, momias, chicas lobas y hasta marcianos. (Wooow!!!) Si a esto le agregamos que podías verlo directamente en las arenas muchos lo consideramos el mejor superhéroe de ficción. Tuvo varios campeonatos, ganó varias máscaras, salieron cómics y filmó unas 60 películas entre los años 50´s a los 80´s. ¿Como no considerarlo una Leyenda? #Magolobo #Santo #Werewolf #Vampiro #LuchaLibre #Momia

My favorite & personal character.

This Angie Witch was made for a special occasion. They told me to do a personal character who represent me for the publishing & Con merchandizing, and who´s better like her? I must say only this time probably I could add some drawing style influence from my pal & friend eltonpot In Mexico City we have a very competitive Comic Conventions in International size (The MOLE Comicon International is a good example). But suddenly another one long ago vanished several years ago, the “CONQUE” rises again announcing a list of special guests national & international in a different city in Querétaro (MEX). People like: Agnes Garbowska (“My Little Pony”), Amanda Conner (“Harley Quinn”), Arthur Adams (“Monkeyman and O’Brien”), C.B. Cebulski (Marvel’s Talent Scout), Darryl Mc Daniels (“DMC”, “Darryl Makes Comics”), Enrique Breccia (“Lovecraft”), Jim Cheung (“Young Avengers”), Jimmy Palmiotti (“Punisher”), Mark Brooks (Star Wars: Han Solo”), Sara Pichelli (“Ultimate Spider-Man”), Sergio Aragonés, and more. And the national talented guest another unbelievable list too (including me, I´m still amazed) But the top for me were J. Scott Campbell (“Danger Girl”), Joe Madureira “Joe Mad". Oh, wait did we mention Stan Lee too? REALLY? The event was in May 2017. And no doubt was one of the very best Conventions here. An honor to be there.

Art for La MOLE CON Word Trade Center, México City. November 7, 8, 9 / 2014 The new theme for the Official ArtBook CON is the great Marvel´s Venom. I really appreciate they invited me! All we know about this character about his long Comic stories as Spiderman’s Black suit and the different hosts like Mac Gargan and recently Flash Thompson, but in my personal opinion Eddie Brock was the best. I remember the very first time I see Venom, he eats a little spider in the dark as a idea about his antagonism with Spiderman. So it´s a tribute.

One of the hallmarks of any good hero is teamwork, and when two super powered individuals work together the results can be devastating to their foes. Here is one such example. Slipstream is a master aerokinetic while Ember is a powerful pyrokinetic. Should the need arise to have a large area cleared completely due to an infestation or other dangerous elements, the two have practiced and honed the ability to create a massive fire tornado. Able to completely scour the landscape and yet be entirely within their control, it is an extremely powerful attack indeed. I'm willing to bet though that they're not allowed to use it within city limits.
