"Then loud rang the Horn of Gondor. For a moment the orcs quailed and the fiery shadow halted. Even Boromir paused, and it seemed to him that in the echoing woods he heard answering calls; but no help came. More than once the Horn cried, and he was still unafraid. But no answer came."

Trope of the day is... realizing they've basically been in a relationship for a while now.
Perfect for that married couple in the friendgroup that isn't actually a couple yet. They often find out about it because more and more people act confused when they say they're not actually a couple. Even people they've known for years think they've been dating all along.

Feelings about family are weird.
It’s always been easy to rationalize and intellectualize my emotions. It’s probably saved me.
The most complicated things I feel these days is in regard to my mother. I haven’t seen her in 14 years and for good reason.
She’s 64 now. I’ve heard from other people who are Facebook friends with her that she had breast cancer. Now I learn she has(had?) pancreatic cancer.
I think a lot about how it will feel when I learn she’s died (assuming I don’t die first). Will I be invited to her funeral? If I am, will I go? Will I cry? Will I be indifferent? Will it make me a bad person if I’m indifferent?
It’s hard to deal with the mindfuck of this. There are more important things going on in the world. But I can’t help but think about this sometimes. It doesnt consume me or anything. I just get lost in thought about it sometimes.
