summary:  vampires aren’t real. so, why is it that one visits you every night since you’ve stayed at the castle?

a/n: so this started out with me and @sugawara-sweetheart​ thirsting over kiyoko and then she sent a request to @super-noya​ who made an awesome drabble with kiyoko smut here and then i was like ‘hrrrmmm kiyoko as a hot vampire lady’ and then this happened :). also i don’t usually write nsfw or anything Vaguely Erotic so i won’t be adding my usual taglist :)

at least, that’s what everyone tells you. your nursemaid who brushes your hair before bed and dresses you up the next day. your father, who sent you off to this foreign place to marry a man you never met. your future husband and fiancee who is much older than you and had more than his fair share of young wives. vampires aren’t real. just creatures made up by old wives meant to scare young children into not leaving their beds at night. you had long grown out of such tales. almost everything from your girlhood, actually, ever since you packed away your toys and dresses with frills in a box and left, to stay in the castle that you would call home for the rest of your life.

I'm not a lawyer, so don't come at me, but I'm pretty sure I can find a canonical reason (in comicverse) why the Joker doesn't fuck with the IRS.

For the IRS, if you plead Mental Illness in regards to not paying taxes, they don't test you for competency by way of a psychological evaluation.

They conduct an investigation into your business affairs while ill.

Which means they could, potentially, shoot his insanity plea out of the water in a court of law. If the IRS can prove that, per his business transactions and deliberate actions to hide them, he was in full knowledge of the consequences of his actions and had the ability to plan ahead, that could put a serious hole in Joker's loophole he keeps using.

This opens him up to being actually charged for all the murder he's committed. Instead of just being carted off to Arkham on Diminished Responsibility, he'd be liable for the death penalty.

My reasoning being that while the IRS might not have enough to jail him for tax evasion, the court decision saying he's responsible enough to have a clear understanding of what he was doing could be used in another court case against Joker.

It sets precedent.

There's probably a slew of IRS agents in Gotham just watching every single financial move Joker makes, waiting for even the slightest fuck up.

Again I'm not a lawyer, don't yell at me I just had a thought :(

From his position, Steve only has an oblique view of Bucky’s face, which is mostly in the dark anyway – the strong line of his jaw, a smudge of grease on his cheekbone, a sweaty lock of hair curling on his forehead, his mouth pouting in concentration. Steve itches to draw him, to take out his battered sketchbook and reproduce that instant of perfect imperfection. You all remember how in s2e3, Jim was almost about to actually tell Stede what happened? They start in with "yeah, Stede, there's no easy way to say this, but" before Frenchie interrupts them with "he retired." And I'm sure it would've been just horrendous for the mental health of everyone present but I do really want to hear what Jim was planning to say.

"There's no easy way to say this, but we did beat him to death 😐"

"Sorry, Stede, I know he was the love of your life but he was becoming rapidly more and more self-desctructive and was threatening to kill us if we didn't kill him first. Anyway this soup is good yeah?"
