Hi i’m going to be emotionally compromised over the fact that Yang’s arm was what protected her from Adam’s final blow in episode 11. 

RWBY has consistently shown us her character growth in regards to her dealing with the physical and emotional trauma of losing her arm in such a real and relatable way.

 We’ve seen her shut herself away and go through a lot of soul searching, we’ve seen her learn to adapt her life and fighting style to her new situation, we’ve seen that she still deals with her emotional trauma on a daily basis by her hand tremors. We’ve seen her start to grow and shine again. To utilize her new abilities and her new strengths. 

They gave us a main character huntress who doesn’t ignore she’s disabled and more importantly to me they gave me a huntress who didn’t immediately and unrealistically accept her disability. They took the time to create and flesh out a really important story for Yang; a story that shows that yeah she’s pissed but that there’s also a lot more that she can do and that she was able to adapt and grow.

By allowing her to be a disabled huntress whose complex and complete, whose work and is still working through traumas, they’ve allowed me to be able to see myself in a hero and that’s really special to me. And I admire and applaud how they’ve written her journey so far.

i just can’t get over how perfect the weasley family’s presents were to harry and ron on their seventeenth birthdays, even though superficially they’re the same thing

ron, who grew up poor and often got hand-me-downs from his brothers, got a brand new watch - he probably wasn’t that used to getting new things

whereas harry, who never really had much of a family history to connect to, got molly’s brother fabian’s watch, something with a lot of history and personal connection behind it that linked him to and made him a part of the weasley family

Don’t let people make fun of you for liking japanese culture.

I am living in japan right now and let me tell ya:

There are people here who can’t speak or understand English who play nothing but Missy elliot and ludacris, even in businesses like housing offices and restaurants.

There are people who have cowboy hats and dead cow skulls in their home because they idolize what they assume American homes are like.

There are people who learn English strictly through music videos and American television shows.

There are entire karaoke bars with english songs often sung by people who have no idea what the lyrics mean.

Japan often takes American shows like the powerpuff girls and make japanese versions of them.

They often mistake common Americans for celebrities. I have been mistaken for Micheal jordan, tiger woods, Shaquille o'neal, Tyler perry, and saddest of all: queen latifa.

The act of sprinkling English into your japanese sentences is considered cute and cool and is popular with teenagers. Bonus points if you happen to use it correctly.

Japanese stores sell shirts with english on them and people buy them not knowing that most of those word combinations are nonsense.

Don’t let someone shame you for singing an anime opening, using japanese in your sentences, wearing clothing with japanese on it, ect. If anything, this is just one more thing that you have in common with them.
