Something that most people don’t realize about Miya Osamu is that he’s big on romance at heart. He’s never expressed it properly due to being somewhat more stoic than his twin brother, Atsumu, but it's been confirmed since the day his love life kicked off. Back in high school, of course.
Osamu loves to plan dates.
Back when he was with his ex-girlfriend a couple years ago, he usually took liberty of planning their dates, whether it be mini-golfing, or going to a nice restaurant, he always planned it. Obviously, you’re not his ex-girlfriend, but ever since you accepted to go on a date with him, he’s been… rather stressed about it.
Basically, Osamu doesn’t know what to plan for your date, which takes place in a few days.
If you could see the man right now, he’d have his head in the palms of his hands, stressing, trying to figure out something fun, but not too cliché. Especially considering the fact that he was in his office, by himself.
At first, he planned mini-golfing. Who doesn’t love mini-golf? Unfortunately, after gaining a second opinion from Suna, he ruled it out as “too boring.” Next, he thought a picnic would be ideal for a first date. You both love food, yet it was going to be quite chilly on the day of your date. It’s not the best idea to sit outside in cold weather, as Osamu’s concern was that you might get sick from it.
The list goes on, and on of dates Osamu had thought of, but there was always something wrong with each one.
Standing up from his desk and readjusting his clothes, he walked out of his office, taking note of his employees and the amount of customers in the store. Deciding that it wasn’t busy enough for him to stay, he grabbed his keys and bid farewell to his workers, stating he was going to “take the rest of the day off.” As he got in his car, he immediately began to drive to a place that was all too familiar.
The tall, broad man was never one to make impulsive decisions. He thought almost everything through.
So why was he driving an hour and thirty minutes to Hyōgo?
𐙚 𐙚 𐙚
knock knock!
As the door creaked open, a lady with the same dark, brown hair as Osamu stood in the doorway. Her expression changed from bored, to energetic.
“Osamu!” She exclaimed with excitement, immediately wrapping her arms around the man.
“Hey, ma.” Osamu smiled lightly, mirroring her movements.
The two shared a powerful, short hug, before Mama Miya pulled away, nostrils flared, and an expression only Osamu could describe. “Why do ya never let me know yer comin’ to visit?! Ya’know, I just realized that Atsumu does the same exact thing. Ya both need to quit it.”
Osamu slightly rolled his eyes, letting himself into his childhood home and taking off his shoes. “I live here too, ya’know.”
“Lived!” Mama Miya instantly corrected.
“Oh, same thing.” The man groaned, making his way to the living room.
Although Osamu was just at his old house a little less than a week ago, due to his Hyōgo location being about a twenty minute drive, he can’t help but reminisce on some of his old memories from when he and Atsumu were children. Osamu took a seat on the L-shaped sofa, sitting on the far left side. That’s where he would always sit.
As his mother took a seat in the armchair closest to Osamu, she crossed her legs and sat straight, mocking a therapist.
“So, what’s wrong with ya?”
Osamu turned to face his mother, with a raised eyebrow. “Whaddya mean?”
“Ya have that look on yer face. That same look from when you couldn’t decide if ya wanted to continue playin’ volleyball or not.”
Osamu leaned back slowly, narrowing his eyes and neutralizing his face. “What are ya talkin’ ‘bout, ma?”
She scoffed, and crossed her arms. She knew something was up with her son, and she was determined to get the answer out of him. “Ya have an indecisive look on yer face.” She paused, grabbing a half-empty bottle of water that was beside her, and unscrewed the cap. “So, tell me what’s wrong.”
Averting his eyes, Osamu stared at the fresh flowers his mom bought for the center table in the living room. There was a reason that he had come to his old house, and it was to ask his mom where he should take you for your date. The only problem was that he never told her about you. He loves his mom, of course, but sometimes she can be a bit too… much.
Letting out a sigh, the man turned back towards his mom, who was expectantly staring at him.
“I need ya to help me.”
Mama Miya blinked repeatedly. “Okay… with what?”
“I’m takin’ a girl out on a date, and–”
She immediately flew out of her seat, and clapped ecstatically, before standing in front of her son and clasping one of his hands in hers. “Yer takin’ a girl out?! Miya Osamu! Who? When? How’d this happen?!”
Internally, Osamu wanted to crawl into the crevice of the sofa he was sitting on. Externally, he couldn’t hide the smile creeping on his face due to the pride he was experiencing. Even though the both of you have had this romantic relationship for a little over a month, he still felt like a middle schooler experiencing love for the first time whenever he was around you.
“Jeez, ma.” He chuckled, shaking his head. “Yer overwhelmin’ me.”
Finally sitting down with a humongous grin on her face, Mama Miya gestured for her son to continue speaking, showing that she was listening intently.
“Her name is [L/N] [Y/N].” Osamu started. “We met at my Onigiri Miya in Osaka, ‘cause she came in with ‘Tsumu, and Hinata.”
Nodding once, the older woman’s eyebrows scrunched together in confusion. “Hinata, the one on yer brother's team, right?” Osamu nodded. “Ah– wait, so then how does she know Atsumu and Hinata?” She continued, crossing her legs once more to make herself more comfortable.
Osamu began to tell his mom almost everything about you. From how the both of you met, to your daily visits at Onigiri Miya, to the whole problem with the two of you being on the news. It should be mentioned that Mama Miya fully believed it was Atsumu who punched the man from the club, since it seemed like something he would do. Imagine how she felt when Osamu corrected her, and told her it was the both of you.
As he continued to ramble on about his relationship with you, his mother noticed something that she’s never truly seen. Osamu had the look of love in his eyes. She knew about his past girlfriend, she knew that he did have romantic feelings for her, but none of that compares to the way he talks about you.
When Osamu decided that he’s said enough about you, he noted the way his mom stared at him softly, with the same smile on her face from before. Realizing that he was done speaking, Mama Miya cleared her throat, and uncrossed her legs.
“It seems to me like ya found a wonderful girl, hun, and the fact that she can put up with yer brother as well says a lot.”
Osamu hummed, agreeing with his mom. “[Y/N]’s one strong lady, if ya ask me.”
“Anyone that can put up with Atsumu is strong.” She responded, soliciting laughter from herself, and her son. As they both settled down, a slight perplexed look appeared on her face. Osamu almost instantly noticed this. “What’s wrong, ma?”
“The way you were talkin’ about this girl… she makes you happy, right?”
He nodded, not too sure where this was going.
“So if yer happy, then what did ya need help with?”
The brown haired man froze in his seat, realizing he completely forgot to get to the point and ask his mom about fun date ideas. He sighed, slumping slightly in his seat. “I needed help with uh, figurin’ out where ta’ take her for our first date.”
The two Miya’s stared at each other in silence. It wasn’t until the older Miya stifled a laugh, covering her mouth and eliciting a red tint covering the younger Miya’s cheeks.
“Ma!” He slightly whined in annoyance, covering the lower half of his face with one of his hands.
Quickly letting her laughter out, the older woman calmed herself down, and crossed her legs again. “Look at ya, askin’ yer mama for help. How cute!” She grabbed her bottle off the table next to her, and took a small sip of water, before setting it down. “Well, d’ya want me to tell ya about some of the dates yer dad took me on before we got married?”
“Eh, sure.” He shrugged.
“Let’s see… do ya think an amusement park would work?”
Osamu thought about it for a bit, “Nah, too extreme for a first date. Plus, it’s gonna be cold.”
“Okay, then dress up nicely, and take her to a museum.”
He could see the vision for that, unfortunately, he denied. “It’s a good idea, but that’s second or third date material in my opinion.” He shook his head, and crossed his arms.
She laughed at this. “Yer too specific, Osamu. Good for you.”
The two continued to brainstorm ideas together, ultimately coming up with over ten different types of first dates he could potentially take you on, yet, all were denied. Osamu believed that with each date planned, there was better. He thinks that you deserve the best.
Looking out the window behind him, he noticed how the blue skies turned orange, showcasing a beautiful sunset. Turning back towards his mom, he got up and walked over to her. Leaning down for a hug, he sighed softly. “It’s time for me ta’ go, ma. It’s gettin’ late.”
Wrapping her arms around him, rubbing soft circles into his back like she used to do years ago, she nodded. “If ya ever need help with [L/N], I’m here for ya, baby.”
As the two pulled away, and began to walk towards the door, Osamu slipped his shoes back on, and remembered something important. His eyes lit up as he pulled his phone out of his pocket. “Ma, let’s take a picture together.”
“Aw, of course. For the memories?” She asked, scooting herself next to Osamu, and fixing her hair whilst staring into the screen in front of her.
“Oh, sure. I wanna make ‘Tsumu jealous too. He was talkin’ ‘bout visitin’ ya.”
Mama Miya smacked Osamu’s head the same way she did when he was a child. “Get the hell outta my house.”
𐙚 𐙚 𐙚
As the sun began to disappear more from the sky, signifying that it was night, Osamu began to think of you. He knew you had a long day at work today, and at this moment, you were probably laying in bed, doom scrolling. Taking his eyes off the road for one moment, he pushed a certain button located on his steering wheel. After noticing Siri pop up on his carplay, he spoke. “Call [Y/N].”
The line began to ring, and eventually, you answered.
[bold is osamu, bold + italics is y/n]
“Hello?”
“Hey, darlin’. How are you?”
“Hi Osamu, I’m doing good. How about you?”
“I’m doin’ fine, how was work today?”
He quietly chuckled as you overdramatically sighed on the other end of the line. “Jeez, Osamu. Today seriously sucked, and it didn’t help that Atsumu wouldn’t stop asking me stupid questions.”
“What was he askin’ ya?”
“Is chicken parmesan a vegetarian meal?” You stated, copying Atsumu’s exact words. Although you couldn’t see his face, Osamu’s jaw slightly dropped, as he seemed to be disgusted. “Osamu? You there?”
“Uh, yeah… I’m just speechless. What else did that idiot ask?”
“This is verbatim, by the way.” You started, clearing your throat. “‘It’s always the male who has to take a paternity test for a baby to see if it’s his. Why is it never the woman who has to take the test?’”
Osamu couldn’t hold it in anymore, as he began to laugh. “Jesus Christ, [Y/N], are ya bein’ serious right now?” He wiped a tear from his eye.
“So serious.”
He was prepared to start a longer conversation with you, but put a hold on that as he began to think of the chicken parmesan that was mentioned earlier. Suddenly, Osamu’s eyes lit up as he had an internal realization.
He’s cooked for you many, many times, but it’s only been the foods on Onigiri Miya’s menu. Since discovering his love for pleasing people with his cooking, he’s finally figured out what to do for the awaited first date. His idea was perfect, and without a second thought, he spoke.
“[Y/N].”
“Yeah?”
He smirked slightly. “I have a plan for the date.”
“What is it?”
“I’m cookin’ us a three course dinner at my apartment. I’m settin’ the dress code to…” He thought for a second, taking his opportunity to see you more dressed up. “Formal. Is that okay with you?”
“Absolutely.”

Four days after the meeting, the day of MSBY’s home game.
Multiple events, positive and negative, had occurred throughout the past couple of days. Who would’ve thought that going to one of Osaka’s most popular bars could result in a scandal? Especially one that you were involved in. Thankfully, as word got around that it was Osamu that had done the damage for your safety, many social media audiences began to ease up on MSBY, and although past events have yet to die down permanently, it’s been steadily decreasing in popularity.
Reason one, because it quickly turned into a non-celebrity issue, and reason two, there are now more important things for everyone, including yourself, to focus on. Specifically MSBY's home game against EJP Raijin, from Shizuoka.
You were currently overseeing the pre-game interviews alongside a few of your coworkers. Multiple news reporters and journalists were present, asking multiple questions to a couple of the older MSBY players.
It had been going on for about forty minutes, unfortunately increasing your boredom as every second passed.
buzz!
Since you were on the side, and out of camera view, you pulled out your phone from your black MSBY jacket, and looked to see who had texted you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you silently sighed of relief, a thought of confusion ran through your mind.
‘It’s like he knew I was bored… weird…’
You put your phone back into your pocket, and eyed the room full of people, making sure nobody had their eyes on you. Once the coast was clear, you began to walk against the wall and to the door in a hurry, making minimal noise.
The reason you asked Hinata if Atsumu was present or not created a small feeling of guilt within you. Ever since you, and both twins had to meet with MSBY’s publicist, you haven’t spoken to Atsumu since that day, giving him the space he desired. Practices hadn’t all been that weird, but moments of awkwardness would arise if you happened to get a bit too close to him.
Moving on to Osamu, the both of you essentially decided to continue your situationship with each other, yet agreed to take a small break to let everything sink in. Everything was made easier due to the fact that Osamu had to take a small trip to Tokyo to solve a small conflict at his somewhat newly opened Onigiri Miya for about a week. Regardless of this, you both still made an effort to text each other at least once a day to check up on the latter.
You thought that a bit of separation would help let everything ease in, but truth to be told, you miss him. A lot more than you would’ve liked.
As you opened the doors with the sign ‘Gym 2,’ you immediately noticed three men standing towards the middle of the court, two of which were wearing a lively yellow jacket, different from the standard gold that MSBY wears. The other was none other than Hinata, who had an intrigued expression on his face.
When you stepped inside, all attention was immediately turned towards you, with Hinata acting as excited as ever.
“[L/N]!” he shouted, lightly jogging over to you.
You lifted up one of your hands and slightly waved as a greeting towards the ginger, with a smile on your face.
He quickly grabbed onto your shoulders as soon as he became within reach, and almost instantly, a serious expression plagued his face.
“Listen, I told you I wanted to introduce you to one of my friends, but one of my other friends came out of nowhere, so now you get to meet both of them. Okay?” He asked, slightly shaking your body.
“Yes sir.” You rolled your eyes, and answered sarcastically, taking his hands off your shoulders.
The both of you quickly walked over, and were greeted by the two other men with a bow, to which you reciprocated.
“This is Komori Motoya, he’s EJP’s libero, and surprisingly enough, Sakusa’s cousin.” Hinata pointed at the brown haired man, who in your opinion, was tall for a libero.
“Wait, you’re Sakusa’s cousin?” It was now you that spoke, a surprised look on your face. He looked nothing like him, physically, and mentally, to the best of your judgement.
Komori chuckled, and rubbed the back of his head with a happy, carefree expression on his face. “Yes, I am. We both went to Itachiyama together. It’s nice to meet you, [L/N]!”
“Ah, I see. It’s nice to meet you as well, Komori.”
“Aaaand this lanky guy is Suna Rintaro!” Hinata moved his pointed finger to the left of Komori (your right), and continued. “He’s EJP’s middle blocker, and he went to high school with Atsumu and Osamu at Inarizaki.”
As you kept that same welcoming smile on your face, you could feel your heart drop and slightly begin to pound due to the mention of the Miya twins. As you quickly observed the man in front of you, you couldn’t help but notice he kept his eyes on you in a way you didn’t know how to describe. He stared at you like… he already knew you?
Assuming that you’re just being paranoid for no reason, you muttered out a small “Nice to meet you, Suna.” yet he kept his eyes on you as he hummed for a response.
“Um…” You started, looking at the three volleyball players in front of you. “You guys excited for the game?”
“Yes, I can’t wait to beat EJP!” Hinata shouted, with two thumbs up accompanying his short stature. You giggled as Komori lightly slapped Hinata’s shoulder as a response to his statement, responding with a small “You wish!”
