Informational Texts
1. The main point of this informational text is about the first female player that won a prize in the football league. The main point is initially illustrated in the example, “thirteen year old Karlie Harman becomes the first girl to win Player of the Year in a Washington D.C. area youth”. The main point further develops throughout the article. It starts off by giving background information about Karlie and then it explains about the history of Karlie in this field. It then starts talking about some of the obstacles she faced and it finishes of by explaining about her future plans like opening her own clothing company.
2. Purpose: The purpose of this article is to inform us about one of the many inspirational characters, Karlie Harman. The author was successful in communicating this purpose. It was successful because she gave me introduction about the topic so I wasn’t lost about anything. I also liked that it introduced how she got to win this competition. One of the comments I would have is that the author didn’t talk much about Karlie’s participation in the actual competition and focused more on her passion of this sport.
Organization: I would say that the text was pretty organized because it started off with a descriptive title that grabs our attention. I also liked that there were pictures in the article and that the article was divided into subtitles. Having subtitles made it much easier for me to understand this article. In addition to that I liked that the paragraphs were short and it didn’t overwhelm me.
Argument: The author’s argument was about a teenager female that was able to win first place in a football league. I think the author had a strong argument because she had background information about the topic and she divided it into smaller ideas. I think the author had some weaknesses in her argument becuse she didn’t talk much about the main competition. She also didn’t have an actual conclusion that wrapped up her ideas.
3. Where was the article posted? This is important because it shows the credibility of the article and if it could be a source who should rely on or not. What is the article based on? Whether an article was based on opinions or facts and actual events makes a complete difference in the reliability of an article.
4. I think the article is reliable because the text was based on actual facts and events. The author gave many examples that showed her knowledge of the topic. I would say it is also reliable because the author had quotes from people related to Karlie, like her mother when she said “ she was born with sneakers on” and this added to the overall reliability of the article.

Opinion On Social Media
Many people have the idea that Social Media is a time waster instilled in their mind. I think it’s not Social Media that has disadvantages, it’s a person’s actions on Social Media that are wrong. I was one of those people that thought Social Media was huge time-waster but using Tumblr for an English project changed my perspective an taught me that that anything can be helpful and advantageous when used in a right and advantageous way. I enjoyed showing my opinion in different ways and listening and arguing with other classmates’ opinions. I acquired lots of new skills, like how to analyze characters and how to respectively argue with a person. I also learned that two opposing opinions could both be right based on how a person views things. I also think that this project helped me improve my writing a lot by reading another person’s post and learning from it. Overall I think that this project is an example that Social Media can actually be educating, useful and fun if used in the proper way.

Opinions on the characters of                      the book
Christopher:
I find that Christopher is a very inspirational character not only because he tries to overcome his adversities but, also because he is very ambitious. Christopher’s character taught me that nothing is impossible despite our weaknesses and deficiencies. He shows us that regardless of his syndrome he was able to exceed standards in math and science and, is planning on taking the A-levels. I don't think that it is reasonable to blame Christopher for his faults and mistakes as he lacks the kind of logic we have. Since he suffers from Aspergers Syndrome, he behaves and acts in ways that we find strange. For example, when he knew about his mother being alive and that his father was lying he got sick and went to sleep. I previously thought that Christopher was being very calm with this situation but when I considered his disorder I found out that this was his way of reacting to such terrible news and it was really devastating to him.
Father:
I support Father for his actions as I think that whatever he did was a just a good intention for the well being of his son. I sympathize with father for his decision to hide the letters because I think that Christopher would have been really devastated if he knew that his mother left him, especially considering his condition. I think by hiding those letters he kept a bit of respect, that Mother does not even deserve, as he left a good image of her in Christopher’s mind. I think father was planning on showing Christopher the letters; he was just looking for the perfect time. The way i would support this, is that if Father was not planning on showing them to Christopher why did he keep them in the first place? I also don’t blame Father when he get’s angry with Christopher because, I think that any person would get impatient and exhausted from having to deal with a child that suffers from such a syndrome an to be honest Father has done a really great job dealing with Christopher.
Mother:
The only character that I actually don’t like is Mother. She appears to be a very careless person. What kind of mother would leave her disabled child because she thought he would be happier without her? I totally disagree with her because I think Christopher needed her care in his life. She appeared to not like the idea of having to take care of a disabled child as she used to hit him and above all that, she left him when he needed her desperately. I don’t support her decision at all and I think that it was an irresponsible of her.

