Lily was usually surrounded by friends, but on a rare occasion she did want some peace. And with the Gryffindor Common Room being absolute chaos, more thanks to the Marauders, she needed that peace now more than ever. “Sorry, I can go if you’d like. I was actually just planning on hanging out around here to read.” She showed her a book, a muggle one, though it really was hard to tell the difference. Her mother was often sending her copies of muggle books she’d been reading and wanted to continue the series of after she’d gone to Hogwarts. “Unless you don’t mind me joining you? I’ll be quiet.”

seth shifts uncomfortably. if he’s being honest, he doesn’t know if she cares or not. he has a hard time deciphering the difference between what people say and what they actually mean. the curtain is often too thick for him to see through, and it generally leads to him ignoring these kind of situations altogether. the fear of making a fool of himself has the boy not doing anything, which in turn sometimes leads him to situations like these. clearing his throat, it takes a moment for him to even look at her. what was he supposed to say? it seems that assuming one cares is just as bad as assuming that they don’t. why is there no safe middle ground? he’d honestly pay so much for the ground to swallow him whole right now. ❛ i... don’t know what i should say just now... ❜

there’s arguing going on around adrian, and he couldn’t look more bored. the whole back and forth, the wasted energy on things that don’t matter, it’s beyond him how half the student population can function on a day to day basis. instead of sticking around, he turns on his heels and almost runs into an approaching hufflepuff. ❛ watch where you’re going, smith. my shoes are worth more than your entire wardrobe. ❜
