The thing is, when Solas reflects Inquisitor's pride/wisdom (depending on how you act around him) back at them, he's reacting to the [outer world] that he's getting accustomed to, but when he reflects Rook's accusations/judgement back at them, he's reacting to [himself, reflected in another].

Like whatever the fuck he has going on with Rook is by definition (narratively pretty explicitly set up) intimate and personal. It's the closest he gets to having an honest conversation with himself and another. It is the most honest we see Solas as because he's no longer escaping mentally (DA:I) or physically (Trespasser).

So, I have seen and engaged in a post about Solas and Rook's mind connection. About how it's never said if their mind connection is broken or still intact by the end.

With that in mind, I now headcanon that it is still intact. Meaning in my DA canon, (which features the not previously romanced redeem ending) Solas isn't alone while in the Veil. Rook mentally visits him frequently. 🥰

What I have been saying since I beat Veilguard, DA canon is what the player decides to make it.

If I decide that there is something between Solas and Rook in the romantic sense, then there is. And there is for my DA universe.
