( – Her eagerness to improve reminds him of the time he was still a trainee himself. Jason has been naturally gifted with a voice that from the beginning could reach heights and volumes that even some trained singers cannot achieve, but that had not deterred his willingness to improve. That willingness and spark had died once he had returned to the United States, and had been replaced with a different aspiration. Although he has long forgone his own dream of being the best, seeing her try her hardest awakens a flame he had once thought to be burned out. Although being an idol is no longer what he aspires to be, while he is undercover, he might as well put in the effort to appear as though it is. 

He listens to her predicament, a soft hum of acknowledgement escaping his lips. ❝You’re worrying too much,❞ comes his brisk response, the color of embarrassment soon dusting his features. ❝Ah, I mean --❞ he quickly recovers, or at least attempts to do so. He had not meant to sound so curt, ❝I think that once you begin to focus on one thing more than the other, you are gonna make mistakes. Like-- If you keep focusing all of your attention on your singing, you’ll not only notice all the mistakes you make as you sing, but you’ll also won’t able to monitor your own dancing as much. I think the best thing you can do is just have a good time. Enjoy yourself, relish in what you’re doing, and your audience will notice too.❞ )

( ✿ ) His words of advice are truly appreciated, as well as his praise, even if she’s still rather shy and detached from compliments, because they make her feel embarrassed and unsure how to react – she still highly believes she’s not worthy of so the admiration some people show, since there’s so many other talented people in the industry. The undisguised (and sometimes hushed) truth is: the prettier you are, the faster your popularity grows. No matter how much you cherish the kind words and people noticing your other abilities, looks will always come first, whether you like it or not. But who wants to be just a pretty face? Definitely not Chaeyeon.

( – The corner of his lips rises into a lopsided smile, the color of embarrassment lightly painting a hue across his cheeks. Indeed, it’s odd for an idol to forget how easily recognizable they are, but in Jason’s ample defense, he has not gotten accustomed to the role he plays just yet. It’s been almost two months since his debut, but he still struggles with the comprehension that he is actually pulling off this facade. People believe he is a godgifted performer -- Trained to the bone, despite the truth being anything but. 

He chuckles, his fingers brushing across her fringe in order to bring some of the unruly strands back in order. ❝Let’s just say I am overwhelmed by the fact that people actually recognize me, for the first time in twenty-five years,❞ he tells her, the smile faded, but the sparks of bemusement still very much apparent in his eyes, ❝I lived my life as a normal guy for so long, it’s hard to to remind myself that I’m no longer just that.❞ He taps the cap with a satisfied hum, ❝very comfortable, thank you, Touhi.❞ )

A quiet stream of giggles slipped past her lips, lips tugging into an amused grin. “How does one forget their status as a public figure, when their own face stares back at them from shop windows?” she asked, eyebrows quirking up with genuine curiosity. She removed her cap, opposite hand running its fingers in her locks to tame them down before she reached up to put it on for him. Vartouhi made sure to take her time, letting her arm block view of him as she adjusted the strap in the back so it fit snugly around his head. “Is that comfortable?” she questioned, a hand falling to his shoulder to apply gentle pressure as she stepped to the side, trying to turn him to face away from the fans.

( – The undercover part of his job thus far has been the hardest. Jason had been naturally sociable when he lived in America, but for the role as J-SUN he has crafted more of a front for himself. His mission is to get closer to other idols, but instead he can just feel himself distancing from them, a natural reaction to keeping his true identity hidden. Doyoung however is a likable kid, friendly and eager. He makes it easy for Jason to speak, and mold himself into the person he needs to be for this mission.

Boisterous laughter escapes his lips as the other’s forward question, and mirth dances in his eyes.❝I only just finished promoting for my debut single,❞ he says, once the chuckles have faded, though the smile is still prominently dancing along his lips, ❝I have to say I would be quite comfortable with a few weeks off. So I am not sure who is spreading these rumors, but CEO-nim does not favor me that much, just yet.❞  )

He’s caught off guard by the sudden statement directed at him given that Doyoung is normally zoned-out state of mind. Peeling his eyes away from the sheaf of papers that outlined his schedules for the day, he looks up at the older male, instantly recognizing him which earned the other a bow of head from himself. ❝ AH – thank you for your kind words, Jaesun-ssi. I’m flattered that you have heard our songs. ❞

Truth be told, Doyoung was probably not the most outgoing or social of his group so he was clueless as to how he could guide the conversation further with someone he had just met for the first time though it did help that he was aware of the older male and his songs. ❝ Could rumors be trusted that you’re indeed having a comeback soon or is that information much too classified at this stage? ❞

[ W KOREA ] [ J🌞 DEBUT INTERVIEW ]

1. WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hello, and thank you for having me. I am JYP’s newest soloist J🌞 (J-SUN)!

2. WHAT IS YOUR REAL NAME? My passport reads Jaesun Jason Lee. Because I grew up in America, my parents decided on a name that is both Korean and Western. In order to avoid confusion about the pronunciation, my parents made Jason my middle name, but I think it just adds to the confusion, doesn’t it? ( laughs )

3. DO YOU KNOW WHY YOU WERE CALLED THAT? The name means respect and goodness, so maybe these are qualities my parents hoped would transfer to me through the name. ( laughs ) Other than that, I think they just liked it.

4. ARE YOU SINGLE OR TAKEN? I am dating... My fans of course. ( laughs ) Right now, any other love affair is out of the question. My career is number one.