The four of you began to engage in small talk, moreso, Hinata, Komori, and yourself were talking with a few small remarks from Suna here and there. Knowing that Suna was, and probably still is, friends with Osamu changed everything for you, as he hadn’t properly introduced you to his circle yet.
A couple minutes passed by, and Komori had asked Hinata to show him where the bathrooms were. Your muscles stiffened at this, realizing you and Suna would have to be left alone, which was not ideal at all.
As the two of them exited the practice gym, you were left shifting from one foot to the other, waiting for Suna to say something.
Anything.
Yet, that never happened.
You watched as he looked around the gym, hands in his pockets, most likely staring at some of the nearby banners on the walls, as you were just utterly shocked by the audacity. The audacity of him not even trying to speak to you.
“So…” You started, resulting with him immediately turning his whole face to you, maintaining eye contact. The previous smile on your face was meant to give off a relaxed impression, yet that was quickly replaced with a tight-lipped gesture of uncomfortable acknowledgement.
You looked around the gym hoping to gain inspiration from anything, and that’s when your eyes landed on a banner showing a certain blonde-haired setter. You slightly grimaced at this, but was thankful for it because of the inspiration you gained.
“What was highschool like with Atsumu?” You had finally continued your sentence, firmly placing your hands behind your back.
Suna had raised an eyebrow at this. “It was whatever. Atsumu hasn’t changed a bit, so…”
“Oh yeah? How?” You countered.
“Atsumu’s still a big fat jerk.”
You snorted with laughter, almost instantly covering your mouth. Before you could internally berate yourself, Suna had finally shown an expression of comedic relief on his face.
“Atsumu can be a jerk sometimes.” You agreed, letting out some of your past emotions. “But he’s still a nice guy. He was my first friend when I got hired to work for MSBY.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.” You confirmed, but hesitated for a bit before speaking once more. “He was a jerk at first, though.” This time, a small chuckle was brought out of Suna. Obviously, you hadn’t known him for long, but he didn’t seem like an easy guy to elicit a reaction from. As he had calmed down, silence took over once again.
This time, it wasn’t as uncomfortable as before, but you would’ve liked to start another conversation with him about something.
“So, how’s Osamu doing?” The same voice from earlier spoke.
For some reason, you could feel yourself glitch internally. A confused smile was placed on your face as multiple thoughts began to run through your head.
“How’s– what?” You asked, keeping that same expression on your face.
“How is Miya Osamu doing? Ya’know, Atsumu’s twin?”
“I know who Osamu is.”
“Then why didn’t you answer my question when I first asked it?”
You deadpanned, pausing to think of an answer. “Well… he’s your friend, right? You should know how he’s doing.”
A small, yet mischievous smirk appeared on Suna’s face as he leaned closer to you, dropping his hands to his side. “You’re right. Yet, you seem to be much closer to him than I am.”
You stared at the middle blocker directly in the eyes whilst swallowing a lump in your throat. He knows about you and Osamu? Since when? As numerous thoughts about the situation popped up, you could see a slight glimmer of amusement in Suna’s eyes.
“Calm down, [L/N]. Why are you tensing up?”
“I’m not tense.” You replied in that instant.
“Osamu told me about you when you guys first met.” He responded, putting his hands in his pockets. A feeling of increased confidence suddenly surged through your body, causing your eyes to widen ever so slightly. Yet, you stayed silent, thinking about your recent lack of communication with one another.
“It’s not my place to really say anything but, um,” Suna took his hands out of his pocket, and began to zip up his EJP jacket. “He likes you. A lot.”
A hint of pink began to creep upon your cheeks, but you didn’t care.
“Is that so?” You asked softly.
“He talks about you whenever he gets the chance, and frankly enough, it’s getting irritating.”
You scoffed lightly at this, crossing your arms. “Wow, thank you!”
“Yeah, no problem.”
Suna looked towards the clock on the wall, signalling that it was time for him to leave. He politely bowed to you, and as he turned on his heel to walk towards the door. You watched him walk away, and as he approached the door, you suddenly blurted out a question you weren’t even thinking about.
“Wait, has he talked about me these past few days?” You slightly shouted, loud enough for Suna, and only Suna to hear. He looked at you over his shoulder, same neutral expression on his face as you began to speed walk over to him.
“Yeah. He said he felt bad about the whole club thing.”
You sighed lightly at this, looked down at your feet and muttered out a small ‘fuck.’ An internal realization came to you at this moment: You truly didn’t want what you have with Osamu to end at all.
Looking back up at Suna, a small smile appeared on your face. “Good luck during the game. You’re gonna need it.” Suna rolled his eyes, and turned back towards the door, opening it and exiting the gym. “Yeah, right.” He loudly scoffed.
Now that you were by yourself in the gym, you began to reflect on the past month, perhaps a bit more, you’ve been with Osamu. Having been to Onigiri Miya more times than you could count, you became extremely aware of the fact that you’ve actually never gone on an actual date with him. How could you not have noticed this until now? I mean, you’re both busy people with jobs, but regardless, you both simultaneously made time for FaceTime calls.
Pulling out your phone, you hesitated for a moment, before ultimately texting Osamu and attempting to break your distance with one another.
Tumblr media
Immediately putting your phone on do not disturb, you exited the gym and began to walk towards the main arena, since the game was set to start in one hour. You had decided on the way that you would deal with Atsumu’s antics later, and now begin to focus primarily on doing your best to monitor the game.
15:17.
Score: MSBY, 3. EJP, 2.
The crowd watching erupted into cheers, celebrating MSBY’s victory against EJP Raijin. As all of the sweaty men shook hands with each other, you stood by Coach Foster, clapping due to the victory, as well as the amusement you’ve been given from this game. It was a pretty close game, but thanks to Atsumu’s quick thinking in the last set, MSBY was able to gain a two-point lead, guiding his team to victory.
As the announcer thanked the audience for coming to watch the game, everybody had soon begun to disperse, except for the Black Jackals. This was your cue to leave the gym, and if you would like, the stadium in general, since you weren’t tasked with creating any content for this game. Usually, you would wait for your friends to come out so you would congratulate them, but, there’s different circumstances. Letting out a small groan, you made your way through one of the doors on the court, and exited through a small hallway, leading you to the first floor of the main area, showing some audience members waiting to take a picture with the players. Ultimately deciding you would wait for your friends, you began to walk around for a bit.
After remembering that your phone was on DND, you swiftly grabbed it out of your back pocket, looking through your notifications, with a couple standing out to you.
‘osamu; 4 missed calls.’
As you stared at these calls, you could feel your heart begin to swell with nervousness. Did something happen? You quickly pressed on one of the missed calls and held your phone up to your ear, speed walking to a more deserted part of the commons area.
[bold is y/n, bold + italics is osamu]
“[Y/N].”
A male voice was heard on the end of the receiver. The male voice you’ve been craving to hear for days caused your heart to flutter.
“Osamu, what’s wrong?” You asked with genuine concern.
“Are ya still in the stadium?”
“Uh, y-yeah.” You coughed away from the phone to clear your throat. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, but listen, do ya’know where my concession stand is?”
“It’s by the yakitori concession on the second floor, right?”
“Right. Can ya start making yer way there?”
Your chest began to grow tight, heat flowing throughout your body. “Why?” You quietly questioned. “I think the floor is closed.”
You could hear a small chuckle from the other end. “Yer a JVA employee, ain’t ya?”
“Well… yeah, but–”
“No buts. Go to the second floor.”
click!
You stared at your phone, which now showed your lock screen. Taking a deep breath in, you walked towards the escalators, which were being guarded by two hefty security men. As you showed them your JVA badge, they let you up with no problem.
As you slowly ascended to the second floor, your heart kept the same, fast-tempo beats you were feeling earlier. Internally, you were absolutely bouncing up and down.
Reaching the second floor, you looked to your right, as you had forgotten which side Onigiri Miya was on. It’s also to be noted that the floor was completely empty. Like, nobody around at all since it seemed that all the concession stands were closed. Realizing Onigiri Miya wasn’t on the right, you turned towards the left, only to be met with an all too familiar male figure in the distance.
He was standing in front of Onigiri Miya, facing towards you holding something rather large… and pink in his hands. From what you could tell, he was wearing baggy black jeans, with a grey sweater, and underneath, a white undershirt which slightly peeked out. You were half admiring the outfit, half scolding yourself for not looking as presentable.
Overwhelmed, you stood still. Almost immediately, you recognized the male figure as Osamu, whom you have craved to see for days.
As he began to walk towards you, your body almost instantly followed his movements. The closer the two of you got, the more you could see clearly. He was holding a bouquet, with all of the most gorgeous flowers, such as stargazer lilies, baby’s breath, daisies, and pink peonies, wrapped in a beautiful pale pink paper, tied with a silk, white ribbon.
Soon enough, the two of you stood in front of one another, mere inches apart.
Your mouth opened, but nothing came out. In truth, you didn’t know what to say. He had a toothy grin on his face, as well as a small amount of red painting his cheeks. The smell of his cologne was intoxicating you in the way that you liked, re
“Hello, [Y/N].” He spoke first, radiating euphoric energy.
Finally, words came out. But, not the words you expected. “I thought you were in–”
“Mmhm, I was.” Osamu interrupted, still smiling lightly.
“What are you doing here, Osamu?”
He looked down towards the flowers, then back up to you. He stared into your eyes as if he was hypnotized by you. “Well, I’m here ta’ ask ya on a date.”
As much as you wanted to take this situation seriously, your lips began to upturn into an uncontrollable smile. “Oh?”
He nodded once.
“This isn’t how I wanted ta’ ask ya, but I wasn’t gonna let ya beat me to it.”
Without realizing it, your bodies moved together, closer to one another as though you were being pulled to each other. As you looked down, eyeing the flowers, and admiring their beauty, Osamu’s gaze stayed on you, holding an affectionate intensity towards you. As he held out the flowers with both hands, you looked back up at him and accepted, your hands brushing against his.
You put the flower in between your left arm, and waist as a way to balance it, finally hooking your right arm around your neck and pulling him into a hug. A hug that he wasn’t going to deny. As he wrapped both of his hands around your waist, leaning into the crook of your neck, you let out a breath you didn’t even know you were holding in.
“I can’t believe you came from Hyogo just to counter ask me out.” You lightly huffed, whispering affectionately in a joking manner. “You could’ve waited until you finished business, ya’know.”
Osamu began to pull away, keeping one hand on your waist, and moving the other to your face, brushing a stray lock out of the way and moving it behind your ear, his hand remaining on your cheek.
“Yeah, but I couldn’t wait.” His voice hushed, as a way to express tenderness.
As the energy between the two of you shifted to something more intimate, your gazes locked, and time seemed to pause. It was just the two of you in this very moment as your faces grew close together, until your lips interlocked in a soft, yet passionate kiss. The movements between the two of you were synchronized. Your pulse raced as butterflies flew throughout your stomach, noticing how soft Osamu’s lips were.
Even though there was nothing in the world to describe how badly you wanted this kiss to last for eternity, you slowly pulled away as your eyes fluttered open. Immediately noticing the red hue on his cheeks, your smile grew larger.
“So, uh–” Osamu cut himself off, coughing as an attempt to clear his throat from the newfound nervousness he was experiencing. “How ‘bout that date?”
“What?”
“The date… ya didn’t say yes or no.”
Almost instantly deadpanning, you lightly slapped his chest. “I just let you kiss me. If that’s not enough for a ‘yes,’ then I don’t know what is.”
Osamu hummed amusingly as he wrapped his muscular arm around you, guiding you to the escalator to descend to the first floor.
“My mom taught me ta’ never assume.”
You sighed dramatically, looking back at the bouquet once more. “Yes, I’ll go on a date with you.” Without warning, Osamu kissed your forehead lightly, eliciting a pink tint on your cheeks.
“What was that for?” You asked accusingly.
You could feel the man beside you shrug. “Dunno. Yer very kissable.”
Letting out a small ‘ugh,’ the both of you stepped on the escalator, using this opportunity as a way to look over the handle to see if any fans were still around, and to your (somewhat) surprise, there was nobody. Except, as the closer you got down to the first place, the closer several male voices got to you and Osamu. These voices were easily recognizable as members of MSBY.
“Guess I should congratulate ‘Tsumu.” Osamu muttered, noticing the voices as well.
Humming in approval, and looking back at the bouquet for the nth time, you pointed out a very obvious fact. “He’s gonna ask about the flowers.”
“Yeah.” Osamu paused for a second, looking over the railing on your side of the escalator. “I’ll just tell him I asked ya out on a date.”
Averting his eyes towards you, he could see your nose slightly scrunch up, knowing that you were most likely thinking about the reaction Atsumu was going to give this time.
“I don’t think he’ll be upset, [Y/N].”
You looked up at Osamu, slight confusion plaguing your mind. “Really? I still feel kinda bad, to be honest.”
“He’s a grown man, ya’know.”
Simultaneously stepping off the escalator, Osamu removed his arms from your body as you both walked to the right, to be met with Inunaki, Hinata, Atsumu, and Barnes about to walk directly past you. Unfortunately for you, that wasn’t an option as they all immediately noticed Osamu, yourself, and the big bouquet of flowers you were holding.
A moment of silence passed, as all men besides Atsumu let out a “OOOOOOOOOOO!” in a teasing manner. You didn’t focus on them, as you were eyeing Atsumu’s facial expression. He looked faintly shocked, yes, but he wasn’t looking at you, he was looking at his brother.
As the blonde walked towards his brother, arms open as an invitation for a hug, you took that as a hint to make your way over to the men who were still hooting and hollering.
“Did Osamu get that for ya, [L/N]?” Barnes asked, eyes alight with joy.
“He did. Isn’t it so pretty?”
The three men agreed, words overlapping one another as they all discussed the beauty of each individual flower.  You took this as a quick opportunity, and turned your head over your shoulder. The twins were exiting the hug, and you could hear a bit of their conversation, mainly Atsumu expressing his surprise for Osamu being in town for the game. Turning back, your eyes landed on the ginger in front of you, eyes full of curiosity. You tilted your head slightly.
“So, are you and Atsumu like…?” He asked quietly, being cautious of the setter hearing him.
“We haven’t really, uh, spoken yet.” You answered, a sad smile took over your face. Ever since the meeting with the publicists, the whole team was able to sense the tension between you and Atsumu, knowing you both were very close, but now distanced due to this small issue.
“You want to talk to him?” Now it was Inunaki speaking, looking like he had a solution in mind. You nodded at this. “Alright, the three of us will leave, and then–” The libero cut himself off, looking at the dark haired man behind you, walking towards the four of you.
“I’m not gonna lie…” Osamu started, the corner of his lip turned upwards, leaning in to hug you. “I have ta’ get back ta’ Hyogo soon to finish up everythin’.” You shook your head, letting out a small ‘tsk tsk.’ as you mirrored his movements. “I told you you should’ve just waited until you finished.”
“Blah blah blah.” He muttered jokingly as he pulled away from your warm embrace, waving at the three other men, making his way towards the exit of the arena.
“We’re gonna head out as well, then.” Barnes confirmed as he put both of his hands on either shoulder of his two teammates.
“Good luck!” Hinata whisper-shouted, two thumbs up on display as the three followed shortly after Osamu, towards the exit. With that, you finally turned around, immediately catching wind of Atsumu’s eye contact on you. Walking towards him, you noticed his hands were in his pocket, with an apologetic look on his face.
