My boyfriend commissioned a painting from me for his mom of what she imagines her "happy place" is for her birthdayand well, as much as it was out of my comfort zone I'm glad with how it turned out, even got a frame for it.

Truth be told, I didn't want me bf to even pay me for this since him and his mom are so wonderful. He managed to talk me down into accepting the shipping payment and I'll be mailing it off tomorrow.

Ok, so MLM in this case means Multi-Level Marketing/Pyramid Schemes not Men Loving Men. And this is really just a long winded rant about my aunt who has been in at the very least 20 schemes, has tried to recruit me to 3 maybe 4 with what this rant is going to go into. This is through Scentsy in this situation. Also excuse my language in this I am rather fuming.

The post in reference to what she was discussing to me:

My aunt attempted to try to tell me being in a MLM wasn't so bad by saying she did this for Scentsy.

But like... This is just fucking bribery for something funny to happen while using it to rank up other than it being a like goal or donating money to charity.

"you have to spend $1000 on products to see me get x done" and she still tries to brag like that's a good thing

Like no, you're ripping off people with overpriced goods along with your sAlEs SiStErS to buy expensive product from you when you know they get overloaded inventory just like you do.

This is how it went verbatim ->

My aunt: I was able to do my August challenge fully today!

Me: your what?

My aunt: with this group I'm with selling products I was able to reach all the tiers required to be pied and egged, ice bucketted.

Me: um.. ok?

Notice how she doesn't name Scentsy by name to me. Many MLM reps do this in order to get people to ask "well what is this through" and the rep will dm about it to that person. I do think this was her attempt at a 4th by not saying the name since I knew about these types of schemes already.

I had to go to her Facebook to see that it was Scentsy behind this.

Another instant mentality feeling I got was that she was not bragging about doing something fun, but bragging about selling a particular amount of inventory and how that "ranked her up." Which I bet the challenge only existed for her upline to be the one to actually rank up. Not her.

It also came off as entitled as "see, it's totally not illegal and I'm making money!"

Anyway this is one of many reasons why I hate Multi-Level Marketing and hunbots. It's this mentality that just frustrates me.

There's much more I can rant on about with my aunt I general too such as saying that my cousin (who is 14 and her grandson) "not gay" to his face and around family when his biological mom isn't around. How she enables his sister to say that he doesn't have depression and belittles him. And how my aunt enables her older brother to be extremely intoxicated in their house and make both of her grandchildren very uncomfortable. But that's for a later date.

Just wanna say how proud I am to have such a loving boyfriend who accepts me as bi. Even when I have suppressed it for so long until this year and finally accepting it. It's something I've initially felt since middle school. But due to the heavily religious environment I had to practically gaslight myself into thinking that it was "wrong" and "sinful". Even with growing to accept it now, it feels great. I'm finally feeling that attraction that I've suppressed for so long. Actually finding out who I'm attracted to physically. I've missed out on so much emotion in highschool just because I bottled this up. It feels liberating just to breathe into this. And to have a partner by my side and accepting every bit of me is so rewarding.
