Beyond Evil Trivia

In a deleted scene that was originally in the script book, Joowon actually disappeared for a week after the scene in the rain when he confessed to Dongsik about Han Kihwan’s crimes.

Their little Manyang family was getting worried about Joowon, but Dongsik reassured them that he knew he was okay.

It turns out that Dongsik had let him stay at the Okcheon residence, the one Dongsik had inherited from Nam Sangbae.

(Amusingly, it was also revealed that Joowon spent the entire time cleaning and organizing Dongsik’s home there, with Dongsik teasing Joowon that he doesn’t seem to have mysophobia anymore with how clean the house was)

It says a lot about how despite what Joowon has just revealed, Dongsik still readily forgave and accepted him, even allowed Joowon, remarkably, to stay in his home for a whole week. It says a lot that Dongsik cared for Joowon’s well-being knowing, despite everything, that Han Kihwan was still his father.

(What happened within that week and why that scene was deleted will now be up to fans and fanart and fanfic.)

Friendly reminder that behind the scenes, Yeo Jingoo was actually narrating out loud what he believed would’ve been going on inside Joowon’s head:

“My heart is beating so fast... Ahjussi… I hear his voice...! My God... It's Lee Dongsik-ssi...”

And then we have Shin Hakyun suggesting that Dongsik and Joowon should go into the butcher shop walking hand-in-hand, with Joowon crying and following him.
