It’s taken me a really long time to realize that I was unhappy. LIKE A REALLY LONG TIME. Between work, family, and everyday life-it can get really easy to forget about yourself and focus your attention on others. I constantly found myself worrying about others needs before myself. That constant worry caused me to have major anxiety and with that caused me to not take care of my health. Eventually, this just became by norm. __________ Looking back I realized that my happiest self was when I was active. I was in karate, volleyball, swimming for more than half my life. I was disciplined, strong, and a freakin black belt! What girl at 15 could say that??? Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t have a six pack-but I was aware of my eating habits, my workouts, and my mental state. I honestly felt that I was killing it in life! It is because of this self reflection that I’m determined to get myself back to this place. A place where I’m in my zone, where I am confident, and where I learn to love myself again. I couldn’t be happier to start this journey amongst a support group that strives for the same.
