I was on livejournal (and technically still am), but most of fandom has gone to the darkside, so I finally caved and did so as well. Don't mind me and don't worry - I'm randomly reblogging things I've bookmarked ever since I learned tumblr existed. Sometimes I reblog from random people because a post I bookmarked in 2010 doesn't exist anymore and Google helps me find someone who reblogged it before it disappeared.

FYI still alive.
Trump and MAGA people are still terrible.
My new job is not great but still 500x better than the last one.

I am alive.
I am fine. My family home is in the yellow zone but the border between yellow and red near them hasn’t changed in about 48 hours, so fingers crossed that stays stable. Air quality in the Portland Metro Area is terrible. Plenty of people have lost their homes in rural areas. I’ve been spending my time on another form of social media due to the need to engage locally. Wishing everyone the best and hoping anyone in the areas impacted by the fires here in the West is okay.

I keep loudly announcing "Oh so this is the Bad Place!" but no one in a bow tie has shown up to tell me off for ruining their torture scenario. Sigh.
I think Vicky is running this neighborhood...

hey with tr*mp abruptly announcing that they’re ending the census count on september 30, much earlier than originally planned (source, dated August 4, 2020), it’s vitally important that you get your census response in immediately. the census is used to determine how many seats your state gets in the house of representatives and also helps allocate federal funding for schools, roads, hospitals, and fire departments (source 1) (source 2).
it’s just a brief questionnaire, but it’s one of the most important things you can do to help your community right now. hundreds of millions of dollars are on the line, and some states are already poised to lose multiple seats in the house because of low response rates (source). it only takes a couple minutes, so please, consider taking a break and filling it out now!
