I took the “Aspie” quiz twice and here are my results. I took it twice because there were a handful of questions I didn’t understand so I answered them both ways to see how things would change. Pretty similar and the sections pertaining to Autism seemed to not move at all.
Still trying to figure out what the info all means. I’m debating showing my mom and spouse so I can get their help with obtaining a diagnosis. Even that is a back and forth thought...does getting an official diagnosis help or inhibit you more as far as others and benefits are concerned?

So, I told my mom last night that I think I’m autistic. I was nervous to tell her because I honestly thought she’d tell me I was being dramatic or imagining things because that gets said to me a lot. However, she said something like “yeah, maybe!” She told me when I was younger I was very particular about the way I played, that I played alone a lot, and that I preferred to play with adults over children. We also talked about how I’d always walk on my toes, different stims I’d do, my social anxiety, my issues with food/textures, and how I could read before I was in kindergarten. She even told me that I’m abnormally smart and retain a lot of information about Disney and music. I asked her if it annoyed her or others that I’m constantly spouting off “fun facts” when we’re watching Disney programs or at Disneyland...she didn’t say anything so maybe she was trying to be nice by not saying anything at all? My mom always said to me growing up “if you’ve don’t got anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” Maybe that’s what she was doing in that last part or maybe I was starting to info dump about autism.

During school I was put onto a team. We were training to be a church missonary team (this is not something I do or am interested in now, this was 10 years ago) and so we underwent all these different team exercises to prepare us to live together and work together in a new place.
I remember during one exercise we were supposed to write down each teammates best quality and worst quality. Supposedly this was going to help us harness our gifts and work on our bad habits. I had 5 teammates and each teammate put the same thing for me. Also, my best quality and worst quality were the same. This didn’t happen to anyone else.
My best quality was that I was blunt/honest and my worst quality was that I was too blunt/too honest. (this came from 5 different ppl) I still am so confused by this and struggle with what their “happy medium” means. Now that I’m learning about autism, this was probably just another sign.

Making a list of stims I’ve recognized that I do.
•Biting the insides of my cheeks and lips (it’s really bad if anyone knows of ways to stop)
•Teeth grinding
•Finger tapping (I take my thumb and tap the head of each finger twice)
•Throat clearing
•Leg shaking
•Biting corners of cuticles off (I used to bite my nails but switched to this)
•Picking at face/legs (I only do this at night)
•Biting my arm
•Snapping
•Cracking knuckles, wrists, knees and ankles
•Dancing/singing loudly
•Reading IMDB/Wikipedia (idk if this is a stim but when I can’t sleep or have anxiety I do this a lot)
