Lussuria had enough...

Lussuria would always try to bond the group, but when they burned the Christmas tree, he said enough. The sun officer packed and went to Thailand for New Year. The others felt the hole his absence left, it was unpleasant feeling with s bit of guilt. When Lussuria came back nobody said sorry but Squalo did his paperwork for a couple of weeks, Levi did the shopping more often, Bel and Fran helped him with the cooking and Mammon did his accounting for the rest of the year for free. But the best joy for Lussuria was that Xanxus didn’t throw anything at his head for a month and had a fifteen minutes small talk with him.

Varia Quality Party

This just popped up in my mind :D .

It was a once in a life time party. For the first time in the history of the Varia, Xanxus actually organised a holiday trip for his officers so they can celebrate Christmas and New Year Eve together and bond. On a yacht.  Everything started smooth, only them relaxing and drinking. And then Lussuria gave the presents and hell got loose cus someone opened a drinking roulette.  After more than twenty rounds they were drunk, Xanxus was kinda better than the others but right now he was seeing two Squalos riding four Sharks and he wasn’t sure if they did drugs or no. No one even knew what they were drinking anymore. Bel was liking his knives and calling them jewels, Levi was puking while sleeping on top of his torpedine fulmine, Squalo was actually riding his shark around the yacht naked because Lussuria dared him. And the sun officer was taping everything with his camera from the front deck. Thanks to his box weapon he was healed but hell he was not gonna use it on the others. They were fun now. Mammon and Fran were casting illusion after illusion and Levi now awake was their primary target. ........... When Squalo opened his eyes there were unknown women around him. He tried to yell but his throat was soar and he was unable to. The yacht was full of naked women and men. What THE F*CK actually happened??? Fran was running from a couple that wanted him to take part in their strange sexual game. He was never gonna do this sober. Levi was probably dead, two thick women and a man were in his bed. Squalo did not dare to check on Lussuria before taking a medicine. Bel was asleep in the swimming pool that was now full of pillows. Where he acquired these from was unknown. “Happy New Year, captain” Squalo turned around and finally recognized one of the women in his bed. “This was the best Varia party ever. We were so happy the boss called us all here. But I’m going to murder the one that drugged us.” Squalo looked around and with his mouth dropped recognized all Varia members. His voice was back, he didn’t care if his throat was going to hurt “VVVVOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII, Xanxus! You sh*tty boss!!!” ..... But their boss was nowhere to be found. Finally he was able to spend a few days on his own, in total silence. He smirked when he thought of the stupid idea Lussuria had, he remodeled it so much better. Looking at the camera one last time he enjoyed his tape of riding liger on a shark.... then deleted every proof.

Amazing analysis, I think that Timoteo took Xanxus only to use him. And even if Xanxus had the right of being Vongola Decimo, Nuno could have sealed it somehow.

Also, I just don't see an Italian family being led by an outsider like Tsuna. In a few books I have read that only pure italians are accepted into the family. Soooo even though Tsuna is an heir of the Primo bloodline, he would have been known as the mixed breed, not Xanxus, who is most likely 100% Italian.

And about the ring battle they could have just snipered them or poisoned the whole towns water supplies, food, used a car bomb or made it look like an accident... So I think Timoteo probably made the Varia loose to pump up the next generations self esteem.

The Story of Xanxus

After re-watching episodes 64 and 65, my opinion of the Ninth has dropped. Significantly. Good job Timoteo. A+ parenting right there. I dislike you more than Iemitsu right now. I hope your recovery is long and hard. 

There are just some things that don’t quite add up in the Varia arc so I did some digging and paid closer attention to the in between pieces of dialogue throughout the anime and manga. After lots of pondering, I’ve decided that this is basically how the REAL story behind how the battle against the Varia came to be…

His hand ran through the silky hair one last time before he got into the car. Watching from afar his lovers husband crying over the coffin, knowing he killed her because of their affair, Xanxus gave the order. “Kill him”
