Do you have any smb artist you would recommend? I'm having trouble finding new artists in the fandom to follow

Uuuhhh okay I KNOW I'm going to forget a few, so please forgive me if I left out anyone obvious. @katlyntheartist and @jell-o101 have really good ongoing SMB comics, as does @insert-goofy-trash-noise (who is fairly new to Tumblr as far as I can tell, but I'm loving their stuff so far.)

Of course I can't forget @cherryfennec's beautifully rendered, wonderfully colored, extremely professional looking art. @luigisgreenoveralls? Top notch bro content. LOVE the way they draw my boy Luigi, especially. @elitadream has developed an A++ version of the Mario universe. If you like Mareach, you'll LOVE elitadream's stuff. (@akiiame-blog's art is also really cute if Mareach is your cup of tea)

@uroad7 posts a lot of really good bro-focused Mario art and has a wonderful and unique style.

@noodles-and-tea and @weevmo have some Mario stuff, but even though they don't post a lot of Mario nowadays their art is so top-notch I don't mind following them for the sake of the ride.

Extra art and quick ramble under the cut!

I was really in the mood to draw Mr. L because I finally got my hands on Super Mario Manga Mania! (Which no one told me HAD THE MR. L CHAPTER in it lmfao). So I thought I would redraw one of my favorite panels from that chapter for funsies to go along with this!

I really wanted to experiment more with rendering and colors with this one, doing a complete 180 from my Rosalina piece and going for a more pop art style. I downloaded some screentone brushes and honestly I am in love with them I'll probably use them more!

Anyways I love Mr. L so so so much and I'm really happy with how I've been drawing him lately he's so skrunkly dshgjkfdnhgfh.

A drawing based on the short videos Charles Martinet used to post online where he'd bring these little Mario and Luigi toys around and comment on various stuff they came across, in his Mario and Luigi voices. (And there was a running gag where whenever they saw an animal Luigi always thought it was a cow for some reason 😆)

Those videos are just one example of how much he clearly loves doing his Mario character voices. In every interview or panel at a con or wherever, he just oozes happiness and enthusiasm no matter how many times he repeats the same Mario lines or retells the story of how he first got the role. His voice has brought so much life to Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi as characters, and with Mario in particular I think he really captures that simple, inner-child sort of happiness that makes us all love Mario even as adults! Martinet's Mario voice is so iconic, it's hard to imagine the pre-Super Mario 64 days where he didn't have an established voice! (Martinet did voice him a few times before that, but SM64 is when the voice was really solidified in the main games.)
