DESPITE IT ALL, WE HAVE EACH OTHER
no matter how much hopelessness they corner us into, they cannot stop us from taking care of each other.
somewhere to start today is by helping nada, who is less than 40% of the way towards her goal.
https://gofund.me/e06f31d3
please continue to share mutual aid, whether its in your own neighborhood or across the sea. please continue to find both what's urgent and what's beautiful in the world.
thank you always, take care.

Missouri is scheduled to execute Marcellus Williams on Sept. 24 for a crime he didn’t commit. Last week, after previously accepting an Alford plea that was subsequently blocked by the Missouri Supreme Court, St. Louis County Judge Bruce Hilton denied the request to vacate Marcellus’ conviction and death sentence, despite the prosecutor’s admission that the previous administration committed constitutional errors in his case. We need everyone’s help to call on Gov. Mike Parson to stop Missouri from killing an innocent man.
Earlier, St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell filed a motion to vacate Marcellus’ conviction because he believed forensic evidence excluded Marcellus from the crime.
Then, at an Aug. 28 evidentiary hearing, his office admitted that the prior administration had committed constitutional errors that contributed to Marcellus’ unreliable conviction and death sentence, including improperly handling the evidence in his case.
Now, Judge Hilton has denied PA Bell’s motion to vacate Marcellus’ conviction and death sentence, and the Missouri Supreme Court is moving forward with the Sept. 24 execution date.
Call Gov. Parson and urge him to stop the execution before it’s too late: 417-373-3400

Spheal Crocheted Plush Giveaway: Save Hazem's Family
Hi all, you all are familiar with Hazem (@hazempalestine) now. He is a dentistry student who left home in 2018 in order to secure a better future for his family, and has since then not returned home. His family is still living in Jabalia camp in North Gaza, where they face frequent bombardments from iof planes and drones on top of food scarcity.
He is vouched for by Bilal (@bilal-salah0) who is his childhood friend and vetted (family #281 on the vetted spreadsheet).
my friend who crocheted the Magikarp plush is back with a Spheal crocheted plush giveaway! Every entry into the raffle is €5 (if you donated €15, you would be entered into the raffle three times), so please donate for the chance to win this cute friend (roughly the size of a basketball) for yourself! Because of my friend's geographic restrictions, this raffle is open for U.S. donors only.
there's been no donations in the past 30 minutes. we desperately need to evacuate all of Hazem's family together. please donate and enter this crocheted plush raffle. share with your pokemon-loving friends too, help a family and win something in the process.
we are only halfway to the campaign goal. we cannot afford to slow down. €25,810 raised of €50,000 goal as of August 30. any donation goes a long way.
please also check out the handmade bracelet (with freshwater pearls!) raffle hosted by @a-shade-of-blue for people in the UK!

A little bit of rough Rocky animation for Season 1, by Sam Kessler and Hyrika!
There's a longer animation preview available on Patreon and for YouTube Channel Members.
------------------
We've recently opened up YouTube Channel Memberships as a Patreon alternative because, unfortunately, Apple is forcing some changes to Patreon that are likely to be detrimental to a lot of Creators in garnering new pledges.
Starting in November, Apple will be charging its 30% App Store fee on top of new pledges made through the Patreon iOS app. If you're an existing Patron, this won't affect you. You won't incur any new charges. If you're looking to sign up anew to support anyone's Patreon, though, you can bypass the extra Apple fees being charged to you or to the Creator by signing up and managing your account via desktop or mobile browser. The Lackadaisy Patreon will continue updating numerous times each month as it has always done. Still, we expect this to have an overall detrimental effect to support, especially when it comes to garnering new pledges, so we decided we best branch out a little. If you're interested in YouTube Channel Membership, visit the Lackadaisy YouTube Channel and click on the 'Join' button (next to the Subscribe button) to view a breakdown of the perks!

Hello,,
My name is Ashraf Alanqar, and I am 30 years old. My wife, Widad Issa, and I have a one-and-a-half-year-old son named Bakr. We used to live peacefully in the Al-Shuja’iya neighborhood, in a house we built just a week before the war began. I worked as a farmer and owned a large chicken farm that provided for my family.
Beloved of my heart (Bakr)
Then the war came and destroyed everything. Our home was reduced to ashes, and our chicken farm was obliterated. We lost our home, our livelihood, and even our basic rights. We've been forced to move from place to place in northern Gaza, simply trying to survive.
My House before...
Me.. while trying to recognize what has happened..
The terror we feel as we flee from heavy bombardment is unbearable. The sound of explosions around us, the constant fear as we navigate through the rubble of destroyed homes searching for safety and food, haunts us every day. My son Bakr is constantly scared and suffers from severe malnutrition and skin diseases due to the lack of food, water, and sanitation.
Our beautiful memories.. :(
We urgently need your help. I am asking for your support to fund this campaign to move my family to a safe place, provide us with a proper home, and ensure we have enough food, water, and medical care.
Baker used to play with his dog.
Your donation, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in our lives. We desperately need your support and solidarity during this difficult time. Together, we can restore hope and safety to Ashraf and his family.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering my plea. Your support means more than words can express. Together, we can turn a story of loss into a journey of hope and resilience.
With deepest gratitude,
Ashraf & the Family
