Song for sleepers
Tired, tired,
very tired!
My thoughts are dreary,
Veiled and mired!
Weary, weary,
very weary!
The bed is near,
And I am cheery!
Cheery, cheery,
very cheery!
I need to sleep!
‘Cause I’m weary!
The bed is warm,
The pillow’s soft!
The sheets are too!
And mind’s aloft!
There goes the dreamer!
In home with bed!
Very tired,
but fully fed!
I dream, I rest!
Look ‘pon the west!
Where vanished light!
Brought us the night!
The thoughts are strange,
The dreams draw close,
The sleep’s in range!
I rest till morn!
The room grows dark
The hearth grows cold!
The red flames spark,
And warmth uphold!
A midnight spell!
The bed-sheets cast!
The dream enchants!
I sleep at last!

Ba-dum, ba-dum
There is it…
Ba-dum
Do you hear?
Ba-dum.
A heart-ache.
Ba-dum, ba-dum.
There goes the doom.
Of heart, of soul, of mind.
A heart-ache of one kind.
Broken heart, shattered.
Pieces scattered.
Ba-dum, ba-dum!
Many hurts loom,
Over yonder, where all,
Seems dark and tall.
Fell is the thought,
When heart is in tatters.
Who had it in glass wrought?
Does it matters?
Ba-dum, ba-dum.
The sound grows faint.
Like an old paint.
On a crumbling wall.
That is bound to fall.
Ba-dum, ba-dum.
Will it ever heal?
Will it again feel?
Will it joy and swell?
Will the feeling glad,
In my heart dwell?
Heart in glass clad.
All was said and done.
The wounds remain.
Happy scars, sorrowful, too.
But even in pain,
There are always two.
Then I wonder,
In thought I ponder,
If my glassy heart.
As well, tore yours apart.

Unwearying man
By the meadow,
By the stream,
And hitherto,
Where legs carried!
To the deep and
to the high!
Be he sunned,
Or hid in dark.
By the hill,
And by the vale!
The pace is still,
Not losing trail!
The feet just go,
On and on.
In the snow,
Or leaf below!
No breath runs out.
No eyes to sleep.
Nor single doubt,
In any leap.
No home to,
Come back to, too!
No doors, non,
to knock upon!
In the spring,
Or in the fall!
Summer sun,
Or winter squall!
He goes and goes,
No wilt he shows,
But best he knows,
Where halt he needs!

Merry Stream
Merry, Merry, goes and turns!
Along the banks and rocks!
Gently spills and hurls!
On the hillside cocks!
Over the hill, past the mead.
There flows and goes.
Where does it lead?
Nobody knows.
Merry, merry stream!
From left to right!
Spreading like a seam,
Through day and night!
Hums and sings.
A gurgling tune!
Of falls and springs!
And Sun and moon!
Merry, merry river!
Waterfalls and pools!
In woods where trees shiver!
In shade where water cools!
Merry, merry run!
Twist in land afar!
Follow sky and Sun!
Stream beneath the star!
Merry, merry come!
You sang for far too long!
Now stop the hum,
And end the song!
Merry, Merry, come, be merry!
Long have you flew and rushed!
Now come and hurry!
In waves be hushed!
Merry, merry, end!
Near a sandy beach!
Where no vale or bend,
Thwarts its final reach!
Merry, merry still!
From the spring it rose!
Now near the mead and hill.
Always streams and flows!

Song of a Drunken Dwarf!
Hammer, ax, shield and sword.
Stream and river, bank and ford.
Pine and fir, oak and ash!
Drunken dwarf, bold and brash!
Drunken dwarf, drunken dwarf!
Song of a proud drunken dwarf!
Bend the flute and tear the harp!
Because singing is now the drunken dwarf!
Hammer, ax, shield and sword!
Fall in the river, wash out near ford!
Pine and fir, oak and ash!
Flagon ahigh, let the mead splash!
Drunken dwarf! Drunken dwarf!
Bent the flute and tore the harp!
And the rest of the drunken pub.
Harkens to the singing of the drunken scrub!
Hammer, ax, shield and sword!
Tells of the story, how he became a lord!
Pine and fir, oak and ash!
How he found gold-ring in a pile of trash!
“Drunken dwarf! Tell us more!”
“Wrestling dragons and stopping the war!”
Sound the sots around the hall!
And the drunken dwarf tells it all!
Drunken dwarf, drunken dwarf!
Swayed on feet and let out a cough!
Sung about fat, nasty, green trolls!
Under the bridge, asking for tolls!
Hammer, ax, shield and sword!
Boasts about naming the largest fjord!
Pine and fir, oak and ash!
Ends the song as he comes down with a crash!

