I just saw someone on tiktok explain the place of Aztlán 🤦‍♀️ she literally called Mexicans Zionist's like no. That is literally not what is happening we are not advocating for an ethnostate.

As a chicano major to hear her explanation, it was just painful. She said that Aztlán was made up by racist Mexicans. First of all, the idea of Aztlán has been around long before the country of Mexico even existed. The story/mythology of Aztlán comes from indigenous people. The story and place of Aztlán in itself is not racist. It could be argued that in the 70-80s the story was used for a racist ideology as the Chicano movement became big at this time, and there were issues of indigenous exclusion and racism within the Latino community. Today, the story is used more as an idea but not ACTUALLY a specific place. Most Latinos who talk about Aztlán don't want an ethnostate like the person on tiktok claimed because it is not an actual place. It is considered a long-lost place and a piece of our identity we lost because of colonization.

Put simply:

Long-lost place= Aztlán (think Altantis a place said to exist, but no one has actually found it) and considered largely to be just mythology

Identity we lost= indigenous values and beliefs lost because of colonization that sadly most Latinos today will never understand because of the repercussions of colonization

I agree with everything they are saying, but I can't help but wonder if they actually voted. Marching is one political act and if they did not vote, then they did not fully engage with democracy which they claim to love.

On this inauguration day I want to say FUCK YOU if you voted third party or chose not to vote in the 2024 election. I'm not even mad at Trump supporters at this point because they told us what they wanted, and they never tried to hide it. This core idea is what makes the story so loveable and gives that wholesome vibe to it. This is what makes me come back to the series because Mashima somehow makes readers feel that fairy tail guild connection, and it just makes people happy because all people truly want is human connection.

Thinking about Lucy growing up in a cold, empty house, where everybody she saw in some way had to spend time with her, her servants were paid to, her spirits were contracted to, and her father, the only person who wasn’t forced to be with her spent all his time avoiding her and pushing her away

And then when she leaves the place she makes a home has her friends breaking into her house because they want to be with her, dragging her along on missions because they want to spend time with her. She never comes home to an empty house, there’s always someone waiting there for her—and it’s never because she asked them to, it’s always because they choose to

I suspect they will become canon at the very end which makes me conflicted because I never want the manga to end but also I want Nalu to finally become canon 😭

Out of all the ships in Fairy Tail that have the best chance at becoming canon through a 100-year quest, NaLu might be the pairing that might end up together at the end of the manga (instead of being canon during the middle of the series like the rest of the pairings)

Besides GaJeevy, which was already canon at the end of the main series, and Gruvia, which seems pretty close to officially becoming canon, I'm not sure where Jerza stands right now. It seems like Natsu and Lucy's relationship is taking more of a slow-burn approach, and I am not sure why.

The night the election happened I was in a state of shock.

The next day it was sadness.

But today marks the 3rd day and I have just grown angry.

I tried having faith in people..have faith in this country, but honestly this might have been the last straw because everything I care about will likely get taken away or treated like shit.

As someone that does wildlife conservation work I dread what Trump will allow in the name of improving the economy. His followers just want to take everything from the land until nothing is left.

People that CHOSE not to vote allowed it

People that voted THIRD party allowed it

People that did PERFORMATIVE activism allowed it

People that somehow THINK Trump cares about this country allowed it

It was about how lucy has been worried about Natsu because he had been acting distant lately. Then an old childhood friend comes to the guild and they are hanging out reconnecting and stuff. Then Natsu comes back to find this guy friend and gets jealous and gets into a fight with lucy. Then he leaves and lucy apologized to the friend (i don't completely remember the middle part of the story) BUT then the friend confesses to lucy but she rejects him because she realizes she is in love with Natsu and then friend leaves town on a sweet goodbye note. She then talks to Levy who also says Gajeel has been acting weird lately too, I don't remember completely how they figured this out but eventually they find that this behavior change is due to the dragon slayers being in breeding season and thats why they disappeared/acting weird out of nowhere (Wendy wasn't because she isn't old enough like the other dragon slayers). She then somehow finds Natsu and they have this big dramatic confession and he admits that he is in love with her but because of his breeding season he has been keeping his distance because he doesn't want to hurt her or force her into anything. Then the whole confession clears things up for them and they end up together the end. I don't completely remember how they resolved the breeding season storyline, but I do remember that in the end Natsu and Lucy are together and so are Levy and Gajeel.

Other fanfics with similar plots are also welcomed to be recommended. Thank you Fairy Tail fandom 👆
