That “average Ranger meets 3 legendary pokemon during their career” factoid actualy just statistical error. The average Ranger meets 0 legendary pokemon during their career. Rangers Georg, who lives in Oblivia & has apparently befriended every goddam legendary in the region, is an outlier adn should not have been counted

when Grovyle finds out Celebi is at risk, he keeps trying to convince himself that it's not possible she was actually captured. it caught my attention because he does the same thing when he wakes up in the dark future.

I was gonna say that maybe reapeating to himself that the worst case scenario won't happen is like... a coping strategy he uses to keep moving forward. but uuh maybe that's just what being hopeful is. either way I'm adding it to the list of things a love about Grovyle..

in both cases, we still see his desperation. and Dusknoir sees it too.

also crazy is how dusknoir just. knows grovyle so well. he immediately clocks what grovyle is thinking when he offers a truce and then tears it down with a real, decent argument. and grovyle immediately buys it (“I can’t tell what he’s thinking but I think teaming up will be ok for now”) even tho his gut instinct was correct.
