New Shoes (poem)

Today I bought new shoes

I needed new shoes for a while now I suppose,

I hadn't noticed until my eyes finally began to see the wear and tear,

The worn down sole, the separation,

Maybe my eyes didn't want to see what was obvious to everyone else

After all, this was the last thing I had of you before you died,

I had nothing else left of you but the shoes you bought me

It broke something in me to see the damages,

As if I had somehow desecrated some part of you,

These are all I have left,

And now they are falling apart,

Just like we did,

You loved me and I couldn't let go of the past, I couldn't let you in

I was scared you would disappear again.

Today I bought new shoes,

My favorite colors and a perfect fit,

They show no signs of you

And I'm scared to wear them, in fear of losing you

Maybe I can buy laces that were your favorite color?

You're still with me, I know you are

— manages to clasp your bra in the end, after a little fumbling because of how much his hands are trembling.

— when you turn around and hold his hands, he buries his head in your bare shoulder and relaxes a little.

— please tell him how well he’s doing, he’s so shy.

— he is more excited to go lingerie shopping than you, which is concerning /lh but you’ll leave him be because he’s cute.

— wants to buy some for himself to match with yours, and he totally looks good in it.

— venti is very touchy and affectionate, so it will be hard for him to keep his hands to himself when you look so dazzling with so little clothing.

— again, he is a cutie, you can’t resist that sweet smile of his and big teal eyes.

— if you want to see him blush, boop his nose and kiss near his lips as you call him your angel. he gets all smiley and excited.

— pouts all the time because why do you need to buy undergarments? you look most beautiful with no clothing at all anyway.

— but oh, when you peek your head out of the changing room. he’s running to you because “what if someone sees you like this?” you are his only, no one else is allowed to bear witness of your bare allure.

— a perfect combination of flustered mess + bold. because when you show him the new fit, his visage blooms in roses, yet a smirk cuts through his face.

— will grab your face right then and there and kiss you deeply. how dare you look so pretty?

— hurries you to go back home so he can have you all to himself, “and show you how special you are” he says, your chin held in between his fingers, midnight constellation eyes darkened in want.

SHIKANOIN HEIZOU ✧*:･ﾟ

— heizou is such a tease.

— keeps one hand in the small of your back as you browse around, his emerald eyes glinting vivaciously when he points out a piece he likes for you.

— when you try the set on… well, let’s say it’s hard to keep him from making out with you in the changing room right then and there.

— leaves teasing kisses on your neck, shoulders and collarbones, his hands greedily holding your waist. if he keeps at it, you think you’ll start having trouble keeping quiet.

— and he knows.

— so he knows when to stop too, not without whispering in your ear all the ways in which he’s going to make you say his name later, though.

ALBEDO ✧*:･ﾟ

— flusters you without even trying.

— he is so nonchalant and calm, walking around with the same grace as usual, pointing out the colors he considers would look best on you.

— holds the see-through fabric in between his hands, musing to himself “fascinating, so this kind of clothing is especially designed to keep the female anatomy secure.” please, stop him from examining the piece further before he starts getting weird looks.

— when you try it on, the alchemist’s mesmerizing gilded cyan gaze and his soft tone are enough for the heat to rise to your cheeks.

— “yes, this one suits you perfectly. if you’d allow me, i’d like to paint you like this.” he murmurs, hand running up the side of your waist.

CYNO ✧*:･ﾟ

— apparently calm, internally he’s a very bashful mess.

— tries his best, but honestly, he thinks you are pretty in anything, so asking him for advice may turn out to be a fruitless task. cyno really cares, please rest assured; it’s just he doesn’t see how a piece of clothing will change your beauty (he walks around half naked to begin with).

— when you put on the chosen underwear and ask him to enter the fitting room, he freezes in place initially.

— then, rather stiffly, he finally moves.

— his compliments come in a clearing of his throat and simple statements. his bronzed cheeks take on a pretty reddish tint when he utters: “you look beautiful”.

CHILDE ✧*:･ﾟ

— what do you want to buy? just say the word and childe will get it for you, no matter how expensive it is.

— this man loves, LOVES going lingerie shopping with you.

— gets to see you in pretty and barely no clothes at all, and can make you flustered with his charms? total win-win for him.

— ajax holds you by the hips and rests his forehead against yours when you show him the new fit. lovestruck smile on his face, eyes closed, he whispers: “my pretty, pretty girl.”

— compliments you every time you try on something, even if it is not your correct size, or you don’t like the design on you, kaeya always, always, will remind you how gorgeous and perfect you are to him.

— if he has to help you put on some more complicated sets, his hands linger for a little longer than necessary, followed by kisses to the back of your neck.

— you are simply irresistible to him, and he’ll be damned before a second passes without you knowing.

ALHAITHAM ✧*:･ﾟ

— this man brings a book to the shop. there will be time while you try on different things, so why not spend those moments reading instead of waiting idly?

— at first glance, you might think he has no idea about women’s lingerie whatsoever. wrong. somehow, he ends up being right in all his choices when you question him between this set or this other.

— alhaitham’s calm demeanor puts you at ease too. he’s so cool and composed, he makes you feel like you’ll look good in anything you try on.

— very focused and attentive when you show him what you’re trying on. his eyes of turquoise and ember will scan you intently, before advising and complimenting you.

— if you are indecisive because you like two (or more) fits, he’ll buy both of them for you.

— your sparkly eyes and the wide smile on your lips are contagious to the scribe, the ghost of a smile of his own tugging at the corners of his lips.

Thinking about how fucking ballsy it was that AA4 introduced the hero, the Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright, as a disgraced, lying, cheating ex-lawyer turned gambler with a daughter and a drinking problem. And the new protagonist, Apollo Justice, is so disappointed in him that he punches him in the fucking face. What an amazing start to a continuation of everyone's favorite lawyer series. AA4 is criminally underrated.