A brief period of silence passed. “I–” The both of you spoke at the same time, immediately interrupting yourselves.
“Go ahead.” You offered to Atsumu, to which he nodded and took a deep breath.
“Nice flowers.” He nodded towards the bouquet resting in your arms. “‘Samu got ‘em for ya?” As a response, you nodded, unable to contain the jittery smile you’ve been holding in, merely wanting to express this with your best friend.
“Listen, [Y/N],” He started, moving his hand to rub the back of his nape. “I’m sorry if I overreacted and pissed ya off the other day. If you and ‘Samu wanna be together, then who am I to hold y’all back?”
“Thank you, Atsumu. I’m sorry for going behind your back and meeting up with your brother. He’s too nice of a guy for me to back off of.”
He chuckled. “Yer all good. I never wanted ta’ stand in the way of yer love life or whatever in the first place, but I just wasn’t too happy that you fell for ‘Samu.”
You giggled at this, creating a comfortable silence between the two of you for a couple of seconds.
“We still besties?” Atsumu asked, opening his arms the same way he did for his brother. “Of course, ‘Tsum.” Accepting his invitation, hugging him tightly just as best friends do to one another.
“Don’t you still have to get on the bus?” You questioned, gesturing your head towards the doors of the arena. The blondie sighed dramatically, nodding, and beginning to walk as you followed him, having to also make your way to your car.
As you both exited, the light breeze immediately blew on the two of you. The weather was beautiful, which is better than you could’ve ever asked for, especially after such an exciting day. “Nice game, by the way. You played well.” You spoke once more, acknowledging the earlier event.
“Um, just well?” He challenged, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Oh, excuse me. Might I say thou’s playing style art akin to a masterpiece, possessing an unparalleled essence of singularity, my good sir.”
Atsumu snobbily laughed, and waved his hand out in front of him. “Why, thank you madam [L/N]!” The two of you regularly laughed at the medieval speech, ever wondering how you could’ve gone days without speaking to one another.
“Also, by the way.” You started once the two of you calmed down. “What made you change your mind about me and Osamu?”
“Oh.” It seems like he was taken a bit back by this, yet had an answer ready. “Frankly enough, I don’t mind ya bein' my sister in-law.”
You choked on your saliva, but in a good way. “Woah, we’re not even official yet.”
Atsumu hummed at this, putting his hands back into his jacket pockets. “Didn’t ‘Samu tell ya?”
“Tell me what?”
“He only dates ta' marry.”

12:42.
[bold is [y/n] , bold + italics is osamu]
“Hello?”
[Y/N] stared at her phone with an expression that one could describe as “disgusted.” She wasn’t disgusted at the all-too familiar contact she rang, yet instead, was disgusted at the fact that she and this specific man got into all sorts of problems with the internet.
“[Y/N], ya there?”
“I’m here.” She immediately answered, sitting up straight and disregarding her lazy position. [Y/N] began to think back to the moment where everything went wrong – moreso, where the initial problem was created, being Interference. If only you had declined to go out, like you regularly do.
“How’s yer day goin’ so far?” The man on the other end genuinely asked, yet, [Y/N] responded with a scoff.
“Osamu.”
“Yeah yeah, my b–”
“It’s literally my day off, and my fucking manager just texted me and told me to come in ASAP.” She paused for a second to regain her composure, then proceeded to continue. “They also… uh, want to hold a meeting. A meeting that includes you, Atsumu, and myself.”
In the background from the other end of the line, a bell being rung could be heard, signifying that someone has entered Onigiri Miya. Concentrating back to the call, Osamu sighed heavily.
“I know, that’s why I told ya to call me. ‘Tsumu already texted me ‘bout it.”
You let out a small ‘fuck’ at his own mention of the blonde setter. Putting your phone on your lap, you leaned your head back. “What’re we gonna tell them?” You didn’t receive an immediate response from him, but when you did, you could tell there was a change in his tone.
“We should be open ‘bout our current relationship, y’know? Like, tell ‘Tsumu and whoever does the social media stuff ‘bout us.”
That was the worst idea you had heard in your life.
“Oh, absolutely not. Maybe we can–”
“Are you serious?” Osamu questioned, cutting you off. Although you were both on a regular phone call, an unmistakable grimace was present on his face. “[Y/N], we were seen holdin’ hands. You do know that holdin’ hands is a thing that mainly couples do, right?”
A slight cringe on your face replaced the neutral expression that was previously there. You stayed silent, with multiple thoughts countering one another. It was previously mentioned before by you to Osamu, that you didn’t want to tell a bunch of people, especially Atsumu, about your relationship with him. Hinata, and most likely Sakusa, were the only ones who knew, and you were almost 100% confident that they weren’t going to tell anybody.
“I understand that, but I told you before that I don’t want to tell Atsumu.”
“[Y/N].” Osamu huffed. Annoyance, and slight impatience could be heard in his voice. “There’s basically no point in hidin’ it anymore. He can handle it, he’s a big boy.”
“Yeah, I understand that, I just– I don’t think he’ll be too happy that I got with his twin brother!”
“Okay, then I have a question for ya.” The man on the other line slightly paused. There was a bit of hesitation, before he spoke once more.
“Do you intend on bein’ in an actual relationship with me, or are we just gonna be in a secret talkin’ stage forever?”
Grabbing your phone off your lap, you held it closer to your face, while rearranging your current position. “I do want to be in an actual relationship with you.” You confirmed, leaning forward, and bending your back. Your head facing downwards, suggesting a slumped appearance.
A small cough could be heard on the other line, in an attempt for Osamu to clear his voice. “Great, glad ta’ hear. So what’s the problem?”
“First off, your brother is a bum. With all due respect, he acts like a child during serious situations, and it’s annoying. Second off, it’s not just about Atsumu.” You sighed, moving your eyes from the phone screen to a neglected book shelf in your apartment. “It’s also about the general public. All the shit that’s on your brother is going to move to you, and frankly enough, I don’t want that to happen. It could be bad for your reputation.”
You were always a private person. Something about not having your life all out to the world was a wonderful way of living. Working for the MSBY Black Jackals was never not an option to you, as it was a great way to gain experience for any future working opportunities. Even though this isn’t the first time you were in a news article, this is a completely different situation, something you weren’t used to at all, and yet, you still felt that the world around you would remain calm if you took control. A part of your consciousness still felt guilty, though. Osamu wanted to express that the two of you were together, and you hate to admit it, but after much thought throughout the current phone call, it actually wasn’t a bad idea to help yourself publicly. What you said to him over the phone wasn’t false, though. If the truth that he was the one who punched that guy, Onigiri Miya could lose customers, and you didn’t want that at all. You knew how hard he worked to open his business.
“Listen, if I was able to get Bokuto out of that one scandal where he was seen making out with Goshiki Tsutomu’s girlfriend, then I can get you out of this.”
“But–”
“No, I’ll see you at the meeting in an hour. Bye.”
click!
You believed that at this point, Atsumu must’ve realized that it was Osamu in the photos that went viral, and not him. You still haven’t received a confrontational text from him, though, which worried you a bit.
As you put your phone back on the couch in the seat next to you, you rest your head in your hands, your mind immediately being impaled by a strong feeling of stress, combined with dread. Ultimately, this was your problem to deal with. Atsumu and Osamu don’t know how to deal with a situation like this, and in comparison to yourself, you didn’t know either, yet you were more capable.
It doesn’t seem like the time to point this out, but this was truly one of the best ways to get hands-on experience to potentially add to your resume.
Grabbing your phone, you speed-walked back to your bedroom, eyes immediately landing on your laptop, placed on your desk. There, you sat in your chair, and opened up a google doc, beginning to type out a statement to the best of your abilities with what little time you had. It didn’t seem to help that you were still hungover, but that was not your main concern.
Getting this statement done was more important.
13:56.
The drive to work usually brought a sense of tranquility to you, yet all you could feel as you entered the parking lot for MSBY’s main facility was an extreme amount of unease, better described as anxiety. Exiting your car, and walking into the building went by as a blur, as you could only focus on this meeting, and all the potential outcomes, whether they’re positive, or negative.
As the familiar voices of two men conversing came closer to ear shot, a change of pace in your breathing came about.
‘Why am I getting nervous?’ You couldn’t help but wonder. Could it be that you weren’t ready for potential confrontation? Or was it the fact that you may or may not be getting laid off due to causing MSBY some trouble?
As the designated meeting door was open, you were met with immediate silence, and staring eyes from both of the Miya twins, who were sitting side by side, with Osamu, still in his work uniform, and Atsumu, in his training gear. Seeing the both of them sit at the farthest corner of the long, white table with eachother caused your heartbeat to quicken, yet thankfully, your managers weren't in the room yet. You move your feet to the side adjacent from theirs, setting your computer down.
“Why’re ya sittin’ there?” Atsumu asked, keeping his eyes on your now-sitting frame.
“Because.” A brief, immediate response left your mouth, without a single thought running through your mind.
“Because… what?” Now it was Osamu who spoke, countering your previous reply.
“Because, I don’t want to sit by either of you right now.”
“Why?” Atsumu questioned once more. You could feel the agitation in your system begin to rise, mainly due to the reasoning that he hasn’t realized he was being annoying.
All you felt like you could do was stare at the blonde man. Using the best of your ability to send a ‘death stare,’ was utterly useless. It was clear to anyone within a safe amount from you that you were mentally exhausted.
Atsumu’s question remained unanswered, as you slowly leaned your head into your hands, only being surrounded by your intrusive thoughts. Thoughts that contemplated how the meeting was going to go, thoughts that wondered what your relationship with both brothers was going to be, thoughts that were interrupted as Atsumu spoke up, once more.
“[Y/N], are you mad because we held hands last night?”
‘...What?’
It seemed almost automatic the way your hands slowly left your face and dropped to your side, revealing your jaw, which was already dropped. Your eyes widened in an absolute sheer amount of disbelief, blinking repeatedly.
It wasn’t until a moment later, when you shot up out of your chair, and yelled, “Did you actually just say that?!”
Both brothers across from you flinched simultaneously, not expecting your voice to raise. Atsumu didn’t seem to know why you were becoming upset, while Osamu understood almost immediately after seeing the look of terror on your face. He felt as if he had to say something… something to help you relax before you burst a blood vessel.
“[Y/N].” He spoke calmly, with caution.
“Osamu, did you hear what he just said?” You pointed sharply at the blonde man, while staring at the other. Yet, Atsumu looked confused for another reason.
“Since when were the both of ya on first name terms? I coulda’ sworn y’all only met twice…”
You and Osamu immediately locked eyes, the muscles in your jaw tensing, sitting plainly, as his mouth fell open. It felt like years as you and Osamu stared at one another, desperately trying to read each other’s thoughts about what’s happening at this very moment. Internally, you both came to the realization that Atsumu had not yet figured out that the male in the pictures spread around the internet wasn’t him, but his brother.
You’re not sure what came over you, but you threw your hands up, exasperated, eventually getting out of your seat, grabbing your computer, and walking to where Atsumu was sitting, settling your computer down in front of him. You opened your laptop with so much force that even Osamu thought you were about to break it. Clicking on a new page search in safari, you typed in “Miya Atsumu and [L/N] [F/N],” resulting in many guaranteed article results, including multiple versions of the infamous photo that was taken. After setting your sight on the first picture you saw, you immediately clicked on it, and shoved the computer closer to Atsumu.
He analyzed the photo for a couple seconds, and stared back at you with no hint of concern, or even dissatisfaction in his eyes.
A loud scoff was heard from you after you got a reaction you didn’t want, and although you wanted it to sound mean, it ended up turning into a fake laugh that had no way of being controlled.
Finally calming yourself down, you gave this whole thing one more chance, not realizing what you were about to do at that moment.
“Okay, Atsumu.” You spoke gently, whilst pointing at the computer screen for a second, specifically at the male who was holding your hand in the picture. “Who is this man? I need you to think very hard about it.”
Atsumu broke his eyes away from yours, and moved his head closer to the screen, brows furrowing tightly, and face pinching as he squinted his eyes. He gazed at the screen for a moment more, before finally speaking up.
“Uhhhh, that’s m–”
“THAT’S OSAMU, YOU DUMB PIECE OF SHIT!”
Almost instantly, Atsumu grabbed the computer, putting the screen dangerously close to his face, with more hints of worry in his eyes. As you watched him scan the screen, that’s when you truly realized that you were so overcome with anger that you didn’t figure out what you were doing until now. Essentially, you fucked up. For the whole duration of you and Osamu being in a situationship, you were careful not to let Atsumu catch on, knowing you’d be in trouble. Atsumu wanted to go through your text messages because he was bored? Absolutely not. Atsumu wanted to look through your camera roll? Hell no. Atsumu texted you saying he was going to Onigiri Miya for a quick bite to eat, yet you were already there, eating? Not anymore!
Quietly, Atsumu put down the computer on the table in front of him, first looking at Osamu, who held a hand over his mouth for an unknown period of time, yet with a plain expression painting his face.
“‘Tsum–”
“Shhh.”
Finally, Atsumu glared at you as his few grew ashen, with that specific look on his face. The look you’ve been craving to see ever since the topic of holding hands has been brought up. The blonde’s mouth opened, yet nothing came out, causing guilt to finally flow all throughout your body.
“Are y’all in a relationship? Boyfriend and girlfriend?” He eventually asked, voice sounding as calm as ever.
In unison, both you and Osamu muttered out a small “no.” Atsumu’s expression lightened up in the slightest, straightening his body while remaining seated.
“Okay, so what’s the problem then?”
“We’re in a situationship.” Now, it was Osamu who began to try and explain things to his brother. “We’ve been talkin’ for ‘bout a month now, maybe a bit more.”
“And I didn’t want to tell you, honestly.” You spoke immediately after, hands clasping together as you pressed your lips together, forming a straight line.
“Ya didn’t wanna tell me, ‘cause you knew I’d be upset, right?”
“Uh…” A small cough left your mouth, in an attempt to feign your awkwardness. “Yes.”
Atsumu slowly nodded his head, looking away from you and now straight. Almost instantly, he slammed both of his hands down on the table in front of him, “Well, damn straight I’m gonna be upset!” He pointed one of his fingers directly at you, and continued. “It’s the fact that ya had the audacity to… what? Secretly meet up with ‘Samu behind my back?” He then proceeded to move his pointed finger from you to his brother, aiming it at his chest, and repeatedly jabbing it against him. “And you! [Y/N] was my friend first. This same shit happened in high school, and ya still didn’t even learn yer lesson!”
“Oh grow up, ‘Tsumu.” Osamu grabbed Atsumu’s hand with enough force to cause a few veins to bulge out of Osamu’s hand. “We’re all adults, and frankly enough, we all have a right ta’ choose who we want to like.”
Atsumu pulled his finger free from Osamu’s grasp, as his expression grew more irritated. “Obviously, asshole! But ya don’t understand – you coulda’ chose anybody to be with. There’s like, four billion other girls out there, yet ya chose [Y/N], my best friend!”
Before Osamu could speak up against his twin’s concern, you interjected.
“Atsumu,” you began, “We chose each other. We wanted to be with each other.” Your eyes quickly shifted to Osamu, thinking about the fact that you potentially just embarrassed yourself in front of him, only to be met with a gaze that held a warm intensity. A warm intensity that screamed the fact that he felt extreme affection towards you.
