Historian Stephen Ambrose once noted that after the War, if he ever heard a veteran speak of another soldier as the “bravest man I ever met,” he was usually speaking of a medic.

Someone put red paint on the "Serve and Protect" sculpture at the Salt Lake City police building and it is such a powerful statement.

the show does such a quick 180° on speirs, it's amazing. like, for the first seven episodes, he's just some eldritch horror, appearing out of the woods to give doomsday pep talks and murder prisoners. his name is whispered in the shadows; he is the leopard that stalks the night. no one knows exactly whom/what speirs is, where he came from, or what he wants.
then in episodes 7 - 10 he's suddenly the energizer bunny?? he likes ancient history and card games? he's falling over drunk with his buddies? he's capable of heart eyes?? like whoa, this man has a personality that's not Murder, and it's b e a u t i f u l

I mean what the hell are we doing here? And why… why did I end up back here when all those other fellas didn’t? I thought that. Every guy back has thought that. But you’ve just got to pull yourself out of bed in the morning and get on with the day. You do that enough times in a row, you forget some things. For a while, anyway.

i feel like doc Roe’s little “well I’ll be there sir” after Dyke asks what will happen if he gets hit is criminally underrated in the grand scheme of Reasons We Stan the Doc