5. HAVE ANY ABILITIES OR POWERS? Ah... The ability to make people feel things, perhaps? I mean, that is my ultimate goal as an artist, of course. To make people feel a strong emotion when they hear one of my songs.

6. STOP BEING A GARY STU. A what? I think we just covered that my name is Jason Lee. ( laughs )

7. WHAT’S YOUR EYE COLOR? My natural eye color is brown.

8. HOW ABOUT YOUR HAIR COLOR? My natural hair color is a very dark brown, but for my latest promotions it was dyed completely black. I am planning to dye my hair to a lighter color soon.

9. HAVE YOU ANY FAMILY MEMBERS? I have an older sister, and my parents! My grandparents from father’s side are no longer with us, but my grandma from mother’s side lives in Seoul and is still very healthy! I visit her as often as I can.

10. OH? WHAT ABOUT PETS? When I lived in America I used to have a dog, but he died before I went to Korea to become a trainee. Lately I have been thinking to get a dog, once my promotions settle down. I want to raise it by myself, so I’ll need enough free time!

11. THAT’S COOL I GUESS, NOW TELL ME ABOUT SOMETHING YOU DON’T LIKE. Ah... What I don’t like? Injustice, is the thing I can’t stand the most. When I was young I would often get into brawls with the bullies at my school, because I could not stand their behavior. I believe that if you have a voice, and the opportunity to speak up against bad things happening to other people, it is your moral responsibility to do so.

12. DO YOU HAVE ANY HOBBIES/ACTIVITIES YOU LIKE DOING? I have learned how to play the guitar, and I play piano, which I both enjoy. Other than that I play video games like League of Legends, and Overwatch. 

13. EVER HURT ANYONE BEFORE? Haven’t we all at some point in our lives?

14. EVER….KILLED ANYONE BEFORE? Do mosquitoes count? Because if so? Yes. Plenty of times. 

15. WHAT KIND OF ANIMAL ARE YOU?.” According to my fans I resemble a dog? ( laughs ) I’m not sure if that’s a compliment or not, but considering I am very loyal and protective over my loved ones, I think that is a fair comparison. 

16. NAME YOUR WORST HABITS. I get frustrated easily. When practice doesn’t go as well as expected, or I don’t pick up a song fast enough I get into a slump.

17. DO YOU LOOK UP TO ANYONE AT ALL? I look up to the brave men, and women who risk their lives every day to keep our country safe. I am very thankful to them.

18. GAY, STRAIGHT, OR BISEXUAL? I support the right for everyone to love who they want to love.

19. DO YOU GO TO SCHOOL? Not anymore, I have finished my criminal law studies in America, however.

20. DO YOU EVER WANT TO MARRY AND HAVE KIDS ONE DAY? Ah, one day, definitely. I think I’d be a good father.

21. DO YOU HAVE ANY FANBOYS/FANGIRLS? Yes, I am actually overwhelmed and extremely thankful for all the support I have gotten since my debut. 

22. WHAT ARE YOU MOST AFRAID OF? Not living up to the expectations other people have of me. It really stresses me out sometimes.

23. WHAT DO YOU USUALLY WEAR? Most of my clothing is picked out for me, but whenever I do get the chance to dress myself, jeans, sneakers and a simple shirt are a must.

24. DO YOU LOVE SOMEONE? I love everyone who has ever supported me on my road to becoming an idol! I could not have done it without them.

25. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU WET YOURSELF?” Ah, when I was a kid? I’m not sure how old I was when it happened.

26. WELL, IT’S NOT OVER YET! It’s not?!

27. WHAT CLASS ARE YOU? (HIGH CLASS, MIDDLE CLASS, LOW CLASS) I think I was lower middle class when I lived in America. Right now, it’s upper.

28. HOW MANY FRIENDS DO YOU HAVE? Not very many. With this career, I find it hard to get close to people.

29. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON PIE? ( in English ) Gotta love myself some good pie.

30. FAVORITE DRINK? Ah, water?

31. WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE? Home. 

32. ARE YOU INTERESTED IN SOMEONE~ When I was younger I used to be a big fan of Girls Generation, and Wonder Girls! These days, I really like TWICE sunbae, and Red Velvet.

33. WHAT’S YOUR BRA CUP SIZE AND/OR HOW BIG IS YOUR WILLY?   Um, excuse me?

34. WOULD YOU RATHER SWIM IN THE LAKE OR THE OCEAN? The ocean! I miss the sea a lot.

35. WHAT’S YOUR TYPE? I don’t think I really have a type. If I like a girl, I will know it. Mostly, I just want someone who I can laugh with.

36. ANY FETISHES? Like, pet peeves? I hate it when people chew their gum too loudly.

38. CAMPING OR INDOORS? Hmm, camping, I guess. Because I spend most of my time indoors already.

His head was laying on the edge of the couch as he looked up at the ceiling. “ What’s wrong? “ He muttered without even trying to check for himself. Jason had been busy with something for a while now but Mingyu’s attention was all over the place. “ Need help? “

( -- Putting his laptop aside, Jason’s lower lip juts out into a petulant pout. He pulls his legs up to his chest, and stares at the glaring DEFEATplastered across his screen. ❝Unless you know how to play League of Legends and carry me to a win, I don’t think there’s much you can do, Mingyu-yah,❞ he mumbles, defeat now resounding through his voice. )
