if Jonah and Barnabas were roommates at school, do you think Barnabas would get used to falling asleep to the sounds of Jonah studying. pages turning, candle crackling, pen and paper... and maybe he'd get so used to it that even years down the line, he still starts to feel sleepy and relaxed whenever Jonah is working

fr tho. I honestly have very vivid images of this kind of stuff in my brain (who knows why /s). Barnabas not having the energy to argue with Jonah about going to sleep at a reasonable time and just being like Right Well I'm off to bed Enjoy feeling shit tomorrow. and dozing off while watching Jonah do his thing. and I've always thought their desk(s) were reasonably close to their beds, tiny rooms and everything. so maybe one night Barnabas just stretches out an arm and places his hand on Jonah's knee or whatever. just for the sake of touching him. and it's so fucking comforting and they're both so fucking normal about it and Barnabas would hate to admit it and hates that Jonah stays awake so late so often but those are the nights he sleeps best. just being able to place a hand on his Jonah and know he's right by his side.
