About the new official art

Recently this new official art was released, and people have voiced their complaints regarding a specific aspect of the drawing. The things Mori and Rimbaud are holding.

People have taken this as sexualization of the characters, which, frankly I think is ridiculous. Bungou Stray Dogs is known not to be overly sexual (well... Minus Naomi and Junichirou...) And suddenly bringing this in with a young Dazai and Chuuya seems bizarre.

They've not been quiet when showing ship fanservice, dropping bits with Chuuya and Dazai that can be construed as being hints of a past or current relationship, and minus that scene in Dead Apple with Chuuya post corruption, its not sexual. In fact, it is generally fairly comedic or even romantic.

What I'm saying is that this wasn't meant to be seen as sexual.

They haven't much been sexualized in the show or manga, so why start now? Frankly, I believe its more metaphorical, that Mori and Rimbaud have them whipped. Rimbaud and Mori both are the reasons they ever joined the Port Mafia, so it makes sense. People are just seeing it as sexual because of... Well... BDSM. But it's not intended as such.

While everyone is so upset over this art that isn't inherently inappropriate, we're seriously missing out on an awesome AU idea.

This is a chance to mesh two awesome series together, and we're ignoring that to be mad about something? Really? Come on! This has so much potential to be good! Demon Dazai, Demon Mori... Either could have summoned the other! Its an amazing opportunity for great Fanart and Fanfiction, but we're pretending this art doesn't exist?

Realize this arts potential to give artists ideas for creating fan works!
