Fabletics Athletic Wear Review
Truly Fab or Everyday Drab?
I’m sure you’ve seen the commercials with the gorgeous Kate Hudson dancing around in beyond cute athletic wear for her brand, Fabletics. You may have also checked out the website with the intent to buy a fab outfit for yourself with high hopes of looking like Kate’s workout twin, but decided not to after realizing you must first agree to a $45 monthly subscription.
“Why can’t I just buy one outfit without committing to a million more outfits?” I asked myself the same thing, and you can actually buy just ONE outfit without continuously being charged. Keep on reading for more to find out how the subscription works, more pictures, and what I thought about my first purchase!
Fabletics has an awesome offer that allows you to purchase your first outfit for only $25 dollars when you sign up for the monthly subscription which automatically grants you VIP Member status. To become a VIP Member, just sign up and take their quick style quiz (5 questions—you just click on pictures like a Buzzfeed quiz) and then provide your email address. Once you’re signed up, the site will generate your customized outfits. The $25 dollar offer only applies to the outfits the site picks for you. You can’t mix and match from the entire site and get the same deal, but there are several other discounts for VIP members.
Most VIP outfits range from $49.95-$89.95. You can also mix and match tops, bottoms, jackets and bras to create your own outfits (prices vary). New custom outfits are generated the 1st of every month as part of your subscription. Don’t freak out if you don’t like the outfits they pick for you, or anything else on the site at that time. All you need to do is opt out of that particular month. Just click “Skip” on your profile homepage before the 5th of the month, and your credit card WILL NOT be charged. I’ve already skipped a month, so I can confirm that the skip button does in fact work. The only time you will be charged the $45 is if you forget to opt out before the 5th of the month without making a purchase. The possible $45 fee is basically a ploy to trick you into checking out their site at least once a month (pretty sneaky, Fabletics). The $45 is not tacked on to the price of whatever you chose to purchase. If you tend to forget a lot in life like me, and you fail to opt out, there’s still no need to panic. It’ll be okay, because the $45 dollars they charge you will become credit and used towards your next purchase. So in reality, the company is only temporarily robbing you…which is better than full on stealing, right? If you get tired of opting out, or tired of forgetting to opt out, you can also cancel your subscription at any time.
*Side note: The site also states you can make purchases without a monthly subscription, however, you won’t be eligible for their VIP member discounts (helpful hint-- discounts are a good thing).
I didn’t pick any of the outfits they chose for me for my first purchase. I created my own for $75 which included a tank, capris, and sports bra. I thought this was a fair price, considering a pair of capris at Lululemon will cost you at least $89, and even Champion athletic wear at Target can cost you almost $30 dollars each for tops and bottoms…if not more!
I placed my order on a Wednesday night, and received by Fab order by Saturday morning. My stuff came ridiculously fast, and standard shipping in the US is free with purchases over $49.95. I absolutely loved my order, not just because everything fit, but because the clothes were insanely soft and comfortable (as soft as Lulu, if not better). I was so impressed with the quality of all 3 pieces, it’s now easily my favorite gym outfit.
The site offers feedback on what others thought of the clothing in regards to sizing (true to size, half a size too small, too big etc.) I’m 5’4, a little under 120 pounds, and wear a 34 C in regular bras. I chose a size small in both capris and my tank, and a medium for my sports bra. All of the pieces fit, however, I probably could have gone with an XS for both the capris and tank, and still have been comfortable. My top is a little too loose for my liking, but since it’s black, it’s basically a non-issue. If you’re in the gym a lot like me and constantly doing “gym laundry”, then the price is absolutely worth it. The picture above was taken after 2 washes. The fabric color, softness, and overall fit of the clothes still remain intact.
The one downside to the site is that their products and certain sizes sell out quickly. The site is constantly updating styles and patterns, so if you like something, grab it right away. Many a time, I will love an outfit selected for me, but my size is already sold out. I recommend browsing through all of your new outfits right away on the 1st of the month. The early bird gets the worm on this website.
I’ve read some reviews and comments that describe Fabletics as a scam. I think those reviewers just didn’t take the time to read how the subscription truly works. Kate Hudson isn’t trying to scam you, she’s trying to make sure your work out gear is as cute as hers…on a monthly basis ;)

