I am acotar hater right now
I read the Acotar series and I'm horrified. This entire series is as misogynistic as it gets.
Poor Feyre, who is passed around like a trophy from one toxic man to another throughout the entire series. A fairly independent and freedom-loving girl, by the end she becomes completely dependent on her husband, who lies to her face about her pregnancy. All her friends are Rhys's friends, who in the fifth book prefer Rhysand to her and lie to her. Her title of High Lady is absolutely meaningless and in fact Feyre is the same lady of the court as everyone else.
Amren and Nesta are incredibly powerful characters who lose their power, but miracle! Rhysand dies and is resurrected still at the peak of his power.
Mor is supposedly stronger than Cassian and Azriel, but her power is never shown. She suffered a terrible trauma when she lived in the Hewn city, but after all these years, she doesn't even think about the fact that there are thousands of other women living under her father's rule who could suffer like her. And she even offers to send Nesta there (Mor suffers from his trauma for five hundred years, but Nesta is supposed to get better in a year?).
Based on other readers' comments, the only interesting thing about Elain is who she ends up sleeping with. Although, out of all the sisters, I like her strength the most. How all the other characters ignore Elain's fatal blow to the king and only talk about Nesta it's unfair.
Rhys's mother and sister simply don't have names, as do Lucien's mother and the Archeron sisters' parents.
The Illyrians are a disaster. Their treatment of women and little boys is terrible and it's obvious that the High Lord won't do anything about it unless it benefits him. And the way Rhysand showers Amren with jewels when some of his Illyrian subjects, who are the backbone of his army, can't afford a blanket - I can feel the elitism.
Out of the entire series, I have no more than five sympathetic characters, and I think that's only because SJM hasn't managed to ruin them yet. I really don't understand how there are so many rave reviews and such a large fan base, and when I see Rhys or Cassian on social media as being on the list of top book boyfriends, I want to scream.

Rhaenyra Targaryen has been repeatedly let down by the men in her life.
Her father practically dug his daughter's grave when he remarried and fathered three sons, then married her off against her will. Her favorite uncle seduced and damaged his niece's reputation when she was practically a child. Rhaenyra's personal sworn shield was obsessed with her since she was a child, and betrayed her after she rejected him. Her first husband didn't care about her, and the father of her three children did nothing for the mother of his children.
As a result, Rhaenyra raised five men who loved their mother more than anything else and respected the women in their lives in general.
Jace and Luke were always respectful to Baela and Rhaena (and didn't have a habit of hitting on every woman in a row like their uncle when he was teenager ), Aegon III and Daenaera seemed to be happy enough together and respectful of each other (and he at least didn't immediately consummate their marriage when his wife started her period, unlike his uncle and namesake), Viserys II loved his wife with all his heart and didn't forget her until his death.

"And take Caraxes and Syrax’s little egg with us? They might miss their “children” whilst they are away. Did you have to keep that one?" he asked, pointing to the grey egg that rested on a soft red pillow near her bedside table. "Not the most remarkable of colours is it?" But Rhaenyra no longer heard him. She was too entranced with the swirls of dark grey on the scales of the egg and her mind was very far from there. -The Blacks & the Greens by @sweetestpopcorn Chapter 37 Rhaenyra XVI
Final piece of part 1!! Not to say I won't do other scenes but for the personal goal/project I've set to try to do one piece a month in chronological fashion I'll be starting part 2 pieces soon. I've always loved the hopeful ending this final scene had after such a devastating previous arc.

My dream team is these four.
Viserys II as King.
Brynden as Hand of the king.
Elaena as Master of coin.
Shiera as Master of whisperers.
This could be a golden age of Westeros, I sure.

Rhaenys "with a glad cry and a crack of her whip, she turned Meleys toward the foe" Targaryen
Daemon "swung a leg over his saddle and leapt from one dragon to the other" Targaryen
Rhaenyra "raise her head toward the sky and shriek out one last curse upon her half-brother" Targaryen

Green fans are loudly shouting that women cannot sit on the Iron Throne and rule Westeros, therefore Aegon the Elder is the rightful king and Rhaenyra cannot rule while there are male representatives of House Targaryen.
But these same people are shouting that Aegon III usurped Jaehaera, and Viserys II usurped his niece Daena, and Jaehaera and Daena are rightful queens.
Maybe them should decide already?

Daemon and Rhaenyra's relationship is definitely not the model one in the Asoiaf universe, not least because it started when Rhaenyra was fifteen and Daemon was thirty-one (though I don't see people getting all that upset about the relationships between sixteen-year-old Rhaenys and thirty-seven-year-old Corlys, Daella and thirty-six-year-old Rodrik, or Rhaena and thirty-two-year-old Corwyn). But Daemon is still the best option from men in canon (at least until the Blacks took the capital).
And what was Rhaenyra's acceptable alternative? Aegon, ten years younger, whose mother hated Rhaenyra? Laenor, who didn't care about Rhaenyra and left his wife and fled to Driftmark immediately after the wedding? Harwin, who has done nothing for Rhaenyra other than father three obviously illegitimate children, and who could have been closer in age to Daemon than to Rhaenyra? Fucking Criston, who has been stalking Rhaenyra since she was a little girl, and then, unable to accept rejection, decided to dedicate his life to revenge against Rhaenyra?

The way Rhaenyra laughed told Daemon she was no longer sober, and from the way Lady Laena also let out a laugh, she was also becoming quite intoxicated. With Alicent looking over to the two of them. She looked furious. -The Blacks & the Greens by @sweetestpopcorn Chapter 29 Daemon VII
Wedding banquet time!! Everyone having a good time, except Alicent lol. This one got away from me I will say I'm happy with how it turned out! There will be a bonus art done from the same chapter, but when it will be done is impossible to say, I was already late in getting this done before April came to an end but 1 day late isn't too bad.

When thinking of Targaryen princesses whose beauty is underrated, two that come to mind are Aegon's III daughter Rhaena and Viserys' II daughter Naerys.
"At fourteen, two years younger than Daena, Rhaena was just as lovely as her sister, but hers was a softer, sweeter, more feminine beauty. Though she was not plump, her body was more rounded than Daena's; her breasts were larger, her lips fuller. Rhaena's hair was more gold than silver, and was always carefully coiffed and combed. She had soft, kind eyes and a shy, sweet smile."
"Naerys had the Targaryen looks, a fine and delicate beauty, almost unworldy. She was slender and small, with big deep violet in hue eyes and fine, pale, porcelain skin, near translucent."
It's a shame. Because both princesses weren't as flamboyant and dramatic as their sister and cousin Daena and grandmother Rhaenyra, and were instead pious and very modest, their beauty wasn't given its due.

"In King’s Landing, however, Queen Alicent grew most wroth when she learned the babe had been named Aegon, taking that for a slight against her own son Aegon"
Rhaenyra gave birth to the perfect Aegon, who by the age of ten had lost half his family, his dragon, witnessed the horrific execution of his own mother, and got traumatized for life, but was still a better man, brother, husband, and king than the cheap parody of a Targaryen that the usurper was.
