Haru has been better on meds, but stuff has come up and might need surgery, hopefully quick and easy though!

YV has had a lot of little paper cuts of badness happening as well as burnout leading to this extended break.

But he's back in the office and working!

Seth hissed through his teeth as the warm cloth was pressed to the cuts in his skin. The group's default healer tutted, “Sorry. Dodge better next time.”

“I try to dodge better. Not my fault Pinkie blocks with his face and I gotta intervene.” Seth huffed, but there was no real bite to his words.

“Ow? My feelings?” Alphonse feigned insult, but it was hard to hide the smile on his face. “Besides, hard not to put myself in a little bit of danger when I know we've got a healer as good as you, Boo.”

Boo scowled at him, gesturing to the bowl in his hands. “Eat your porridge, dumbshit.”

Seth moved just a little, but Boo gripped his face to keep him still. “And you. Quit fidgeting. I'm not done.”

“Ain't it supposed to be easier than this?” He grimaced. “Ain't you supposed to just… say a couple prayers to the goddess and our wounds close up all easy like?”

They rolled their eyes. “You're both the dumbest fucking people I've ever met.”

“That's how it works when we're fighting!”

“Ever noticed I heal better when we aren't in mortal peril?” They spat, fashioning together a poultice for a particularly nasty scratch on his side. “She grants small miracles on request, cuts, burns, bites, that kind of stuff, but if it's anything more serious I need to give her the proper time and respect.”

Seth sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Makes sense I guess.”

Alphonse nodded, “My bad for taking you for granted, Boo. You're tough, you kick ass as a healer, I assumed this shit was just second nature to you.”

They sighed, rolling their eyes for the umpteenth time that night, but this time, their lips curled upwards into a small smirk. "Not like the Lord Bishops healers- they can sling all kinds of supportive spells on command with his blessing, but they're all... superficial. Can't treat anything more than a cut or a burn. Consider yourselves lucky."

The three shared the pot of porridge as they talked battle strategy and tactics. Their dinner was hardly flavorful, but it was the best Boo could do with limited resources. Alphonse sighed, swallowing down a mediocre spoonful. “Gotta admit, kinda miss Willowbrook.”

“Ugh, don't remind me…” Boo whined, their spoon dangling from their lips. “I miss my kitchen… and the soups at the Sword and Board were to die for- Seth your mama cooks like an angel.”

“Not the only thing she's good at~” Alphonse purred.

“Say that about my mom again, asshole.” Seth smiled, giving Alphonse's shoulder a firm shove.

“I was gonna say she's also funny and a good dancer.” He held his hands up in mock surrender. “... And I can totally see where you get your cute ass from.”

“I'm leaving, congratulations, I'm splitting the party.”

“Har har, very funny Mr. Watcher.” Boo elbowed his knee as he stood up.

He walked around camp, halfheartedly gathering his supplies. “Nope, I mean it this time. I'm heading off on my own, a solo act. Y'all can go back to Willowbrook and enjoy my Mama's company. I'm sure you three'll be very happy together.”

He strolled off into the woods. Boo was on the ground cackling, Alphonse was having a hard time keeping himself upright. “Seth, wait-”

“Tell my little brother I said hi, and that he'll be calling you both dad from now on.”

“There's bears in those woods!”

“I can handle bears. I cannot handle this disrespect on my family name.”

“Not gonna finish supper first?”

“I've lost my appetite.”

Boo rolled their eyes. “Oh my goddess, we get it, drama queen. Come back here and finish dinner.”

Seth finally broke, laughing just as hard as his partners and taking his seat again.

Boo chuckled, running a hand through their hair. “You know, if you went out on your own, I'd give you like… twenty minutes before some monster mauled you to death and you bleed out against a tree.”

“Nah, I think bandits would jump him.” Alphonse joked.

“Bandits? Really? I'm the-”

“Yeah yeah, you're the watcher, we know.” Boo rolled their eyes with a smile, “Just gives you less of a case. Organized criminals either wouldn't care or would just bring your head back to their leader for some kind of respect or something. You're a symbol now, your head holds weight.”

“Are you finally admitting I have a brain?”

“Nope.” They chirped. “It's all that hair. Weighs you down. You'd be quicker if you shaved it all off~.”

“Not a chance in the Hells, Sugar.” He nudged them with an arm.

This was typical fare for the three of them. There had been a silent, unspoken fear that things would change when Seth joined the Anointed, that he'd lose that lighthearted side to him, lose himself in his work, hold his position as the Watcher in higher standing than his position as their partner. But that didn't happen, at least not yet. Beneath the armor and the hair and the smoulder, he was still just… Seth of Willowbrook. Tender lover, genuine sweetheart, and gorgeous crier.

As the healer's eyes flitted between their boys, a soft smile on their face, only one thought lingered on their mind. “... Let's do this again tomorrow.”

“And the day after that?” Alphonse smirked.

Seth smiled up at his partners with that lovesick grin they'd become all too familiar with. “And the day after that.”