Shrugging, you spoke, “If you want to choose someone to blame completely, then it’s me. I basically initiated the whole thing between me and O–”
“No, ya didn’t.” Osamu quickly interjected. “I asked for yer number, and I’m pretty sure that’s what really kick started everythin’.”
“Y’all are really arguin’ about this right now?” Atsumu groaned, leaning back in his chair with a defeated look on his face.
Before you and Osamu could reply back to him, defending yourselves, the meeting room door swung open, revealing Suzuki Dai, one of MSBY’s social media supervisors, who didn’t do the actual posting, but monitored everything. To your surprise, Okada Mayumi, one of MSBY’s main publicists, showed up as well. She usually worked with each player individually, and never in groups.
As the three of you bowed slightly to show respect to your elders, Suzuki feigned a loud sigh, while taking his jacket off.
“Ah, [L/N]! I can’t even say I’m surprised to see you here. You’re just always doing something to negatively affect MSBY. And especially before we have a game coming up? Man…”
You felt your face turn hot, and pinch with resentment. You hated Suzuki, and for all the right reasons. Following his remark, you were about to speak up against him, offering to fight, yet Okada beat you to it, landing a hard slap on his back, catching all of you by surprise.
“Don’t be rude, you fool. She’s already most likely being impaled with negative remarks on social media, and that is way more than somebody can handle mentally. You don’t need to add to the fire!”
You quickly remembered why Okada was one of your favorite people to work with.
As you took your seat in the same place from earlier, adjacent from the Miya Twins, Okada and Suzuki took their seats at the heads of the table, facing the three of you equally.
“Right, so first order of business…” Okada began speaking as she and Suzuki both pulled out their computers, logging in to their accounts.
“What happened? Did Osamu actually have to punch somebody in the club?”
You were about to speak up, ready to tell them everything, but Atsumu beat you to it. “Wait, wait..” he started, waving both of his hands in front of himself. “How could ya tell it was ‘Samu, and not me?”
“Well, even though his back was to the camera in the ‘holding hands’ picture, you can tell it’s him, because of the difference in hair color. It’s obviously not you, Atsumu.”
“But–” He cut himself off, sporting a confused look on his face. “The lighting in the club makes him look like me, right?”
This time, Suzuki spoke. “It’s possible that that could be the reason why everybody thinks it was you who assaulted that guy, but unfortunately, a lot of people don’t use their heads nowadays. I’m not sure if you noticed, but a lot of fans have been responding back to posts from news sources talking about the whole ordeal, defending you.”
Atsumu’s lips formed into an ‘O’ shape, whilst staying mute. Was he really that dumb to the point where he couldn’t recognize himself in pictures? Apparently, that’s what he thought.
“Atsumu, you do know that it wasn’t you in the photo, right?” Suzuki asked, raising an eyebrow towards the blonde setter.
“Oh, yeah of cour–” “No.” You and Osamu answered simultaneously.
Suzuki let out a quiet, yet irritated groan while slowly letting his face fall into the palm of his hand. As Atsumu felt his cheeks turn a light red hue in embarrassment, Okada quickly changed the subject of conversation back to the explanation of what truly happened. You quickly volunteered to tell the story, since it was mainly from your perspective. As all the eyes of the people in the room turned to you, with Okada preparing to type your statement, you inhaled through your nose as an attempt to calm yourself down, and speak with confidence.
“At around midnight, Osamu and I were dancing, and I mentioned that I had to use the bathroom. He offered to walk me there, but I said no. Basically, after I left the bathroom, this guy with botched blonde hair and a tongue piercing started flirting with me in the hallway. I obviously wasn’t interested, and even lied, and told him I had a boyfriend, but he still didn’t leave me alone. He ended up pinning me against the wall, because I guess there was nobody there to really say anything? But anyways, that’s where Osamu came in, and that’s why he punched the guy.”
All four people had different, yet similar reactions. Atsumu stared in horror, Suzuki blinked repeatedly trying to take it all in, Osamu’s gaze softened, filled with understanding, and Okada with a flicker of recognition crossing her eyes as she continued to type, eventually coming to a stop. “I’m sorry that happened to you, [L/N]. Are you all right?” She asked.
“Yes, I’m fine.”
“I hate to quickly go from one area of conversation to another, but if we got into communication with Night Time Interference, and asked for surveillance footage of all of that happening to you, would we be able to get it?” Okada questioned once more, a glimmer of hope in her eyes.
“Uh, yeah, I–I think so?” You answered hesitantly, looking to Osamu for an actual answer.
“Yeah, there’s cameras in that hallway.” He confirmed for you.
An approving hum left the older female, as she gave Suzuki an expecting look. “Would you mind getting into contact with them now, Suzuki?”
He nodded his head as a response, immediately getting out of his seat, and dialing a specific number as he left the meeting room in haste.
“Alright, now there’s one more main thing that needs to be addressed before we go over the details of what's going to happen in these next few days.”
All three of you turned your full attention to Okada as she clicked on unknown things on her computer. “Since [L/N] and Osamu were seen holding hands, does this mean the two of you are together? Romantically?” She finally focused her attention on both you, and the dark haired man, eyes flickering back and forth between you.
Together, you both answered with a “yeah.”
“Okay. Established relationship?”
Once more, you both answered with a “no.”
“Were you holding hands because it was an act of romance, or for a different reason?”
“Uh, I think partially because I was stumbling, but the other part being romance? I think?” You replied, thinking about your hazy memories of that night.
The rest of the meeting went by quickly in a blur.
To sum it up, Okada fulfilled her part, and ended up explaining that MSBY was going to release a statement mentioning the fact that it was indeed Osamu in the picture, and not Atsumu. If the situation called for it, the obtained video of you being constantly harassed would be posted and used as proof on Osamu’s part (which was okay by you). You eventually were able to show Okada your own written statement on MSBY’s part, which surprisingly to you, was approved by her, and would be used, with a few edits here and there.
After things were cleared, the three of you were dismissed, and ready to head your separate ways with no words exchanged. Atsumu had to head back to practice, Osamu had to head back to work, and you? You believed it was time to finally reconnect with nature, and go for a walk after such a long day.
16:31.
No wonder it was scientifically proven that going for outdoor walks can boost an individual’s mood.
Although you had finished your walk about half an hour ago, you felt much more relaxed, as well as an increased amount of optimism. You weren’t exactly able to label yourself as carefree yet, though. Lingering thoughts of Atsumu and his feelings stuck with you, as you continued to think about how you betrayed him in a way you never thought you would. You weren’t sure what came over you in the moment you were sitting on the toilet, but you had decided it was necessary to apologize once more to your best friend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You sighed in relief knowing Atsumu would continue to remain friends with you, but at what cost? You didn’t like the idea of him needing his space from you, but if it was what he needed to remain in his zone, especially before game day as it can become extremely stressful, then so be it.
buzz!
You stared at your phone, seeing another text from Atsumu pop up. You intended to ignore it, as you wanted to finish using the bathroom, but surprisingly.
buzz!
buzz buzz!
buzz!
‘5 texts?’ You thought, ultimately deciding to open the messages.

tw: mentions of harassment.
Tumblr media
23:57.
The loud booms of bass spread across the club as several partygoers danced the night away, while others indulged in several variations of alcoholic beverages. Singling yourself out, you were aware of all that was going on. Moments ago, you had realized that you were drunk. You knew you had a talkative conversation with Hinata. You knew you danced with Osamu for a while. Yet, something that you just could not register? A man with golden blonde hair, and a tongue piercing repeatedly harassed you after you came out of the bathroom.
It was unthinkable that this could happen to you, to be truthful.
Although, something incredibly beyond belief happened as well. Your situationship, Miya Osamu, threw an immense punch, something similar to a right hook, at the man bothering you. It all went by exceedingly fast, as one moment you were being held up against the wall, and the next, the culprit was laying on the floor, nose bleeding, and passed out. The man’s friends, who were also in a drunken state, had already run off after Osamu defended you.
You didn’t know what to feel. Of course, you were grateful to your man for essentially protecting you, as you weren’t in the state to do so. The alcohol running through your system had an effect on you as well, causing your vision to spin slightly. Yet, it was weird. At the same time, you felt like you sobered up.
It wasn't until Osamu put both of his hands on your shoulders, vaguely shaking you, causing your attention to be placed on him. You turnt your head towards him in a smooth manner, keeping your previous somewhat shocked expression on your face.
“[L/N]?”
Silence was your response. Numerous thoughts about the previous events were running through your head, and in this state especially? It was hell.
Osamu stared at you, eyes running to observe your astonished demeanor. “Are you okay? He didn’t do anythin’ else to ya, did he?” He spoke once more, this time, with concern filling his voice.
You shook your head slowly, and opened your mouth to respond, yet hesitated. You avert your eyes to the ground, slightly lowering your head, and sighed. You felt completely, and utterly defeated. Since childhood, your parents have taught you to always stand up for yourself. More specifically, to not take shit from anybody. You had always followed this way of life, even until today. So why couldn’t you defend yourself?
A look of surprise washed across your face as Osamu lowered himself in a crouching position to meet your eyes. He moved both of his hands to hold yours.
“Don’t blame yerself. None of this was yer fault.” After staring into his eyes for a short moment, you finally found your voice.
“How did you know what I was thinking?”
Osamu’s lips curled into a small smile, and he began to rub one of his thumbs over your hand. “Yer a strong lady, [L/N]. That’s one of the things I deeply respect ‘bout ya.”
You don't know what it was, but you also found yourself smiling. You pulled him up with some of your strength, causing him to stand at his full length. There, the two of you continued holding hands, sharing a moment of pure admiration for one another. You eventually looked at the club scenery that was just down the hall, and felt disgusted. Turning back to Osamu, you voiced a new concern of yours.
“Can we leave, please? My–ugh, my head is starting to hurt.”
He chuckled smally, and nodded. “We need ta’ go get ‘Tsumu, Hinata, and Bokuto, alright?” With that being said, he rearranged his hands with yours, his left holding your right, and led you down the hallway to the open club scenery, yet you stopped abruptly, causing Osamu to stop as well.
He looked at your face, and noticed a look of pain wash across. “What happened?”
You looked down at your feet, and back to Osamu’s face. “My feet really hurt.” You groaned, and slightly winced. “Stupid heels.”
He proceeded to look down at your feet as well, and squeeze your hand as a sign of reassurance. “I’ll carry ya to the car when we get outside, okay?”
You quickly waved your free hand in a dismissing manner, yet before you could actually decline, he gave you a look, essentially telling you “It’s okay, I don’t mind.”
You began to walk as carefully as possible, limping every now and then, with Osamu walking slightly behind you. As the flashing lights showered everybody with life, your thoughts about the idiot who caused trouble made their way out of your head. You looked to the bar, noticing the different groups of people there, having a lively time. It wasn’t long before you recognized the area you and Osamu were in, catching a short glimpse of your three coworkers spread across one of MSBY’s reserved booths.
The two of you walked up to the group of men, still hand in hand. “Time ta’ go, guys. It’s gettin’ late.”
Atsumu groaned, and threw his head on the table. “Nooooooo brother, I don’t wanna!” He yelled loud enough to cause Osamu’s face to irk.
“I’m the one drivin’, ya dumb fuck! Let’s go! All of you, now!”
For some odd reason, you felt a small bunch of butterflies in your stomach. Well, it made some sense considering the fact that dominant men in general were a turn on for many women, such as yourself. You internally facepalmed, and kept your composure as the three men shuffled out of the booth, stumbling here and there. Bokuto and Atsumu didn’t seem to notice the fact that you and Osamu were holding hands, but of course, Hinata detected it from the moment the two of you were in his line of sight.
The two taller men began to stumble towards the entrance of the club, holding on to each other in a rather hilarious manner, soliciting a laugh from you. Osamu took that as a signal to lead you to the door as well, with Hinata quickly finishing his drink at the table.
The ginger ran up to your side, nudging you (unintentionally) harshly, with a wide grin on his face. You rolled your eyes as a response, and gave him an extra push, guiding him to his teammates.
“What was that about?” Osamu asked, leaning a bit down, making it easier for you to hear his question.
You looked back up at him, and felt your face heating up. “Ah shit, I forgot to tell you, but um…” You pause for a second, and continue. “Turns out, Hinata and Sakusa kind of knew we were a thing.”
He gave you a confused look, then switched it out with a neutral expression and a shrug. “Well ain’t that somethin’. You’ll have ta’ elaborate more on that tomorrow.”
“Will do.”
The two of you made it out of the hot, and humid club, to be met with a nice breeze that hit in all of the right places. You let out a sigh of relief, only for that to be interrupted by Atsumu draping himself over you. Your hand quickly separated from Osamu’s, as you used your own strength to basically hold the both of you up.
“‘Tsumu, get offa–”
“[Y/N]! We didn’t even get ta’ dance or drink together tonight! Like, where’ve ya beeeeeeeen?” Atsumu cried out. You quickly pushed him up, and helped balance him.
“I was too busy indulging. Next time we’ll dance together for sure!”
The blonde man sniffled, and hugged you. “Like, I–I literally love ya, [Y/N]. Yer the bestest friend ever.”
You hugged him back, and looked over his shoulder to see Osamu, arms crossed, and with a sour expression on his face. You laughed, and patted Atsumu’s upper back. “Love ya too, ‘Tsum. Now start walking to the car.”
He put his hand near his forehead, saluting to you, and standing in place with a determined look on his face. “Sir yes sir!” With that, he began to stumble-run down the street to Osamu’s car, followed competitively along by Hinata and Bokuto.
“Not gonna lie, [L/N], but I think ‘Tsumu wants ya.” Osamu finally spoke, arms still crossed. You quickly realized that the man in front of you was feeling a sense of jealousy, yet you laughed due to how ridiculous he sounds. “You think so?” You asked confidently, followed by a wink.
He rolled his eyes playfully, along with your laughter. “C’mon, time to pick ya up.”
You felt a wave of nervousness run through you. “But you don’t have to.”
“I want to.” With that, he scooped you up in the bridal style position as effortlessly as possible, one hand under your knees, and another holding your back to keep you balanced. A surprised sound came out of you, yet you quickly adjusted yourself to this new position, cradling your arms around his neck.
“See? Wasn’t so bad, right?” He asked as he began walking down the sidewalk.
You huffed, and looked away from him, out to the street. “Put me down when you feel tired.”
“I’m not gonna get tired.” You turned your head back to him with a skeptical look on your face, but that didn’t last for long as you realized just how close you were to him. To his face. His eyes were focused straight ahead on the empty walkway, with no sign of struggle. You hadn’t noticed until now, but the stubble surrounding his features suited him well, as it gave him a rugged look. Your thoughts were interrupted as Osamu turned his head towards you, resulting in your cheeks showing a light hue of pink.
“Ya like what ya see, [L/N]?” He asked jokingly.
Before you could respond, you had realized something. You’ve known him for about a month, maybe a bit more, spending a lot of your free time either talking to him on the phone, or visiting him at his work. Hell, he just saved you from a drunkard. “Y’know, you can start calling me by my name. No more [L/N].”
As he kept his gaze on you, his demeanor shifted from playful to surprised. “Thanks. Honestly, I’ve been itchin’ to call ya by yer name for quite a while now.”
