My go to is 1 tsp of instant coffee 1 tsp sugar, half a tsp apple pasty spice mix juspt spices + half a cup of hot water and half a cup of canilla soy milk

Chai tea bag + lil but of brown sugar + apple cider packet + 16 oz. mug of hot but not quite boiling water

Elder Scrolls Lore: Names

I recently realized that I have been ignorant of the names of other races besides those of the Dark Elves/Dunmer and the Argonians/Saxhleel. I named characters as I wished, and looking back on them now, I realize the names I chose were pretty stereotypical and, frankly, rude in the world of Elder Scrolls.

For instance, I named my Khajiit character “Miranjri” which sounds Khajiit-like, but it’s not an actual name a Khajiit would have. In fact, I’m pretty sure that name is completely meaningless to the Khajiit.

So, as a present for my now 1,000 followers, I’m starting a series of posts about the lore-friendly rules to go by when naming your characters. Starting with the Khajiit, I’ll have a post for each race and I’ll link each post to this one as I go. The series will also be tagged #eslorenames. I hope you enjoy. :)

Raven Rock baked ash yams

Ash yams are the staple food of Raven Rock, and the locals have gotten creative over the years with how to use this hardy and simple vegetable. These baked ash yams are served under a blanket of delicious white meat ragout, preserving the heat for cold winter meals. When shopping for yams, be sure not to confuse them with sweet potatoes. Yams can be either orange or purple, but both taste great!

You will need: 4 medium sized yams, washed and scrubbed Olive oil Garlic salt ½ brown onion, diced 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped ¼ cup butter 2 chicken breasts, cubed 2 cups chicken broth 1 cup heavy cream 1 cup white wine 1 tbsp mixed herbs Salt and pepper to taste

Method: Preheat oven to 220C/425F and line a baking tray with foil.

Baste the yams liberally with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic salt. Bake for 45 minutes and prepare the ragout in the meantime.

In a pan, brown the onions and garlic in the butter. Add the chicken breasts and continue cooking until golden brown and cooked all the way through. Remove from heat.

In a pot, combine the chicken broth, cream, and wine. Cook on medium heat, then add the chicken, onions, garlic, herbs, and salt and pepper. Stir well and cook until the chicken is soft and tender, about 8 minutes.

Remove your yams from the oven and cut into halves (be careful and wear oven mitts as they will be very hot). Transfer to a deep dish and ladle the ragout over. Serve immediately.

I redrew and coloured my new dnd OC! Meet Yule, inspired by Dungeon Meshi: Chilchuck, with my own classical dnd spin on it, she is a moody lightfoot halfling shadow sorcerer and she loves pastries and cheese, very good at stealing too hehe...

She uses she/they pronouns and doesn't really think about herself usually, she has daily struggles such as the constant pain in her hands that stopped her from working certain jobs. She does stuff because that's what she was told to do, she doesn't really express themselves and the reason is because she is just like that. She never really had friends so she shares almost everything with her new adventure team and she will have random energy/happiness bursts. Tries to be on everybody's good side but she loves food so much she will take it from her friend's pockets too. She doesn't look like she's alive when she sleeps and she's just a but colder to the touch. Loves to sleep in tight cozy spaces and sleeps best in the rain.

She was born on the day of the winter solstice so her name is Yule. As a newborn everybody thought she was a stillborn until she started moving around and stretching. As a kid she frequently got lost for days even and that freaked out the other halflings. She didn't have much friends, she played with the neighboring kids. She was usually a bother to her parents since she was weak and couldn't help much with housework. Eventually she started developing her magical abilities and that freaked out the village so she lost the rest of her friends too. When she became of age, the village elders gathered around and told the family to send her away to the city since she freaks out the villagers. The parents couldn't say no so they packed her up and sent her away on the first day of spring. She's now applied to be an adventurer and she's trying to learn to control her powers.
