Byler in the Trailers for Stranger Things

(part one: seasons 1 and 2)

all the stranger things trailers basically revolve around byler dude its crazy

Some things I want to say before getting into it:

1) I'm only going to talk about just the trailers available on netflix right now, no teasers/recaps

2) In the trailers, they almost always manage to have some dialogue or a snippet of one of byler's heart-to-hearts included (I'll reference back to this when it occurs), this applies to more than one so I wanted to say it here

3) I had to break this up into multiple parts cause it is too long :)

Stranger Things 1 (Trailer)

first two people who talk are mike and will (this applies to the show as well AND the first two characters we see talk one-on-one are mike and will)

when the boys are looking for will, mike says this, which isn't in the actual show - this is too funny bro we get to see what he was actually thinking in this moment - not how his lifes just started but how this random ass girl isnt will 💀 (i love el, his thinking not mine lol)

"[Mike] That's not Will."

when we hear mike talking in the trailer, its usually about will (these are all the times he talks, theres literally ONE TIME he isnt talking to or about will (7th one - "You're in trouble, aren't you?"))

STOP THE SUBTITLES CALL HIM HOOPER 😭😭😭

2. Stranger Things 2 (Trailer)

Mike always talking about will again (also 1st one is the first time we hear someone talk AGAIN)

the heart-to-hearts inclusion (dialogue and snippets from both)

"Maybe all of this is happening for a reason." "[Will] They don't understand."

also it's interesting they use the instance in this heart-to-heart where el is referenced.

"Eleven would. She always did."

notice: mike refers to her as "eleven", which he often does when talking to will about her - he even does this in s4 with this scene:

"Maybe Eleven would've taken me with her and things would be different, but..."

its weird that around will he doesn't want to refer to his gf/future gf in a loving way at all, not even saying her nickname that literally everyone refers to her as, including will. he could have easily said "el" in season 4 cause will LITERALLY ONLY REFERS TO HER AS THAT. and like... he could also have easily called her el in s2 as well?? will would still have known who you were talking about. or you could have TOLD HIM that that's her nickname.

I think one thing that makes Byler so distinct is the way that they complete each other’s thoughts without even trying.

“You know on a- a view-master when it gets, like…” “…caught between two slides?”

“We can’t take any chances. We need to assume the worst. The Mind Flayer is back.” “Yeah. And if he is, he���d want to attach himself to someone again.”

“Well, no, it’s not just a video game, it’s a video game console.” “It’s basically America’s answer to Nintendo.”

“Some sort of facility.” “A fence, a building.”

“Are you really questioning Suzie, right now?” “She’s a genius, Jonathan.”

Seriously, you could read these quotes one after the other and assume that they came from the same person. They’re like couplet statements then clarifications. And they do it all the time in season 4. I wonder if this is a subtle reason why Byler had a rise in popularity after s4 - they’re so in sync without even trying (couple behavior)!

I only just realized that in season three, Mike was like “hey why are you donating your D&D books? How will you play?” And Will just basically went “There is no point in playing D&D without you, so I just won’t play until we see each other again, and i’ll use yours.”

and then Mike went and joined a new D&D group while Will was gone.