You smiled, and carefully rested your head in the crook of his neck, essentially starting to relax. Before you could speak to continue your conversation, he beat you to it.
“Start callin’ me Osamu.”
You lifted your head up, and chuckled. “Well duh, I’m not gonna let you call me by my name if you’re not gonna let me call me by yours.”
He looked away with a small twinkle in his eyes, and back to the scenery in front of the both of you. “Yes, ma’am.”
The outlook in front of the both was nothing less than beautiful. The warm street lights dancing on top of the both of you, showering you in pure bliss, the nightlife expressing numerous different colours, giving you a sense of nostalgia. You thought back to the exact moment where Osamu punched that guy with the tongue piercing.
“I never got to thank you.” You paused for a bit, still admiring the scenic view. “For punching that guy.” You laid your head back down in the crook of his neck once more. You don’t know if it was the excess alcohol in your system controlling you, but you tilted your head up, and planted a small kiss on his left cheek. “Dare I call you my knight in shining armor.”
You noticed how his cheeks burned a light pink, followed by a sigh. He looked at you for a brief moment, and finally responded. “I’m sorry that happened to ya, darlin’. Ya don’t need to thank me at all.”
“Nonsense.” You were going to continue speaking, until you noticed the three idiots up ahead in the distance standing next to Osamu’s locked car, arguing with each other, most likely about something irrelevant.
“Let me down here, I can walk the rest of the way.” You stated, pointing to your coworkers.
He stopped walking, and turned his gaze towards you. “Ya sure? I don’t mind carryin’ ya the full way.” He asked as he raised an eyebrow.
“I’m sure.” Osamu hummed in response, and gently let you down, helping you balance on your slightly less aching feet. As the two of you finally made your way after being noticed specifically by Bokuto, you both walked in comfortable silence, admiring each other’s presence.
It was unfortunately no lie that the events that unfolded at Interference ruined your night, but Osamu was there for you. Osamu.
‘Osamu.’
You felt victorious. You get to finally call him by his name.
The next day, 12:28.
buzz buzz!
buzz!
buzz buzz!
buzz buzz!
“God damn it!” You yelled, grabbing your phone from underneath your pillow, and throwing it across your bedroom, ultimately landing on the floor.
You awoke with a headache, feeling rather shitty. As you laid in bed, you recalled the events of last night. Drinking with Hinata, dancing with Osamu, and…
‘Oh.’
You groaned as you sat up from your current position, and stayed in complete silence, with your fan making minimal background noise.
12:32.
Finally processing the events of last night, you got out of bed, and walked over to where your phone laid, still buzzing from notifications. Why was your phone blowing up? As you crouched down to pick it up, you glanced at some of the newest notifications. Some being from your school friends, others being from coworkers, yet one of them stood out to you directly.
It was Sakusa, and all he sent was an article created by The Japan Times.
You tapped on it, and read the title.
Tumblr media
“What the fuck?” You verbally questioned. You felt your heart begin to race, and quickly looked through other messages you received.
a/n: didn't feel like editing the timestamps don't kill me pls
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you read through a couple more articles, you finally understood what was going on. Last night, somebody in the club last night took video evidence of Atsumu (Osamu) punching the man who was harassing you. As people began to catch wind of this, a few others also chimed in and noted that Atsumu (Osamu) was holding hands with you, inferring that you were his new girlfriend, which was in fact, NOT true.
So what were you going to do about it?
Well… you didn’t know. You were more worried about the fact that you probably already lost your job.

18:32, Two weeks after the first FaceTime call with Osamu.
You were currently sitting in your office in the MSBY facility, finishing up excess school work. Although it was rather small, it still worked out since you were able to have your personal space.
No interruptions, no yelling, no–
“HELLO [Y/N]!”
Your office door was barged open, revealing three young men. More specifically, the three who utterly deplete you of your energy. With that, you immediately put your head down on your desk, hoping they will get the hint, and leave.
“C’mon, [L/N]! What’s wrong with you? Put your head up!” You briefly look up to see Bokuto directly in front of your desk, with both hands on his hips. It also seems the other two invited themselves in.
You groaned, and quietly spoke, putting your head back on the desk once more. “Get out of my office, please.”
“Nope!” Atsumu joined in. “We just got finished with practice, and wanted ta’ check on ya, sweets.”
“And for what reason?” You put your head up once more, crossing your arms.
Hinata closed the door behind him, “Because we’re going to Interference in like three hours! Come with us, [L/N]!”
Night Time Interference, better known as Interference is one of the most popular bars in Osaka, and a local hangout spot for MSBY when they’re allowed to have a few drinks. You haven’t been there yet, but heard great things about it.
You gave this idea of theirs some thought. You usually rejected their invitations to go drinking, but this time was different. You haven’t been out in a while, you finished all of your work for the week, and didn’t have any school work to do, besides the assignment you were just doing. You avert your eyes to your computer, and open up your calendar app to make sure you weren’t forgetting about anything important.
You had no plans the next day, but as you looked at each individual day coming up, something intrigued you.
“Oh, how could I forget?”
All three men looked at you, waiting for you to continue speaking. You flipped your computer around to show them what you have written down for the upcoming wednesday.
‘MSBY Home Game.’
“You guys have a game in five days. I don’t think y’all should be drinking.” You turned your computer back around to face you. Bokuto, Hinata, and Atsumu all looked at each other, and shrugged.
“It’s not like we’re drinking the day before, though.” Hinata countered.
You raised an eyebrow at this, and eyed all three men, just to see that they were serious about this. You briefly looked at your calendar one more time, and back at them. “My shift ends in thirty minutes. I’ll come.” Your response was met with cheers, due to the fact that you finally agreed.
You quickly shushed them up, since there were a few of your coworkers who were still active in their jobs.
“Alright, [Y/N]...” Atsumu started. “We’re all meetin’ at my apartment ta’ pregame. Then, we’re probably gonna take an uber or somethin’ to the bar. That sound good ta’ ya?”
You nodded your head to confirm. “What time should I get there?”
“How ‘bout…‘round 9?”
You let out a small hum, and with that, the boys said their goodbyes and left your office. You recognized the fact that you had to prioritize your unfinished school work before clocking out, yet didn’t begin doing it. Instead, you picked up your phone, and went on iMessage.
a/n: ignore timestamps! didn't feel like editing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You stared at your phone with that familiar smile creeping upon your face. It was then decided that you would text once more, stepping a little bit out of your own boundaries.
Tumblr media
Even though the both of you weren’t communicating in person, you began to blush.
‘Darling?’
You weren’t usually one for pet names, but this? You were completely okay with this. After setting your phone down on your desk, you focused back on your computer. You really needed to finish up this school work before clocking out.
OSAMU, 19:49.
Osamu was currently sitting down on his couch, eyeing his TV. He had intentions of watching Death Note, but unfortunately, he just could not pay attention to the anime. You kept popping up in his mind, but this was nothing out of the ordinary. Ever since the two of you began to communicate over text, you’ve been living in his head, rent free.
It’s safe to mention that you’ve been going to Onigiri Miya more frequently, sitting at that same counter spot each time. You would both learn more about each other, such as likes and dislikes, perfections and imperfections, interests and hobbies… need I say more?
buzz!
He was snapped out of his thoughts, and quickly paused the anime. He eagerly picked up his phone, thinking it was you, but to his disappointment, it was not.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Osamu perked up at this. He obviously knew that Atsumu was going out with you, but had to act clueless so his twin wouldn’t catch on. He swiped out of the texts between him and his brother, and went to him and yours. He was planning on texting you that he was going to be the DD.
He hesitated for a second, before ultimately swiping out of the app. He decided to just leave it as a mini surprise for you.
Osamu chuckled at the thought of your last few messages with him. You wished for him to come, and now he is. What a coincidence.
20:56.
“Helloooo my brotha’ in Christ!”
Osamu had just arrived at Atsumu's apartment, and was greeted with a hug. The dark haired Miya pulled away after a brief period of time, and looked his brother up and down.
“Yer already tipsy, ain’t ya?”
“Nooooo! Why would’ya automatically assume that?”
Atsumu’s cheeks were somewhat flushed, plus his pupils were dilated. Osamu let himself into the apartment, whilst letting out a sigh. His eyes landed on Bokuto and Hinata, who were sitting on the couch, seltzers in hand. He greeted both of them, and decided to sit next to them. Atsumu eventually made his way over, taking a seat next to Bokuto, and starting a conversation with him about God knows what, leaving Hinata and Osamu to talk.
“How’ve you been, Osamu? I haven’t seen you in a while.”
The dark haired Miya shrugged, and responded back. “Yeah man, it’s been a bit, and I’m doin’ pretty good. Are ya excited to go out?”
Hinata was about to answer with the normal ‘hell yeah!’, but hesitated. He realized this was his opportunity to bring you up.
“Absolutely!” He paused for a second, and began to smirk. “Y’know, [L/N]’s finally coming out with us.”
Osamu noticed the smirk on his face, and internally froze. ‘Does he know about me and [L/N]?’
“Uh, whaddya mean by ‘finally?’”
The ginger threw his head back, and started laughing. “Oh man, we’d always invite her out with us, but she never came! I don’t know why, but it’s like, whatever!” Osamu hummed, and shifted his attention to his brother, who was now, for some reason, on the floor.
“Tsum-Tsum, you okay?!” Bokuto yelled.
No response.
knock knock!
Atsumu immediately got up, facing towards the three other men in the room, hands on his hips. “Y’all, I think… My BEST FRIEND IS HERE!”
With that, he ran to the door, and opened it, revealing a smiling [Y/N].
YOU
You were immediately engulfed in a hug by Atsumu, and began swaying side by side with him. “Oh boy, [Y/N]! I didn’t think ya were gonna show up!” You responded with a giggle, and stepped inside, separating yourself from Atsumu.
For this night out, you decided to wear low-rise baggy jeans, a maroon leather tube top, and maroon stilettos, paired with a white shoulder bag. Your makeup was nicely done, and you wore your jewelry accordingly.
Simply speaking, you looked sexy.
“[L/N]!”
You look over to the couch where your name was called from, seeing Bokuto, Hinata, and… Osamu? All sitting together?
You immediately felt your nerves bubbling up inside, but still walked over to the couch to greet your friends. You noticed how he kept his eyes on you as you hugged your coworkers, and engaged in a very brief small talk with them. When it was time for you to greet Osamu, you gave him a ‘what are you doing here?’ look. He was able to immediately understand what you wanted to say, and lightly chuckled.
“[Y/N], I completely forgot ta’ tell ya, but I asked ma’ baby brother…” Atsumu lightly jogged over to Osamu, slinging an arm around his shoulder. “... if he could be our DD, and he said yes! Ain’t that great?!”
You giggled at Atsumu’s somewhat-drunken state, and crossed your arms. “Onigiri Miya’s gonna be our DD? That is great.”
All three MSBY players began to laugh at your nickname for Osamu (even though it wasn’t that funny, in your opinion), while he shook his head while smiling. You took your opportunity to sit next to him, and gave him a quick side hug. He was a bit caught off guard by this, but leaned into your presence. You both quickly pulled away as the laughter began to die down.
“Where are the drinks, Atsumu? It’s my turn to get tipsy.” You questioned. The blondie immediately got up, grabbing you a shot glass from one of the cabinets in his kitchen, alongside a half-empty bottle of Pink Lemonade Smirnoff, and a can of sprite as a chaser.
“Right here, bestie.” He confirmed as he gave you the shot glass and sprite, carefully pouring the Smirnoff into your glass.
You were about to take the shot, but forgot to open the can. Yet, thankfully, the man sitting next to you noticed. “Do ya want me to open the can for ya?” You turned to him, and nodded. “Please.”
As he took the can from you, you took the shot, and swallowed, trying to hide your face of disgust. Osamu handed the can back to you, resulting in you drinking it right away. A few hoots and hollers could be heard from Atsumu and Bokuto, while Hinata had raised an eyebrow, chugging what was left of his seltzer. The ginger took into account the fact that you sat by Osamu, and that Osamu opened your can of soda for you. If any other person were to look at this scenario, they obviously wouldn’t think much of it, but this is Hinata we’re talking about.
His plan to set the both of you up seemed to be on the right track.
After a couple more shots of liquor, you all were now heading down to get in Osamu’s blacked out Honda Accord. As you all began to walk out of the complex, with your three coworkers in front laughing about some stupid shit, you and Osamu walked next to each other.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?” You spoke to the broad man.
He shrugged, “I kinda wanted ta’ keep it a surprise for you.”
You giggled at this, and decided to move a bit closer to him. You figured out a while ago that the liquid confidence in your system was going to be your best friend for the night.
“Awww, that’s so sweet of you!”
He looked down at you, and temporarily observed your appearance. “You look gorgeous, [L/N].” You looked up at him, grinning, and lightly slapped his chest.
“Oh, stoppppp. I’m blushing, Miya.” That wasn’t a lie. Besides the slight flush on your face from the alcohol, your cheeks showed a pink tint.
“AYO, BROTHER MAN! UNLOCK THE CAR!” You both turned your attention to Atsumu waving at his brother, while Hinata and Bokuto held each other, trying to stabilize themselves. While Osamu began to mentally curse his twin for ruining your moment, you laughed, and nudged the man next to you. “They look so stupid right now, I’m literally dead.”
“Agreed.” Osamu nodded as he pulled out his car keys, and unlocked the car.
As the three drunks began to make their way in the backseat of the car, you and Osamu approached the passenger door, where you would undoubtedly be sitting. He opened the door for you, causing you to smile smugly. After getting you situated, he closed your door, and walked over to his.
21:46, Night Time Interference.
You had all finally arrived at the infamous bar. The line was long, but due to the fact that you and Osamu were with three celebrity volleyball players, there technically was no line for you guys.
As you all made your way inside, you decided to take note of the place. It was huge, first of all. The music was blasting, and there were a bunch of different colored lights flashing on the dance floor, which was surrounded by a crowd of party goers. The bar was on the side, and from what you could tell, they basically had an unlimited amount of alcohol.
Atsumu and Bokuto immediately went to the dance floor, with the intention of trying to find hot girls to dance with, while you, Osamu, and Hinata went to the bar. Hinata was able to find a spot where the three of you could stand and order drinks.
“What do you want to drink?!” Hinata yelled loud enough for you to hear.
“Uhhh, I’ll do a vodka soda with orange juice!” You shouted back.
He nodded, and on cue, the bartender came up to your group. While Hinata put your orders in, you turned to Osamu and motioned for him to lean down to your face. As he did, you raised your voice, and spoke, “This bar is so cool! You were soooo right!”
He began to laugh. “Told ya’!”
You felt someone tapping your shoulder, and turned around to be met by Hinata holding your drink. You both started to cheer, and down your drinks. You were usually a sipper, but it was your first night out in a while. You both put your empty glasses on the bar counter, and Hinata leaned closer to you. “We–we should get shots! Let’s do lemon drops, uhh two each!”
You nodded your head ecstatically, and once more, Hinata put in the drink orders. You could feel someone put their hand on the small of your back, and as you turned to make sure it wasn’t some random stranger, it was Osamu, pointing to Atsumu who was stumbling everywhere on the dance floor.
You started to laugh, and nodded your head. As he began to walk away, you looked back at Hinata, who was smirking with hooded eyes. You tilted your head in confusion, and he bent forward, and put his face by your ear.