Glossy Box Review
For Christmas, I was gifted a 6 month subscription to Glossy Box by my sister. Best gift idea ever, my sister wins all the present points. While I was well aware of beauty box subscriptions, I never purchased a subscription myself, as I was always hesitant due to mixed reviews (mostly pertaining to Birchbox and Ipsy). My sister assured me that she did her research and Glossy Box was the best of all the boxes. While I can’t say that I’ve had multiple subscriptions, and like Glossy Box the best overall in comparison, I can tell you that I absolutely love my Glossy 6 month subscription.
I’m very much into beauty products (proud Sephora VIP Rouge member) and the products that I’ve received in the last 5 months have not disappointed. They range from bath to beauty, and are all luxury products. You will receive 5 or 6 products each month, that will vary from sample size to full size (one month I received 7 products by accident, yay). My latest April box consisted of products ranging from $5.99 to $110 if they were to be purchased in a full size. While I may have only liked a couple of products in some boxes, I have been thrilled with everything I have received in March and April. These boxes are featured below, as well as my January box. Even the packaging for Glossy Box is impressive, how cool is April’s Pop Art theme?
This subscription is a great way to introduce yourself to products you may not have discovered otherwise. The sample size products are perfect for traveling, and still large enough so that you can test the product enough times to determine whether or not you would like to repurchase it on your own. I have received a variety of products from a plethora of brands. I have opened various makeup items, toner, shampoo, lotions, age defying creams, masks, dark spot correctors, perfume...you name it, and you’ll get it, trust me. You can also fill out a beauty profile on the site to help customize what products they’ll chose for you. You can update your preferences at any time (just like Netflix).
Whether you are subscribing for yourself, or purchasing as a gift, the subscription will start in the month you order. You must cancel standard subscriptions before the 14th of the month, or the subscription will renew itself. If you are gifting a Glossy Box, there will be no automatic renewal. I may end up using the gift option for myself in the future, just so I don’t have to worry about cancelling at any point.
My 6 month gift subscription was $150 USD. If I had a standard subscription it would be $126 which comes out to $21 per box. You can also chose a monthly plan at $21 per box, or 12 month plan which totals at $221. I personally think the 6 month package is the way to go. I have one more box left in my gifted subscription, and I’m sure I will be repurchasing soon after. I also just bought the Mother’s Day box for my mom next month. The Mother’s Day edition includes 5 full sized products for only $40, you can’t beat that. Try going to Sephora and buying 5 FULL SIZED items for $40 dollars…you can’t do it, no one can, because it’s impossible!
Check out their FAQ section on their website, it’s very helpful and answered every question I had. http://www.glossybox.com/subscribe/ If you have any questions about my gifted subscription or the types of products I have received, just let me know! In case you couldn’t tell by now, I high recommend giving Glossy Box a try!

Hi I just bought a triangl bikini set (chloe) and I've asked around and decided a small too and bottom would be best but after reading your review I'm worried it'll be too tight around my butt. I AM 5'5 and 130lbs; what's your recommendation please??
Heyy, did you see my post with the width of my medium bottoms? They're a little under 15 inches. My hips are the widest part of me, so this size was good for me. I like more coverage and didn't want to chance the bottoms digging into me. I'm sure the smalls will def fit you(they may even be similar in size to medium), it will just depend on whether or not you like the fit. I hope your smalls work out! If you want let me know how many inches they are across and I'll add that in to help other girls :))

Triangl Bikini Review
I scream, you scream, we all scream for Neopreone!
After watching Triangl Bikinis being mentioned by several beauty Youtubers, I decided I needed one. Or three.
You can’t shop or try on these bikinis in store ANYWHERE—which is a major bummer. The hardest part of purchasing a Triangl Bikini is figuring out what size to buy. I read several reviews, and found girls that were basically the same size as one another were all buying various different sizes. And they all claimed they fit perfectly(LIES).
I used their size guide to determine what size I would be, and then checked out their 24 hour online customer service chat, and while they were EXTREMELY nice, and genuinely interested in helping me chose the best size for me…I decided not to trust them. Because while they are Triangl experts, they’re still strangers, and I know my body best. I was told by Triangl that for my size to go with small bottoms and either S or M for their tops. When it came to the bottoms, I was glad I did not follow Triangl’s advice.
I’m 5’4ish, around 120 pounds and wear a 34C in Victoria Secret bras. I’m a large in VS triangle style tie bikinis tops, and a small in their tie bottoms. I gambled and went with a size medium for tops AND bottoms for all of the three Triangl styles below. I got lucky all across the board and all 3 of the bikinis fit very well(in my opinion).
Their website mentions several times that the neoprene bottoms are meant to fit snug and tight, which is true. My main concern was the material would dig into my fat, and I would feel too uncomfortable to rock them in public. This, magically, did not turn out to be an issue.
I do want to note that I’m positive a small bottom would be wayyyy too tiny for me, however, if you search the internet there’s hundreds of girls that are my size that will tell you they chose small for both bottoms and tops. I like a bikini with a good amount of coverage, and I feel comfortable in all 3 of my medium tops and bottoms.
Little side note size comparison: My friend ordered a Poppy top in a Large, and the cup size was too small for her. She is a size 34 D. I tried on her large top, and it was too big(the band was the central problem). If you have a larger bust, this brand may not be the best fit for you. If you don’t mind showing off your girls A LOT, and don’t participate in hardcore beach activities, then please order away. The straps are adjustable for most suits, but unfortunately, the bands are not.
While this is an Australian brand, they are now based out of Hong Kong, so shipping isn’t cheap. You will pay $25 for Shipping&Handling. S&H costs are NOT covered by Triangl, if you need to make a return/exchange ([email protected]). I wasn’t even mad about the $25 dollar shipping though, because your order arrives SO FAST. I placed my order on a Monday, I believe it shipped on Tuesday or Wednesday, and I received the delivery on a Friday afternoon. Shipping is awesome.
Most suits will arrive in cute matching neoprene bags that you can keep your suit in. If you order a Poppy style, those will come in a sweet black box. The suits are extremely well made, and feel high quality to the touch. The Poppy top has some padding, while my other suits(Lily/Black Neon were not lined. Don’t let this deter you though, the neoprene is substantial enough on its own, and I don’t foresee any “coverage” problems in my future.
You can make your purchase via PayPal, Debit, or Credit. Paypal shows up as the only option at first when you are finalizing your order, but once you get to the next screen you can click credit.
Overall, I had a great experience with Triangl from their customer service to delivery. I was very lucky in that all of my size choices fit. Now that I know my size—my problem is wanting ALL of THEM!
