So, what is this? Take That vs Conception.
I have to admit to actually having no idea what Tumblr is. I was looking up ways to start a blog and this was offered as a suggestion. I'm not sure if I need to add friends who'll be able to read this or if it just fires out into the big wide world for all to see.
So, maybe I'll just blag my way through. I'll type a few things and see what happens. I don't have an actual idea for blogging, I don't have an actual topic that I wish to write about. I thought I could mix it up and ramble on about general things that happen in my life, day to day.
I don't have strong opinions on subjects and I'm certainly not an expert in any field. But, just sharing everyday experiences might be entertaining. Right?
Maybe if I start by telling you the basics about me, that could be a good start.
I'm a female who has recently turned 36. I'm not sure how I felt about this, I don't feel old, but when it comes to conception, I'm old (a subject I'm sure we will get to). I have been married for nearly 9 years and don't have any children (told you).
We do have an 8 year old cat who we adopted about 4 years ago. It wasn't a planned adoption, she chose us and moved in. From across the street. Awkward. Anyway, she's an adorable little beauty who changed my opinions on cats. My husband had always hoped and prayed that we would have a little kitty of our own, I on the other hand was totally against it. In my life I had only ever encountered nasty little spitty cats who seemed to take great pleasure in scratching me. So, when our cat arrived, I was dubious. However, she is the softest cat around. Not a malicious bone in her teeny body. She will be featuring in future blogs, for sure.
We live in a Buckinghamshire village, in a standard 2 bed semi which we bought 5 years ago. Luckily we are surrounded by countryside, a nature reserve and beauty. The country was the only choice for us. Although it wasn't our upbringing. We're both from council estates.
I have a small business hand painting guitars and ukuleles in psychedelic designs. I also work part time as a Merchandiser. I'm someone who likes to be creating. I get frustrated if I've not crafted something for a long time.
I love the 1960s era. Not only the music, but the fashion. I love the colors and style of the hippie movement, plus the ethics. Peace and love. That's what life should be about. We're only here for a short time, so why waste all that time fighting and hating?
I'm a vegetarian. Something I have dabbled in my whole life, but have recently become fully committed to. Its not really a political statement, as I know that me not eating meat will actually make no difference to the world. But, I've never enjoyed eating meat, I guess I felt I had to, but now I know I don't! My husband decided to give it a go after a rather disturbing video he saw about animal farming, but he lasted about a week. He gave up in a restaurant when he saw the steak on the menu!
I like watching documentaries, mainly about history. I'm a Tudor geek. Anything hosted by Dr.Lucy Worsley, I'm all over.
I love music. All music really, my iPod is rather eclectic. But I'm a a huge Take That fan, have been since I was 11. Certainly be covering this topic in the future.
I absolutely love a conspiracy theory. I waste many few hours down the YouTube rabbit hole.
So, now you know the basics. I'll be touching on all the above mentioned items here. If you're interested in any of the topics, I hope you'll pop back.
M 😉