“Be honest, [L/N], are yo–ou and Osamu like, a t-thing?” He slurred, while raising his voice.
You leaned back, and immediately declined. He began to laugh, and shook his head. The bartender gave Hinata the shots, and he motioned for you to follow him. As you did, you couldn’t help but wonder if you’re being too obvious with your developing relationship with Osamu.
The ginger led you to a table in the VIP section, reserved for the MSBY team. It was in a somewhat quieter area, suitable enough for you and Hinata to have a conversation without screaming in each other's ears. As you both sat down, that same smirk popped up on Hinata’s face. He grabbed two of the four shots, handing you one, and doing a quick cheer.
You both set your empty glasses down, and he spoke again. “I–I know you and Miya have a thiiiiing going on, yo–ou can’t lie to me.”
You waved your hands in front of you, and denied once more. “Noooo, we’re not together. We’re friends!”
“Friends with Benefits?!” He quickly retorted back, with a shocked look on his face. You both began to laugh, with you covering your face with both of your hands.
“H–Hinata, you’re silly!”
You removed your hands from your face, and grabbed your second shot, with Hinata following along. You cheered once more with him, and downed the liquor. “Listen, [L/N]...”
You turned to the man, who had a serious face, and looked ready to lecture you. “Listen, I kno–ow the two of you *hiccup* have something going on! I know you go to Onigiri Miya, and I–I know you be eating his onigiri, too.”
You stayed silent, and he pointed at you. “You can’t fool me!”
As the drinks began to settle in your system, you started arguing with yourself internally, debating if you were going to tell Hinata about your situationship with Osamu. He somehow seemed to already know that you get food regularly at Onigiri Miya, but if you did tell him, there’s always a chance he could tell Atsumu.
You let out a sigh, and leaned your head back. “How did you know?”
Hinata began to cheer, and excitedly responded back. “Do you r–remember how Sakusa left you by yours–self at Osamu’s shop?” You nodded, awaiting for him to continue. He pointed at himself, and grinned heavily. “I’m the one who drove the red car!”
You opened your mouth, leaning forward in surprise. “You helped Sakusa ditch me?!”
“Hellz yeah, man! I gave you and your mans *hiccup* some alo–o–one time! Haha!” You smacked his arm, immediately killing his lively mood, as groaned in pain. “What was that for, [L/N]?!” He whined.
You stayed silent for a brief moment of time, and started to laugh. You quickly slung your arm around his shoulder, pulling him closer. “H–Hinata, you fucking goat!” As he realized you weren’t mad at him, he smiled greatly. “Wait, where even is Sakusa?” You asked, stopping your laughter as you removed your arm from him.
Hinata shrugged. “I dunno, probably doing some buuuullshit.”
You nodded in response, and looked towards the dance floor, seeing Astumu, and Bokuto stumble to the table you were at, with an annoyed Osamu following them. You looked back at Hinata, and spoke once more. “Listen, I’m be–egging you, pleaseeeee don’t tell Atsumu about me and his brother! He’s go–onna kill me!”
He put his thumbs up, and nodded as a response.
You eventually stood up, and tried your best to help Atsumu and Bokuto into the booth, but didn’t do a whole bunch since you were pretty much turnt. As they got situated, you turned towards Osamu, making eye contact with him. “I w–want to go dance. Will you come with me?”
He nodded his head, and you both began to make your way to the floor. Just Dance by Lady Gaga and Colby O’Donis began to play. You were both standing by the edge, but you weren’t content with this position. “Do ya’ want to get more in the middle?!” Osamu shouted in your ear. You eagerly nodded, and with that, he grabbed your hand, and began to lead you to a good enough spot.
Once you got comfortable, you began to dance. It’s pretty well known that when you’re drunk, time begins to go by a whole lot faster. You noticed that Osamu wasn’t much of a dancer, but he was swaying to the beat and singing some of the songs that were playing (such as: AT THE PARTY by Kid Cudi, Outside by Calvin Harris, Black and Yellow by Wiz Khalifa (which was coincidentally MSBY’s theme song), and more). During the duration of your time on the dance floor, there were a couple of moments where Osamu lifted your hand up and twirled you for fun. You did your best to try and NOT twerk on him, but there were times where you would sway with him, with your back to his muscular chest.
Eventually, the liquids began to catch up with your bladder. You gestured for him to come closer to you. “I need to use the bathroom!” You shouted in his ear.
He leaned back, confused, and leaned in once more.
“Bathroom!”
This time, he didn’t lean back, resulting in your faces being mere inches apart. He still looked confused, and you groaned.
“BATHROOM!”
This time, he understood, and chuckled. Now it was him leaning in, and speaking. “Ya need me to walk ya there?!”
You shook your head ‘no,’ and pointed at the dance floor, basically telling him to stay and wait for you. He nodded his head, and with that, you began to push your way through the crowd.
Once you made it out, you looked for any signs indicating where the restroom might be, and even though your vision was getting a tad bit blurry, you were still able to make out where the room might be.
You stumbled on the way there, bumping into a few people by accident, and surprisingly, there was no line! The bathroom was located in a hallway, where there were a few men leaning against the walls, smoking.
You quickly walked in, wanting to avoid all that. Once you claimed a stall, you let out a sigh of relief as you unbuttoned your jeans, pulled down your panties, and pissed. Once you finished, it was a bit difficult to put your jeans back together, but eventually, you walked out of the stall and washed your hands. You looked at yourself in the mirror, noticing your hair become a bit frizzy, yet otherwise, you still looked hot.
You pulled out your phone for a few seconds, making mental note of the time.
‘23:54.’
You forced your phone back in your pocket, and walked out of the bathroom, but to your surprise, you were immediately pushed up against the wall by a man with dyed blonde hair, and a tongue piercing.
“Heeeey, beautiful lady!”
You immediately made a face of disgust, and looked around, seeing no other females in the area. Only his friends, who were smirking at the two of you.
“No thank you.” You spoke as you tried removing his arm from the wall so you could walk away, but it wasn’t budging.
“Oh, c’mon onnnnn. Ain’t no harm in this, babygirl!”
You groaned, and leaned your head against the wall for a second. When you moved your head back, you stared at him dead in the eyes, and pointed towards the dance floor. “My boyfriend is waiting for me, so move!”
He laughed, but still didn’t move. “What, your boyfriend doesn’t let you have male friends?” He asked, leaning closer. You catched a glimpse of his tongue piercing.
“No. Move!” You shoved him against the wall behind him, and he immediately looked angry.
“You’re such a bitch.” He scoffed as he nailed both of your arms against the wall behind you, causing you to panic. You tried to move as much as you can, but the grip he had on you was terrifyingly strong.
“Ew, get away!”
He began to lean closer to you, with a disgusting smirk on his face. You shut your eyes, and turned your head away.
You couldn’t believe this was about to happen to you, until you felt a bit of force from his body. You opened your eyes to see that asshole on the ground, passed out. You turned your head to the right, to be met with Osamu’s irritated face. His fist was clenched, and you quickly realized:
He punched the shit out of that guy.

22:46.
You stepped out of your foggy shower, and grabbed your towel. As you began to wipe leftover droplets of water off yourself, you couldn’t help but think about the events that had happened earlier in the day.
School wasn’t terrible today, as you only had two lectures, and–
You began to shake your head ‘no’, while continuing to dry yourself.
Oh, my apologies, not that early.
Right, at about 14:30 today, [L/N] [F/N] ate lunch at Onigiri Miya after Sakusa Kiyoomi had ditched her. The owner, Miya Osamu grabbed her plate from her table, and put it on the counter, while basically telling her to eat while conversing with him, so she wouldn’t be lonely. The best part? He asked her for her phone number before she left for work.
As you finally began to put your undergarments on, a small redness appeared on your face. Just the whole thought of it was making butterflies appear in your stomach. A feeling you haven’t felt since highschool.
Your mind eventually moved on from Osamu, and moved to work. Your eyebrows began to furrow, as it all came back to you.
To put it simply, the PR team for the MSBY Black Jackals decided to make a TikTok, essentially asking each member “Who would be the first to go to jail, and what would they be in for?”. You were a part of this video, due to being chosen to be the interviewer.
Earlier, 15:49.
“Do you all understand how this video is gonna go, or should I go over it once more?”
You were currently in the main gym, standing in front of all members of the team with a small microphone in your hand. You look to see everybody shaking their heads, giving you the ‘go ahead.’
“Great. I’ll give you guys some time to prepare your answers.” You turn to look at Meian, and speak again. “Meian, you’re first, alright?”
He gave you a thumbs up, and with that being said, the older members split into their own group, laughing about who they’re going to choose, Bokuto and Atsumu went to the locker room to quickly fix themselves up, and Hinata and Sakusa walked over to you. It’s safe to say that you were still somewhat upset over Sakusa leaving so abruptly, and as they approached, you crossed your arms. Hinata was the first to talk.
“Hi [L/N]! You excited to be in the video? It’s your first time, right?”
You nodded your head. “Yeah, I guess I am pretty excited.” You then quickly look at Sakusa, and can see him visibly tense up. “So, how was the early practice? Hmmm?”
He side eyed the ginger for a short period of time, and eventually did a full 90 degree bow. This caught you by surprise, causing you to step back.
“I’m sorry for ditching you, [L/N]. Truth be told, there was no early practice.”
Your eyes widened, and numerous thoughts began running through your head. You were right about him lying to you! You were so right to the point where you didn’t even catch the fact that Hinata had also stiffened, and began to lightly sweat.
Was Sakusa about to rat him out?
“I knew it. So, what were you doing then?” You asked once more as Sakusa began to straighten himself up from his bow.
Before the taller man could speak, Hinata spoke instead. “Ohhh, Sakusa ditched you? Now, why would he do that?” He put his pointer finger on his chin, and began to tap on it lightly, trying to imitate someone who was thinking deeply.
You squinted your eyes, and made a face of disgust. “Why are you acting like that?”
“Acting like what?!”
The way that Hinata immediately defended himself attracted the attention of everyone else in the gym, due to the loudness of his voice, causing them to stare for a bit, and eventually return back to their conversations.
You sighed dramatically and pinched the bridge of your nose. “Sakusa, it’s fine that you ditched me. I just wish that you actually told me why you wanted to leave. Hinata, I don’t even know why you’re being weird. Is there something you want to tell me?”
You look at him, and cross your arms once more, while he begins to scratch the back of his head with an awkward smile plastering his face. “Nope. Sorry, [L/N]!”
“Okaaay…” You moved your head more to the left, seeing the camera man waving his hand at you. “Well, I gotta go start this video. See y’all soon.”
With that, you walked past the both of them, and once you were out of earshot, Sakusa nudged Hinata’s side harshly.
“Ow, Sakusa! What was that for?” Hinata whined, rubbing the side of his torso.
“What was that for? You almost exposed us, you idiot.”
“Almost exposed what?” Sakusa gasped lighty and Hinata screamed while the both of them simultaneously turned around, to be met with Atsumu’s curious face.
“U–uh, well um-mm–”
“HINATA!”
Before Hinata could mutter out an answer, the three of them turned their heads to look at a raging [Y/N], with her pointer finger covering her mouth, indicating for them to shut up.
Present time, 22:47.
Even though you decided that you would drop the fact that Hinata and Sakusa were acting oddly suspicious, it still kind of stuck with you.
As you finished putting on your sweatpants and hoodie, you couldn’t help but wonder what they were possibly plotting. ‘Could they be trying to surprise me with something? No, maybe not.’
Using your head to think about these things was ultimately frustrating. You did say you would drop it, so eventually, that’s what you did. You took the towel out of your head, and began to put in as many products as needed, resulting in you letting it air dry.
Finally, your nightly routine was finished. The only thing left was to scroll mindlessly for about an hour before falling asleep. After you walked out of your bathroom, you quickly went to your living room to clean any excess things, such as organizing throw pillows, putting any water cups in the sink, etc.
As you were doing that, your phone was lying comfortably on the arm of your couch. You heard a singular ‘buzz’ coming from it, and went to go check on it.
When you saw the notification you didn’t expect, you immediately threw it across the room. Thank heavens your floor was carpet.
Your hands covered your mouth as you began to feel a rush going through your head. ‘He texted that fast?! I thought it was going to take him at least a couple of days before actually texting me! What the–’
You sped walked to the spot where you threw your phone, ultimately picking it up and responding.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You quickly sat down on the couch, and put your phone next to you.
‘Is this actually happening?’
Yes, [Y/N], this is actually happening. You’re about to facetime Miya Osamu. Truth to be told, you didn’t even need five minutes. You live by yourself, meaning your apartment is usually clean most of the time, but there can be small messes here and there.
In the five minutes you had before facetiming him, you turned all your lights off, except your floor lamp to create a chill atmosphere, and got comfy on the couch, making sure you were in a position you were able to actually relax in.
Finally, you feel the vibrations of your phone, and mentally prepare yourself. Words could not even describe the excitement you were feeling right now. Was he feeling the same way?
After a few buzzes went by, you answered.
[bold + italics are osamu, bold is you]
“Hello?”
“Hey, Miya.”
He was sitting at a desk with a couple papers scattered around, most likely to do with his business. From what you could see, he looked pretty normal, not tired at all. He was wearing a white tee that hugged him in all the right places. You couldn’t help but wonder if he wore that for you.
“Yer livin’ room all clean now?”
You smiled, and responded, turning the camera to face towards your ceiling. “All clean. Would’ve been done earlier if you hadn’t distracted me, though.”
He chuckled, and averted his eyes to something that was most likely on his walls. He looked back at the camera, and put arms on his desk.
“Where’s yer face at?”
You smirked, and responded. “Why do you want to see my face?”
“Well first of all, it’s called Facetime for a reason. Second…”
He didn’t speak for a bit, and you stared at your phone, awaiting an answer.
“I miss your face. I uh– I know it’s kinda strange ta’ even say that, but yeah.”
You thought that was a good answer. A really good answer. You grabbed one of your pillows, and laid it flat, balancing your phone with it, basically giving him what he wanted.
“Thereee we go.” You couldn’t even hide the smile present on your face, and due to that, he began to smile as well.
“Happy?”
“Very. Now, how was work today?”
As the both of you began to converse about your shift, you didn’t even think about how nervous you were. Talking with Osamu was like talking to an old friend of yours. He didn’t make you uncomfortable one bit, and you really appreciated that. It just felt all too natural.
“Wait, so Sakusa and Hinata were actin’ weird?”
“Yes! I swear I don’t know what’s up with them, but I kinda just decided to not think too much into it.”
“I see. Did he at least end up apologizin’ for ditch’ ya?”
“He did.”
There was a small gap of silence between the two of you since you knew you had more to say, but didn’t know how to word it.
“Ya’know, Miya…”
He let out a “hm?” while still keeping his eyes on your face.
“I’m kinda glad he left me.”
“Yer glad that yer friend left ya all alone?”
“Well, no. I didn’t like that. But, if he didn’t, then we wouldn’t have talked as much as we did earlier.”
You could visually see him begin to think, and once he started nodding his head slowly, you figured that he understood it.
“Ya gotta point.”
“Right?”
Your many conversations with one another ended up going until 1:22 in the morning, until you decided to end the call. You were getting tired, and he was as well.
1:22.
“Miya.”
“Yeah?”
“I hate to end the call, but I can feel myself dozing off.”
He laughed, and grabbed his phone. “I can tell.”
