nrrrghhgh i found a way i can eat eggs that isn't just straight raw but have only two left to cook for the week

eggs are icky* unless they're stirred into rice with shoyu...OR they're soft-boiled and then marinated overnight! i could eat nothing but marinated eggs forever....
wonder if i could lose more weight that way.....?
*if it isn't the smell, it's the texture. eggs is weird, man. i'm weird.
#i love living in the first world#posty#i forgot poached is also good.......#broken over kalua pig aaaaaaa#getting hungry just thinking about it#i have also forgotten how to write#like actually#always taking book recs :'D

I expected this 2013 home to be a bland, ranch style, but I wasn't prepared for the interior. In fact, it's not even a ranch inside. Located in Lyndon, KS, it has 2bds, 2ba, 1,525sqft, $215k and it's got a pending sale.
The reason it's not a ranch is b/c they used the metal shell, but dug a deep hole inside, allowing them to actually add a 2nd floor. I guess it's kind of clever, but some of the work is shoddy. I actually like the entrance, with the exception of wolf draped over the railing.
So, the main floor is below grade. That wall looks unfinished, and so does the ceiling, though.
So, this floor is an open living room/kitchen.
The kitchen is quite large.
As you can see, the back door in the kitchen also has stairs, but the fridge is slightly in the way.
The mezzanine on the 2nd level is over the kitchen and living room.
There must be something going on behind that living room wall, the angle of it doesn't look right.
So here we are on the mezzanine.
It's pretty spacious up here, a family room.
Looking down from the mezzanine, you can see that there's something behind that wall. It's the garage.
You can tell that this is the main part of the actual house b/c it's a metal structure and the walls are bare metal.
They put up some wainscoting and a wall, b/c the structure was originally meant to be an open barn. I'm wondering if there's insulation.
In bath #1 they made a sink out of a bureau and it looks like they plastered the wall.
They fashioned a shower from corrugated metal, but I can't understand why they also used wood.
Bedroom #2 looks larger.
This is bath #2.
The shower is done differently in here. I don't know what they used on the wall. But, I hope it's not dry wall.
The washer/dryer is in here, too.
This storage room must be located somewhere on the 2nd floor.
This is the garage. It's half garage/half rec room.
They've got a makeshift bar.
It can be used as a 2 car garage.
Nice deck on the back of the house.
And, as the listing describes it, a tastefully done yard with a chain link fence.
0.98 acre lot.
Wow, look at how flat the land is.

Stole brought home some long-expired workplace coffee last month. I'm saving a ton of money on morning caffeine this way, but good gravy it tastes horrendous. The salt and assorted other spices I like to add are only a slight improvement. Is this.....bachi.........?

It's been a pretty grueling week, hasn't it? Come and forget the day's cares with Atta and Bort! Maybe they'll share their snacks if you ask nicely.

It was a good read, worth it! Definitely interesting. And definitely very very Mormon XD
Lots of little ways- end of days preppers, “reincarnation”, space travel, everyone having a planet they lived on that fit for them, age gaps, self sacrifice, love for motherhood, family, the perpetual happiness of the souls and the human’s unnerved response (I have lived in Utah and the constant smiles of Mormons is definitely unusual!)
I don’t think it’s meant to be on the nose, more so I assume she’s just writing from cultural ideas she’s grown up with. But it’s not bad at all. It’s interesting, and I love the description for the worms. They sound so pretty :D
Thank you again for the link!
Man, I finally got to finishing it the other day. Got a bit too teary-eyed in a few too many places. Poor Walter 😭 Most of my Mormon knowledge comes from the musical, but soul culture and Wanda's struggle to coexist were strangely familiar. I'll be thinking about this story for a long time.
Absolutely worth it. I'm glad we found it 🤌
#'jared'#'would you still love me if i were a worm jared'#posty#lol the age gap thing sailed right over my head#up until the epilogue

So.....I decided to stop pretending I have good taste and downloaded a copy of Stephanie Meyer's The Host. I'm sad to say I kinda like it so far. Love it, even.
The idea of some alien worm coping with human life as she vicariously falls in love with her host's memory (a memory!) is so sweet that I can overlook the YA-schlock writing. It's a story that I would've liked to tell, especially with my parasitoid gal Jan Hayes here.

The book was apparently a flop, so maybe I can do that without anyone noticing.
Come to think of it............I was in eighth grade or so when The Host was published. At that time, I had this hangup over the whole concept of love (heh). Hated romance in all its forms. Couldn't think about love, couldn't speak of it without crying. If I had to write the word, it needed to be in a cipher so I wouldn't immediately recognize it. When my English teacher noticed, she took me aside to ask about my relationship with God:
"Ant, what's the matter? God is love. What's so wrong with you that you're shying from God?"
Something along those lines. I'm not sure that was quite it, even if my faith was pretty tenuous back then. But it's nice to look back and realize that despite myself, I have changed over the years. Maybe even for the better, ha ha!!1
Will need to find something more substantial to fill my brain holes when I'm through reading this. :'D
#twilight with yeerks#posty#ant recommends#actual reviews should belong to this tag#but tbh this and the other AR post are just a piddly endorsement + anecdote#any analyses would just be me talking out of my ass#as always when i get thunkful tbh#'are the souls......an lds allegory?'
