I don’t get some “fans” of Star Wars. Imagine you were an orphan and your biggest goal in life was finding your family. Then you eventually learn you have inherent power and this great world saving hero comes along to teach you. When you’re not being taught, the family of the great hero is taking you under their wing.

The great hero passes on leaving you completely alone in standing up against great evils. It just so happens Fascist McFascist, one of the foes pushed back by the great hero, is back and wants to regain power. What’s worse is you find out you’re actually biologically related to Fascist McFascist. You’re able to use the power brought to you by the great hero in order to defeats Fascist McFascist once and for all.

Now that it’s all said and done, it’s time for you to pick a last name. Which do you pick?

- The last name of not just the hero that made you into a hero yourself in order to destroy the evil. The last name of the only remaining member of the group which title you now carry. The last name responsible for that being true in the first place, thus redeeming it as well.

- McFascist because he was your grandpa. Even if the only time you’ve ever met him you were trying to murder each other, and he’s not only just a fascist, he’s like the worst one.

the theme is star wars women of color who deserved better

further Star Wars positivity post: the whole wampa sublot at the beginning of ESB doesn't add anything to the plot but it does serve to convey how close Luke, Han & Leia have all got since the previous movie; we see Han being willing to risk freezing to death to save Luke & Leia's genuine devastation when she's forced to order them locked out of the base overnight. this is all very important given that they're about the spend the rest of the movie split up into separate plot threads but w their friendship being absolutely vital to the climax.

leia organa truly has one of the best bait-and-switch character introductions of all time because when you meet her she's this brave, stoic picture of elegance and justice and always knows just what to say to vader and tarkin and is clad in white like an angel and is this perfect two-dimensional archetype of pureness of heart. and then approximately half an hour later into the film she meets luke and han and she IMMEDIATELY shows her true colors as a sarcastic, bitchy control freak with a massive impulsive streak and a deep mine of hyperspecific insults. 10/10 character design i'm obsessed with her

folks would really benefit if they stopped framing hanleia’s premarital bickering in esb as a sign of an inherent flaw in their relationship and started viewing as what it really is: two people working to tear down the public facade of the other to get at their actual heart.

every argument they have in esb is either leia actively trying to dismantle han’s tough, cocky, and aloof outer exterior and get him to admit he’s not just working with the rebellion out of convenience but because he’s actually come to care for the cause and the people fighting it (her and luke) and instead of jetting off the moment it starts getting too comfortable, he should face his fears and actually do something worthwhile with that surplus of dumb luck and hotshot charisma he oozes.

or it’s han actively trying to get leia to admit that she actually doesn’t have it all figured out!! oh she might know him like the back of her hand but she’s missing the big flashing sign right in front of her. WHY ARE YOU SO OBSESSED WITH HIM, PRINCESS?? you think maybe its because you’ve got a big ol’ crush?? oh, sure! he gets it. the rebellion takes priority, she’s all work and no play… but if thats actually the case, would it kill her to stop hounding him about how he might secretly be a good guy?? or, simpler solution, why doesnt she just admit that theres clearly a spark here??