You began to fiddle with your fingers while smiling, but then, you remembered what’s been on your mind since the first time the two of you met.
“Hey, before we hang up, can I talk to you about something real quick?”
“Go for it, no need ta’ ask.”
“Okay, well I– um…” You avert your eyes to your ceiling for a second, before continuing. “I’d rather not really tell anybody, especially Atsumu, that we’re… in communication. Well, for now, at least.”
He stayed silent for a bit, staring at his phone. You also didn’t speak up, as you didn’t even know what else to say.
You heard a small hum come from the other line. “Yeah, I kinda wanted ta’ mention that to you as well. He’s gonna go nuts if he finds out I’m talkin’ to ya, but at the same time, I don't really care, ya'know?”
“Oh, why?”
“In all fairness, you were his friend first. Somethin’ I learned growin’ up with him, is that he doesn’t like sharin’ his friends.”
“Well, you know what? Tell him to shut up.”
Osamu laughed, causing you to start giggling. After that little fiasco was over, the both of you just looked at each other's faces. You were analyzing, and he was admiring.
“Goodnight, Miya.”
“Goodnight, [L/N]. Come back to Onigiri Miya, alright?”
“You know it.”
𐙚 Bonus
“Who would be the first to go to jail, and what would they be in for?” You held the microphone up to each individual player, awaiting their answers.
Meian: “Barnes, for sure. He’d be in for probably killing some people. I think he’s secretly in the American mafia.”
Tomas: “Inunaki, because he would be a drug dealer, and when I say drugs, I mean cocaine, ecstasy, etcetera.”
Bokuto: “Uhhhhhhh… Meian! I dunno, he seems like the type who would randomly hit someone with a baseball bat!”
Sakusa: “Bokuto. He’d be in for tax evasion.”
Barnes: “Bokuto, and something to do with not filing his taxes.”
Hinata: “Oh, for sure Bokuto! I don’t think he does his taxes!”
Inunaki: “Meian, but I don’t know what he would be in for. Maybe… maybe breaking traffic laws?”
Atsumu: “Who do I think would be in jail?” He points at you. “You. Knowin’ you, you’d probably commit genocide.”
*everybody silently agrees*
[Y/N]: “It has to be someone on the actual team, asshole.”
Atsumu: “Oh… uh, Bokuto. Tax evasion.”
Bokuto: “Stop choosing me! I do my taxes!”
Atsumu: “Then stop yer complainin’ about it, would ya?!”

13:50.
“Alright, everybody! Thank you for coming to the lecture today, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me or any of the TA’s.”
With that being said, everybody in your communications lecture got up and began to either walk towards the professor with curiosity roaming throughout, or pack up and leave. You never really had much trouble with classes, as you were an outstanding student, but to be honest, school wasn’t the only thing on your mind.
You couldn’t stop thinking about Miya Osamu.
Well, more specifically, you couldn’t stop thinking about the food he had made for you. Yes, he himself was running through your mind, but the food was more important. It was seriously some of the best you’ve had. It had been six days since you were at Onigiri Miya, and quite frankly, you’ve been itching to go back.
As you walked out of the building you were in, you were debating if you should go get lunch there. You had work in about an hour and a half, yet, there were numerous thoughts roaming throughout your head.
‘Would it be weird if I went without Atsumu? Or just in general? But, I did tell Miya I was gonna be back eventually…’
The frustration got to you, and in response, you let out a small huff while beginning the short walk to your car. You did want to go back to Onigiri Miya to try other rice ball flavors, but you didn’t want to make things awkward. Would Atsumu be okay with the fact that you found his twin brother attractive?
‘Probably not.’
You reached in your pocket to pull out your car keys, as your car was in full view. If you did want to go to Onigiri Miya, who could you possibly go with? More accurately, who would be the best option to go with?
You didn’t want to take any of your personal friends with you, as you didn’t want them to catch on to the fact that you’re interested in someone new. You opened your car door, and quickly situated yourself.
slam!
You began to scroll through your contacts on your phone to decide who you should take with you.
‘Atsumu, no. Hinata… no. Inunaki? Out of the question. Bokuto, hell no. He has a big mouth.’ Finally your eyes landed on the perfect person to text.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You were surprised at the fact that Sakusa had agreed to come with you, let alone the fact that he was okay with being in the same car as you. You knew he wasn’t a big fan of being pretty close to other individuals, but a win is a win.
You were glad that you became acquaintances with him. He wasn’t the type of guy to really get involved in other people's business, and this was a good opportunity to possibly become actual friends with him.
You put your car in drive, and left campus while setting directions to Sakusa’s apartment, with new thoughts about what you should order when you arrive at Onigiri Miya.
𐙚 OSAMU
As mentioned before, it had been six days since you were last at his store. He had been wondering when you were going to come back.
He was currently sitting in his office at Onigiri Miya, and was filling out some order forms. Rush hour had recently ended, and he was glad he was able to take a short ‘break.’ His three scheduled employees were currently cleaning some areas of the kitchen.
A part of him wished he had asked for your number so he was able to know if you were even going to come back, but then again, you both only met once. And plus, Atsumu considered you to be one of his closest friends. The last time Osamu had expressed to Atsumu that he thought one of his female friends was somewhat attractive, a small, verbal fight had broken out.
Please note that this was back in highschool, too.
Yes, years had gone by, and they’ve both grown into (somewhat) mature adults, but Atsumu was still unpredictable.
‘He probably wants her for himself.’ Osamu scoffed. ‘Selfish pig.’
𐙚 YOU
14:16.
“I’m outside.” You spoke as you put your car in park. You had arrived at Sakusa's apartment complex, which was rather luxurious.
“I’ll be down in a second.” A deep voice responded back through the speakers of your car.
“Okay, bye.” You ended the call.
As you laid back in your seat, you decided to observe the scenery around you. His apartment complex was truly gorgeous. There was a lot of greenery, yet it was all neatly planted. You looked to your left, and saw the volleyball player walking towards your car in his usual outfit – some black gym shoes, black joggers, a black hoodie, and a black mask.
‘He wasn’t even lying when he said he’d be down in a second…’ You thought to yourself as you unlocked the car.
As he opened the door, he immediately sat down, and quickly settled himself.
You bowed your head as a greeting. Shortly after bowing, you began to nod your head, as you were very impressed with him. “Props to you, Sakusa. You’re very punctual with your timing.”
He pulled down his mask, and bowed back to you. “Thank you, [L/N].”
You quickly put in the navigation for Onigiri Miya, and began the drive.
“So, how’s your day been?” You ask, trying to start a conversation.
“It was okay. How about you? You had classes today, correct?” He responded neutrally.
You smiled. You remember mentioning your school schedule to Sakusa, yet he didn’t seem to be fully interested as you were telling him. “Correct. My day was great, but I got assigned a project for one of my elective classes. It’s okay though, it was expected."
He let out a small ‘hm' before going on his phone and scrolling. You quickly glanced at him, and focused back on the road, while gently tapping your finger on the steering wheel. ‘So much for communication.’
14:25.
There was about five minutes left of the drive, and you and Sakusa haven’t really spoken a word since your failed conversation, yet, you considered the both of you to be sitting in comfortable silence. ‘Popular’ by The Weeknd was currently playing, and the volume was at the perfect amount. You were internally jamming out, but was interrupted.
“[L/N].”
You look over at the curly haired man sitting beside you, and turn the volume down a bit.
“What’s up?” You ask, turning your head back, and keeping your eyes on the road in front of you.
“Have you been to Onigiri Miya before? Or is this your first time?”
You were a bit taken back by this, even though it was pretty unserious. “Uh, yeah. I tried it for the first time about a week ago.”
A small silence… “I went with Atsumu and Hinata.” You continued, in a less confident manner.
“Ah.” Sakusa looked out his window, and you thought that was the end of the conversation. Yet, he spoke once more, turning back to you. “So, you met Osamu? What did you think of him?”
Your heart dropped. Logically speaking, you shouldn’t even be concerned in this first place, but why was he asking question, after question? You decided to stay quiet for as long as you possibly could, while thinking of a proper answer. A couple seconds have gone by at this point, and Sakusa was still staring at you, expecting an answer.
You quickly turn your head towards him, with a still face, and turn back. “Um, you know… Miya seems like a nice guy.” Your eyes quickly move to the ETA on your carplay. ‘2 minutes…’ With that being said, you pressed the gas pedal with a little more pressure to speed up. You didn’t know where this conversation was going, which made you a bit tense.
Sakusa seemed to notice this, and nodded his head, deciding to stop talking.
‘What was that even about? Like? ... Oh, I have to turn here.’
You make a right turn, and enter the plaza where Onigiri Miya is located. It’s all starting to seem familiar to you. You decide to park in the same spot you were in last time, and after you turn off your car, both you and Sakusa get out simultaneously. He quickly pulled his mask up, and the both of you walked to the door.
You opened the door for him, and went in behind him. Immediately after entering, you’re both greeted by one of the female employees at the store.
“Hello, welcome in!” she spoke as she bowed to the both of you.
You both nodded back. You and Sakusa walked closer to the counter, and the first thing you noticed was that Osamu wasn’t in your sight at all. You were immediately disappointed, yet didn’t think much of it. As you look up at the menu, you hear Sakusa speak.
“Could you tell Miya to come to the front?”
The disappointment you felt earlier was gone at once.
“No problem.”
You briefly look at the worker, and see her walking to the back, most presumably to his office.
‘Round two, Miya.’ You smirked.
𐙚 OSAMU
knock knock!
“Boss, Sakusa is here with someone else, and he asked for you!”
Osamu immediately looked up from his paperwork, and put his pen down. ‘No shot.’ He thought as he got up, and straightened out his clothes.
He opened the door that leads out of his office, and to the kitchen. He could feel some anxious feelings being brought up within himself, but paid no mind. “Thank you, Ito. Could you go help prepare some fillings?”
“Yes.” She slightly bowed, and walked away.
Osamu began walking towards the front. He saw Sakusa first, staring back at him. And… It was you. A little bit distant from Sakusa, and looking at the menu.
“Hey, Sakusa.” Osamu turned to look at you, to already see you staring back at him. “Hello, [L/N]. I was wonderin’ when you were gonna show up again.” He said as he put his hand on his hips, while internally cursing himself out. He was trying to act nonchalant, but his true feelings got the best of him.
You responded with a chuckle. “Hey, Miya. I would’ve showed up sooner, but school got the best of me.”
As you and Osamu began a new conversation about what you would potentially be ordering this time, nothing between the both of you went unnoticed by Sakusa. Yes, he was quiet sometimes, but he was still observant. He noticed how you had that little smile plastered upon your face while talking with Osamu. He also noticed how Osamu’s cheeks began to flush a very light pink color, which Sakusa has never seen him do before.
“Helloooo, earth to Sakusa? Are you there?” He immediately snaps out of his daze to see you waving your hand at a safe distance in front of his face. “Hello.”
“Ya want the usual, ‘Omi?” Osamu began tapping some buttons on his register, before Sakusa could respond. Yet, nothing was wrong with this as the curly haired man began to nod his head.
“Uh, also, put [L/N]’s order on the same bill as mine.” He quickly spoke, putting his hands in his pocket.
You raised an eyebrow, and turned to Sakusa. “Oh? Why?”
“You picked me up, and drove me here.”
You stayed silent for a second, truly wondering if he was being serious. Yet, you internally grinned. This was your opportunity to drop the ‘friend’ bomb on him.
“Um… we’re friends. I don’t mind having to drive you to places.” Nailed it.
He sighed, and pulled his mask down. “I suppose. I’ll still pay, though.”
You shrugged, and internally came up with the solution to just pay for him the next time you both get food together. “Okay… um… I think I’ll do two bonito flake rice balls, and three tenmusu.”
“What? No vigorous amount today?” Osamu responded back, tapping more buttons on his screen.
“I actually can’t. My stomach began to hurt after I got back to my apartment last time.”
“What did ya expect? Ya had fifteen onigiri.” He grinned as he put both of his hands on the counter in front of him.
“Excuse me, [L/N]? You had fifteen?” Sakusa looked absolutely disgusted.
You didn’t even know what to say. You pursed your lips together and looked away. After a couple of seconds of silence between the three of you, you spoke up, and pointed to a table in the corner. “I’m going to sit there.” And with that being said you, walked away.
“Alright, ‘Omi. Yer total is ¥2,500. Ya doin card?”
Sakusa nodded his head, and handed Osamu his card. “By the way, could you, uh, make my onigiri to go?”
Osamu briefly looked up at the man in front of him, and looked back down to the card reader. “Yer not eatin’ with [L/N]?”
“I am, it’s just in case.”
Osamu let out a small “hm,” and handed Sakusa his card back. “Should be out in a couple minutes.”
With that, Sakusa walked to the table you were at, and took a seat across from you. You put your phone down, and the both of you begin to have a small conversation about relations to MSBY.
14:38.
“Order up.”
You and Sakusa both look at Osamu, holding a ceramic plate with one hand, and a plastic bag with the other. Sakusa gets up and bows to him, then grabs both from him without any issue.
“Whose bag is that?” You ask while pointing at it.
“Oh…” Sakusa puts your plate on the table, yet doesn’t sit back down. “It’s mine. My um– Meian texted me and asked me to come early to practice. So I got my food to go.”
You stare at him with a bewildered look on your face. “Meian texted you?” You tried confirming. You don’t remember him going on his phone since you both walked into the store, and you know that Meian would not be the one to text him, it would be Coach Foster.
“Yeah… so I’ll be leaving.”
You slowly nod your head. He didn’t sound too confident with his answers, and at this point, you knew he was making this up. “Okay, no problem. But how are you gonna get there? I drove you, ya’ know.”
Sakusa averted his eyes from you, and to the window behind, and almost immediately, a red Lexus EX, with tinted windows, halted directly in front of the store. As you heard the tires screeching, you turned around to get a quick look, and before you knew it, Sakusa bolted out of Onigiri Miya, and almost instantly, got into the car.
You watched with so much confusion as the car sped away, wondering where everything within this situation went wrong. Soon enough, you could hear footsteps getting closer to you, yet you continued to look out the window.
“Did Sakusa just leave ya by yerself?” A deep voice spoke. You didn’t even have to look at the person to know who it was.
“Yeah, it was really weird. I’ve never seen him leave abruptly like that.” You can feel Osamu’s eyes on you, and as you turn around to look at him, you’re met with a view of his sculpted chest, yet, at a safe distance. The shirt he was wearing wasn’t even covering the outline of his upper body.
You internally thanked God for this view, although eventually realized that you were quite literally just staring at his chest. You quickly shift your eyes to his face, only to be met with a smirk, which causes the tips of your ears to turn red. ‘Fuck.’ Is the only word appropriate enough to react with, because how else would you respond to this situation?
“Would ya like me to make yer onigiri to go? I doubt you’d wanna stay here by yerself.” Osamu asked, crossing his arms and keeping that smug look on his face.
You thought to yourself for a moment, and realized that this was your chance to learn more about him. And probably throw in a little flirting.
You put your right elbow on the table, and put your cheek in the palm of your hand, still keeping eye contact with Osamu. “Y’know, I would say yes, but I did come here for a reason.”
“Oh? Care ta’ elaborate?”
You mentally shrieked like a teenage girl. You loved where this was going. “What fun would there be if I did, Miya?”