I think you misunderstood my point, I don’t claim that social media is a reliable source of information. I just claimed that your actions on social media not only represent you as a person it also represents your country. What I meant of representing our country was not posting pictures but I meant sharing events and ceremonies and spreading our culture. I also think that people don’t necessarily ONLY spread good images of their country. So i have to disagree with you when you said that people only put positive things about their country on social media. An example of what I just said is that a couple of months ago an Emirati posted a video of himself doing stunts with his car and not using his car appropriately. Lots of people commented saying that people from the UAE don't know how to drive, which is obviously not true.
To be honest whatever post you make is your responsibility and people would know you for that. For example if a president or ruler used twitter to post about something you would not say a president tweeted this or that you would actually mention the name. I also have to disagree with your example of the pharaohs. Social media is very different from your example because no matter what you do  you cannot completely delete whatever you post. At least a few people would have read it or spread it before you can actually delete or, edit it.  I also think that you can enter history just by social media. Like for example His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, when he announced about the reading competition, I am sure that after a couple of years this will be in the students’ curriculum. Even the Emirati martyrs it would probably enter the History books because of Social Media as very few people actually watch the news. In addition, the boy Ahmed, that was accused of having a bomb, I think his case would enter History books. Even though not many news channels mentioned his case.
In conclusion, I think that a person’s actions represents his country on Social Media and that people on Social Media could actually be part of history and leave an impact in the world.
Impact of Social Media
Social Media is a new, developed way of communicating and sharing information amongst friends, family, and other people online. Social media makes us aware of everything happening around in the world. We become more connected to the world around us. Other than it bringing family together and helping us socialize, what are other ways Social Media helps us connect with the world around us?
On Social Media each person becomes a representative of his/her country. We find ourselves learning about ceremonies or celebrations a person in Spain has. This way we learn about different countries and their different beliefs as well as spreading  a good image of our country.
On Social Media you have the opportunity to support cases happening on the other side of the world. You can get involved by providing your support. If there is any political case in a certain country you can support and leave your impact in the world.
We can also spread awareness around the world. Let’s say it is cancer awareness week you can leave your fingerprint by spreading awareness of this disease.
To conclude, social media helps a person become more involved with the world around him.

Quote
The love in our family flows strong and deep leaving us memories to treasure and keep
Anonymous
I posted this quote because this shows exactly why I disagree with Boy Willie because the piano has sentimental value to me.

Isolation
“Sometimes when I want to be on my own I get into the airing cupboard in the bathroom and slide in beside the boiler and pull the door behind me and sit there and think for hours and it makes me feel very calm”
This shows isolation because Christopher likes to isolate himself from everything happening around him and just keep to himself. He feels calmer when he is on his own.
“I didn't speak to anyone and for the whole afternoon I sat in the corner of the Library groaning with my head pressed into the join between the two walls and this made me feel calm and safe.”
This shows that Christopher likes to isolate himself and just never speak to anyone. We can infer that Christopher feels anxious around people and that he likes to isolate himself to stay calm.
“I knew that it meant "happy”[...] or when I am still awake at three or four in the morning and I can walk up and down the street and pretend that I am the only person in the world.”
This quote shows that Christopher feels happier when he is isolated from the world and prefers to stay that way as he explains that he wishes to be the only person left on Earth.
Christopher wants to be isolated but he can’t take care of himself:
i agree that there is a contradiction simply because Christopher prefers to be isolated though he his incapable of taking care of himself. his disability is the number one reason why he likes to be isolated but also can’t take care of himself. he needs people like Siobhan and Father to do the simple things in life for him.
Why does Christopher not mind dogs?
I think Christopher prefers dogs on humans because he understands them and knows what they mean. I also think that since dogs don't really give responses to Christopher it is still like being isolated.
