Golden Globes 2018

There is nothing I love more than seeing a room full of artists gathered together celebrating each other. Each artist in that room this evening was different in their own way; from Lady Bird’s to crazy figure skaters who want to be on top, to people from a small town in Missouri, and, to the brutalities of being a coloured person in the mid 1900s. The list goes on and on. I especially love hearing and seeing that in half of the speeches said tonight, they mentioned using your voice, something God gave you, to speak out to arrogance, evil, and demise. Again, the list goes on. Oprah Winfrey, you are truly and utterly a star. Your seeping kindness and eye for a better future is purely contagious. You are and will be remembered as a positive and endearing member of Hollywood. It is people like you who give Hollywood it’s good grace and name. You will undoubtedly be recorded as one of the most influential, inspiring, and best role models that any woman or man, child or teen, girl or boy, should have. And I say this with true passion and confidence: Oprah, thank you. Thank you for overcoming everything a doubter said you couldn’t, for proving women are just as capable as successors, business”women”, and speakers. Most of all, thank you for being you.

To every actor, actress, director, composer, and many more, thank you for making me fall in love with film again. Thank you for relighting the flame that has always been inside of me everytime I watch a good film. Thank you for encouraging me to do the unspeakable. And to the stars- thank you for using your fame, fortune and status as a tool to speak of freedom, peace, strength and equality. It is using your power as a strength; as an advantage.

And finally, thank you Oprah. 💖
