if a teenager is at your door and they are wearing a costume!! please give them candy!! they are still in it for the halloween spirit and it honestly no different from a little kid in a costume. they are just as excited and happy as all the other lil tykes and dont you dare tell them they are “too old for trick-or-treating” because that will literally break their hearts and that’s not cool.

Happy Moon Day!
Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?

This! I may not agree with everything that is on AO3, but it is specifically the site that is welcoming and open to everything. Pushing certain content off of whatever site you aware on, fanfiction.net/wattpad, etc. is why AO3 was created. When you allow and encourage censorship, not only are you harming creators and the consumers, but you are helping to erode our free speech, even if that free speech is a BDSM fanfic of Starker (the romantic relationship between Peter Parker and Tony Stark, a personal dislike of my own, but that’s neither here or there, I still support one’s freedom to create and consume that content).
And to be clear, you do not need to see any of the ‘icky’ content on AO3, or any of the content you don’t want to see, for whatever reason. AO3 has an amazing system of sorting and filtering out fics/content that you either want to see or don’t. They have filters for specific tropes, tags, ships, and fandom. And it’s my experience that the creators on AO3 are really great at using them. You just have to utilize them for yourself, and stop complaining when content you don’t want to see pops up when you didn’t filter it out in the first place.
Be smart, use the tools a site gives you and don’t complain when you don’t and then see content you don’t want to see.
"Why can't the freaks on AO3 just go and make a site for all the gross stuff and leave AO3 alone."
Because AO3 is that site. Because AO3 was that site long before you decided AO3 was better than the sites you bullied us off of before, and I can promise you if someone somehow comes up with a fanfic site you like better specifically for the 'gross stuff' you'll try to bully us off that too so you can benefit from it.
AO3's specific core purpose is to preserve fanfiction, yes, but it was also instigated as a host site for the fanfiction that kept getting yeeted off other platforms like Wattpad. Its designed to preserve all fanfiction, not just the fanfiction you, personally, think is 'allowed' to be written.
AO3 is the site for all the gross stuff the freaks make. We've been there just as long as you. We've been funding it just as long as you have. AO3 has specifically said you have a place here. The timeline was literally:
Wattpad/FF.net/LiveJournal purge fanfics > AO3 is born > The people who's fics got purged moved over to AO3 > AO3 gains popularity as the best functioning site > The people who pushed for the fics to be purged off Wattpad move to AO3 > The same people try to push for AO3 to purge fics.
AO3's source coding is open-access. You go make a polished, strict, rigid site where nothing 'icky' is allowed. You go make a site where you can control what is hosted. We already have our space.

THIS! I create fan fictions, not anywhere near the level of talent and skill the creators of movies like these, but if I created content for someone, only to have them scrap the entire thing due to wanting tax write offs, I would be in tears. No ones work should be scrapped for tax purposes
So apparently another whole ass animated scooby doo movie was canceled, this time featuring Krypto the Superdog, but it leaked onto 4chan and was uploaded onto the internet archive

I just finished two, drastically different romance books, and I came to a realization.
The wild, passionate love most romance stories, and movies, portray is good, amazing at times. The wild passionate speeches in the rain, the running through air ports before the other leaves, and the burning need for each other is amazing.
But I have found that the quiet romance is so much more. The fact that they know how their partner takes their drink, the seeing a cute animal and having to show their partner. Coming down for breakfast and realizing that they never want another morning without one another. That is the romance that just kills me.
Because you can have wild passion and burning desire, but it is not often that you can find someone who you would be perfectly happy to wake up next to every morning, to have a quiet breakfast in. To just be happy, the two of you, for the rest of your lives.

Heaven is not a punch card.
I’m not really religious, but I recently had an interaction with the church due to a family event. And it made me think.
It feels like we are told by the church and those who believe in heaven that if we want to get in, if we don’t want to suffer for the rest of eternity, we have to preform good deeds, be good people by our actions, and those “good actions” are defined by the church. There is a set checklist, or punch card you have to fill out in order to go to heaven. And that’s just stupid to me.
I agree you should be a good person, but no one beach of church, organization, congregation, or social group should dictate what that is and what it means to you.
A church might ask me to shun my neighbor because they live a life of “sin”, (such as being LGBTQIA+), but that isn’t right. While they might agree that shunning someone is a “good action” I and a lot of people may not. The belief that there is a certain set of actions that you must take in order to be a good person deserving of heaven is ridiculous.
You should always strive to be the the best person you can, to put out and receive positive actions, to strive to better the lives of people, genuinely, and what is best for them, by their decisions.
That should be the “requirement” to go to heaven, to not be tortured for the rest of time. Not some set of checklist or card punch.
Just be a good human being, that is all the world asks of you.