Ballad of Thane Grahda Stormheart, The Old Bear
There once was a dwarven lad,
with storm hammer metal clad!
Named Grahda, thane of Stormhearts he been!
With hawk eyes, and a long beard on his chin!
With a scalp as shiny as the stars of the night!
And with a way of cursing that sets foes in fright!
 -
So I wish to sing one epic story
About Grahda and his splendid glory,
When he fought and slew three brothers!
Highland’s ettins, dwarven bothers!
Three tall, one fat, one thin!
And one right in between!
 -
They caused trouble, in the eastern parts,
so Grahda rallies, Stormhearts depart.
The gryphons were fast, but Thunderwing was faster.
Grahda was first, to see the disaster.
Dwarven folk pummeled, by a savage beast.
The second was laughing, third having feast.
Thane waits for no-second and dives right in.
To punish and not leave alive a single ettin.
 -
Six heads dumbfounded,
As the dwarven warcry sounded.
Hammer struck hard, gryphon claws cut deep,
And the thin ettin went forever to sleep.
Surprise faded, and the ettins cried.
With their crude weapons on dwarf flailed.
 -
Second of regret filled Grahda’s mind.
As his trusty gryphon got hit from behind.
A screech of pain, and a yell of the same strength,
As the partners to the ground were sent!
Divided in landing, Grahda was left no time.
The ettins charge, no tempo of slime.
 -
The hammers come down,
With a roar of fury.
To tear pines sown,
And dwarf to bury.
But Grahda was no pushover,
He leapt from grassy ground,
Standing on green clover,
He behind giants himself found!
 -
With a strike came the lighting.
In the leg sharply biting.
The fat ettin yelled, dropped on one knee.
And then climbed like a tree!
Came thane to his spine, dodged the clasping hands.
Next a precise swing on the neck he lands.
 -
Came no sound from giant fat.
As he, dead, came down flat.
But Grahda had no chance,
To savour the small win.
With a small glance,
He saw the spin!
The last ettin stood, brought crushing attack,
Landing on his fallen sibling.
With a nasty loud crack,
And blood slowly dripping…
 -
Fear not! As it is not the end of the tale!
Because Thane survived, and the ettins are pale!
Unknown to his opponent,
Grahda dodged in last moment,
Jumped behind the fallen foe.
And then quickly crept below!
 -
As the ettin grieved, over brothers lost.
Grahda hidden changed his post.
Then rolled the hammer, over his head.
And with roar forward had it thrown.
Should have seen ettin’s eyes, the dread!
When the hammer shattered the bone.
Killed was ettin along with the thunder sound.
And so his lifeless body came aground.
 -
Now dead was the trio, of nasty vile beasts.
And so ends the story, sung on the feasts!
About Grahda Stormheart, The Old Bear.
With valiant spirit, but no hair...

Dwarven Warsong - Sound of Dwarven Horns
Dum, dum, sound the drum.
As the dwarven warriors deeply hum.
They march, they march, into battle first or last!
Dwarven rows filled with dwarven lads!
So blow the horns, ring them strong!
With high spirit, nothing goes wrong!
So blow, so blow, so blow the horns.
Let them get used to dwarves in war!
Ring the horns, ring the horns!
Through sharp wind and wild storm!
Ring the horns, ring the horns!
To soothe those who blood adorn!
So ring, so ring, so ring the horns!
Along the drums, with banners high!
So ring, so ring, so sound the horns!
We come to war, they come to die!
And they rang, they rang, they rang so loud!
As the dwarven lads stood strong and proud!
Now they ring, they ring, they ring in ears!
Of enemies who found, who found their fears!
Now we fight, we fight, we loudly fight!
Along the rings all day and night!
We fight, we fight, we charge through!
Till enemies are dead or they withdrew!

Dwarven Warsong - Dwarven Company
Dwarven companies come, come!
It came time to protect our dear home!
Sharpen your axes, spears and swords.
Call your banners, thanes and lords!
Say your prayers, clear your minds.
Fill stomachs, empty behinds!
Set your helms and braid your hairs!
Scare the foe with your stares!
We come, we come!
To protect our dear home!
Though far, we know the threat!
No dwarven folk forgot the debt!
We come, to fight the foe!
We come from lands of stone!
Usurpers, steel your wills!
Because dwarven folk comes from the hills!
Rumble, rumble! Tearing asunder!
Any who dare to come in path!
Rumble, rumble! Like a thunder!
To any who want to taste our wrath!
Dwarven folk, brawny and stout!
Clear your lungs! Shout! Shout! Let them hear,
what a dwarf sounds like!
Let them fear,
before the dwarves do strike!
Because we come! We charge, we charge!!
We charge, into army twice as large!
But we don't care! We bash our heads!
Till enemy be nothing more than shreds!
So come my brothers! Charge! Charge!
Into armies twice as large!