𐙚 OSAMU
‘Is this actually happening?’
You coming to Osamu’s store was already the highlight of his day, but this conversation the two of you are having? He can’t handle it. Just imagine how he feels – he’s been wanting to see you for almost a week, and his wish has been fulfilled. Even with more added to it!
Then, almost instantly, he had the best idea. ‘Should I do… it?’ He wondered. He didn’t want to come off as weird, but he thought of a way to continue this conversation, and see more of your face while working.
He let out a brief huff, and grabbed your plate with the five uneaten rice balls on it.
“My food.” You whined, just loud enough for him to hear. He thought that was cute.
He then sets your dish at the counter that overlooks the kitchen, which could give whoever sits there a clear view of him and his employees, making the food.
He looks back at you, and motions for you to come and sit there. “I’ll keep ya company while ya eat.”
‘Was that slick enough?’ He asked himself, feeling unsure, but when he sees you pick up your necessities, and start walking to him, he can’t help but feel like he’s won the lottery.
𐙚 YOU
As you get closer, you watch the handsome man as he pulls out a specific chair for you, and you gladly take a seat. Then after, he pushes you in, and goes behind the counter, preparing to make more rice balls for his display case.
“Do you treat all your customers like this?” You asked, finally picking up one of your onigiri, and taking a bite out of it.
Osamu is directly in front of you, and as you’re chewing, your eyesight falls to his hands, looking through the glass, and watching the way he is sculpting the rice.
‘So he’s good with his hands, huh?’
“Eh, just the pretty ones.”
You immediately look back up at him, to see him already staring at you. You swallowed, and spoke. “Acting confident, are we?”
He chuckled, and began to wrap the onigiri he had just completed. “I’m just tellin’ it how I see it.”
You rolled your eyes while smiling, and took another bite of your food. “Thank you.”
Osamu briefly walked away to put the onigiri on display, which gave you some time to observe him, but from behind. You realized he had an upside down triangle body shape, which you found incredibly attractive. Your eyes then moved to his butt, and you cursed yourself in your head. ‘Why can’t mine be as big as his?’
“Oi, [L/N]. Ya checkin’ me out?” His voice startled you, causing you to instantly look anywhere else but him.
“I dunno what you’re talking about.” You denied. He could see right through you. He knew you were staring at him, and truth to be told, he didn’t mind at all.
You move your eyes back to his face, and sigh, before taking another bite out of your onigiri.
“Whatever ya say.” He began to work on the next onigiri, and once more, you looked at the way his hands stuffed the rice with filling.
15:08.
Time had gone by since you were seated at the counter, and you were nearing the end of your little trip to Onigiri Miya. You had already finished all five of your onigiri towards the beginning of your conversation with him, but stayed to talk. You ended up learning more about him, and he learned about you.
He told you that he was from the Hyogo prefecture, and he grew up with no other siblings besides Atsumu. He had also mentioned that he went to Inarizaki, and played volleyball as a kid, up until highschool. He was a wing spiker, and he was damn good at what he did. When it came down to you, you told him where you grew up, and how many siblings you have in contrast to him. You brought up the fact that you had played a couple of different sports when you were a kid, but didn’t have the passion to really continue as you grew older.
As the both of you were laughing at a joke you had made, you looked down at your phone, and saw the time. You had to leave for work now if you didn’t want to be late and risk getting lectured by one of your supervisors.
You sighed as you stood up, and handed Osamu your plate.
“Ya gotta go?” He asked, taking it from you, and putting it in the sink.
“Yeah, unfortunately I have work at 15:30.”
He wanted to tell you something along the lines of ‘Who cares about your job? Just skip work and stay here with me!,’ but obviously, he couldn’t. Instead, he said with a thin lined smile, “Well, ya gotta do whatcha’ gotta do.”
You nodded as you stood up, and grabbed your necessities, shoving them in your pockets. You look at Osamu, and bow. “Thanks for keeping me company, Miya. You didn’t have to.”
He began to wave one of his hands in a dismissive way. “Ya don’t have to bow, [L/N]. In all honesty, I wanted to continue talking to ya. Yer a lighthearted person, and ya can’t find much of that nowadays.”
Your eyes literally twinkled at that compliment. “I appreciate that. For all that It’s worth, thanks for not being unamusing.” And with one final bow, you began to make your way to the door.
Your heart began to pound, due to the fact that you were proud of yourself. Proud of yourself for not acting awkward, and for having a good time with a ten out of ten. Before you could reach the door handle, said ten out of ten called out to you.
“Wait, [L/N].” You turned around to already see him walking to you, phone in his hand. You waited until he got close enough to you, and when he did, you both stood there, staring at each other. It seemed like he wanted to say something, but was hesitating.
Therefore, you took initiative. “Are you okay?” you asked, raising an eyebrow. Then, almost instantly, he held out his phone, with the contact app already opened.
“Can I have yer number?”
You swore you almost fainted.
“U-uh, yeah! Sure.” You quickly muttered out, trying to hide the blush that was present on your face.
You also grabbed your phone and opened the contact app, ultimately, switching phones with each other.

𐙚 Bonus
14:39.
After Ongiri Miya was out of distance, Sakusa groaned, and looked at the individual who was driving the red Lexus. “Why do you drive like a maniac?”
“Nevermind that! Do you think she’s going to end up staying?”
Sakusa turned his head to look out the passenger window, and stayed silent for a couple of seconds, thinking about a proper answer. “In truth, I believe she’s going to stay. They seemed to take a liking to one another.”
A satisfied hum was used as a response by the driver, and after a few moments of tranquility between the two, Sakusa spoke once more.
“I don’t understand why you’re getting involved in a non-existent romantic relationship that isn’t yours, Hinata.”
The ginger rolled his eyes, and focused back on the road. “It might be non-existent now, Sakusa, but I get the vibe that they’re eventually going to end up together.” His mood lightened up, and he began to grin.
“Why not help kickstart her future relationship?"

16:39.
“Here’s yer fifteen tuna mayo onigiri, Ms. [L/N].”
You look over your shoulder to see Osamu holding up a flat, long glass plate with your onigiri lined up neatly, with green onions decorating the tops of each ball.
You let out a small “ah” before pushing your chair back and standing up. As you walk to the counter where he is standing behind, you can feel your heartbeat start to quicken just a little bit.
“Thank you so much, Mr. Miya.” You replied back with a small smile while taking the plate out of his hands. “You can drop the honorific, by the way.”
Before you could take the chance to walk back to your table, Osamu spoke, “Ya know, ya can also drop the honorific. Don’t make me feel old.”
You let out a small chuckle, “My bad, Miya. Thank you for the food.” As you bowed your head slightly.
“No problem.” He nodded. “By the way, if ya need a to-go box, just holler and let me know.”
You stared at the younger twin for a brief second, before speaking. “Oh, no, that won’t be necessary. Thanks, though.” You turned your back while smiling hard internally, and began the short walk back to your table before he could say anything else.
He stood there for about three seconds watching you, before realizing what he was doing would come across as creepy. He immediately turned around, and let out a short groan before walking towards one of his food stations.
“I swear on everythin’, [Y/N], if you don’t eat all that onigiri, I will break into yer house and watch you while yer sleeping.” Atsumu threatened in an annoyed tone as you set your bag on the table.
Onigiri Miya’s tuna mayo onigiri were reasonably priced at ¥350 (roughly $2.30), and since you ordered fifteen… well, Atsumu would've paid ¥5,250 (about $35) for your food, but, he got a little family discount, and ended up paying for only half of it.
Why was he even complaining?
As you sat down, and grabbed one of your onigiri from the plate, you responded while smirking, “Calm down, Atsumu. Why else would I order fifteen if I didn’t want to eat them all?” which earned a laugh from Hinata and eyes that began to roll from Atsumu. “Is this better than convenience store onigiri?”
Almost immediately, Atsumu’s mood changed. “Ohhhh, way better than convenience onigiri! Yer gonna love ‘Samu’s onigiri! It’s seriously so good to the point where you can’t even compare the two, tell ‘er, Sho!” He exclaimed as he nudged Hinata’s side.
You look at Hinata, and he begins to nod his head fast. “He’s not wrong, [L/N]! This became one of my new go-to spots when I started playing for MSBY.”
“Aaaand all our teammates like Onigiri Miya, too.” Atsumu chimed in once more, raising his pointer finger.
“Whatever you say…” you quietly mumbled, then look back at your onigiri.
You take the first bite, and chew about two times before the flavors really begin to sink in. ‘Woooah.’
This onigiri was seriously one of the best you’ve ever had in your life. It seemed as if there was more than just tuna and mayo in it… like there was something else in it, but you couldn’t figure it out.
You look up with widened eyes to see Atsumu and Hinata smirking at you. “It’s good, huh?” The blondie grinned.
“Fuck, Atsumu! This is better than good!” You exclaimed joyfully.
Both of your friends began to laugh loud enough to catch Osamu’s attention. He takes a small glance at Atsumu, then Hinata, and eventually, you. He watches the way you stare at the onigiri. His onigiri.
“Hey, wait, why does yers have a bunch of filling in it?! I swear, I never get that much in mine!” Atsumu complains, as he points accusingly at your onigiri, with you responding with a shrug.
Osamu quickly focused his attention back on the onigiri he was currently making. ‘Busted.’
He could finally feel himself relaxing little by little. He doesn’t really wait for the reactions of those who order his food, but with you, he truly couldn’t wait for you to try it.
“Boss, why are you smiling at the onigiri like that?”
Osamu immediately looked at his employee who asked that question, and neutralized his face. “What’re ya talkin’ about?”
17:06.
You huffed as you leaned back in your chair, putting your hands over your stomach, like you’re caressing your seven month old unborn child.
“Ain’t no away.” Hinata spoke in a small, yet surprised tone. Then sighed sadly, looking down at his unfinished bonito flake rice ball. “You seriously finished all that, [L/N]?”
“Fa’ real. I mean, at least ya made my money’s worth? But at what cost?” Atsumu adds as he stares at your… current state, while tilting his head with a bit of concern.
You move your head forwards to get a ‘good enough’ look at the both of them, then lean back again. “It was so worth it. No regrets. At. All.”
“Okay, understandable, but with all due respect, [Y/N], ya look like yer about to give birth.” He retorted, with unease.
A small sigh left your mouth, along with a chuckle. “I’ll find out the gender when I give birth later tonight.”
A small pause was left between the three of you.
“In the toilet.” You added on.
Another small pause…
“Get it? ‘Cause I’m gonna, like, poop it out of m–” “WE GET IT, damn it.” Atsumu’s eyebrows creased as he crossed his arms over his chest.
Before you could say something insulting, Hinata expressed his affection with a long “Awwwwwww!” He put one of his hands on his cheek, and leaned into it. “Are you hoping for a boy or girl?” He asked sarcastically.
“I want a–” You cut yourself off.
‘Gender? Gender gender gender gender gender…' And as your thoughts come to an end, you gasp loud enough to startle your friends.
You abruptly get up from your chair, grabbing your keys, wallet, and the glass plate. “I completely forgot! My essay for my sociology class is due tonight!”
You were surprised that you had forgotten about this assignment. Yet, who could blame you? You still have to balance four other classes, and a job on top of all of that.
“What the hell? Don’t scare us like that, you animal!” Atsumu put his hand on his heart dramatically.
“Shut it!” You scorned.
You quickly shuffle to the front counter and put your plate on it, and as you begin to walk towards the door, the ‘did I forget something?’ feeling comes to you. You look at both of your hands, holding your wallet and keys. You turn to look at the table, only to be met with confused faces from Hinata and Atsumu.
You look around the restaurant, and finally your eyes land on Osamu, who’s prepping some basic onigiri ingredients.
‘So that’s what it was…’ You realized as you walked back to the counter.
“Miya!” You shouted loud enough for him to hear.
He immediately stops what he’s doing and turns his head towards you. He sees your necessities in hand, signifying that you’re about to leave.
‘Shit.’ He thought to himself, as he began to take off his gloves, and wipe his hands, eventually walking over to you.
“What’s up?” He asks, re-adjusting his hat, then grabbing the plate from the counter with both hands, with a semi-surprised face.
‘She really finished all that?’
You begin to grin lightly after seeing that look on his face, while thinking about God knows what in that silly little head of yours. “Thanks again! I’ll be back soon enough for more.”
After saying that, you can see the slightest smirk begin to grow on his face. He leaned a bit closer towards you, lowering the plate in his hands. “Yeah? For another order of fifteen tuna mayo onigiri?”
You rolled your eyes playfully. “Nah, I gotta try the other stuff on the menu next time.” You let out a small exhale through your nose, and hold up your hand to wave. “See you soon.”
He nods, “See ya.”
With that, you turned around and left the restaurant. Osamu watched as you got in your car, went on your phone for a couple of seconds, and reversed out of your parking spot, before eventually leaving the plaza.
“Oi, ‘Samu!” Atsumu called out. His attention immediately went to his brother. “Why were ya so focused on [L/N] when she was leavin’?” The setter smiled smugly.
Most of the time, people were not able to read Osamu’s expressions, as he usually kept a neutral demeanor, but come on! Atsumu and Osamu shared a womb for nine months. As time went by, Atsumu’s ability to figure out how his twin was feeling exceeded profoundly.
‘First name basis?’ Osamu questioned internally. “Whaddya mean?”
“WhAdDya mEan?” Atsumu mocked. “Stupid ass, actin’ like yer bein’ nonchalant.”
Osamu quickly became annoyed with his brother. “What’s yer deal, ‘Tsumu?”
“OH? What’s my deal? No, what’s yer de–”
“Aw man! I wish [L/N] had already finished her school paper so she didn’t have to leave.” Hinata quickly interjected, putting his hands on his head whilst leaning back in his seat. He knew where this was going, and to be honest, he didn’t want to be caught in the middle of an argument between the Miya twins again.
Both of the twins stared at Hinata, and then back at each other before Atsumu spoke again. “Yeah, but ya know how she is when it comes to college assignments.”
Osamu’s interest was piqued, but kept it on the down low. “She’s in college?”
Both MSBY members nodded their heads.
“But didn't ya mention she works for yer team?” He continued.
Hinata stared at Osamu, with one of his eyebrows raised. The ginger then quickly caught on to the fact that he was trying to learn more about this girl he just met.
“Yep, she does. As far as I know, she’s twenty-one, a senior in college, and she’s a business major. Alsooooo…” Hinata paused trying to think about what to say. “Oh, right! The reason she’s working for MSBY is to get some experience for her future job.”
Osamu snuck a quick glance at Atsumu, to see him taking a sip out of his water, with no reaction on his face.
‘Shoyo’s not lying.’
The dark haired man walked away with nothing else to say, plate still in hand as he could hear his brother and Hinata continue their previous conversation.
‘Twenty-one? Isn’t that too young, though?’
23:44.
Osamu laid in his bed, flat on his back, with no noise in the background besides his fan. After he had closed up shop for the day almost three hours ago, he couldn’t get you off his mind. He was so confused by this. He had just met you, and sure, he thought you were pretty, but once again, you both had just met.
He turned to his side, and wondered about your three year age difference. Of course, he knew that three years wasn’t terrible, but ever since he was a child, he’s been surrounded by couples whose ages are either the same, or one year apart at most.
He let out a small, yet frustrated sigh, and grabbed his phone from underneath his pillow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As Osamu put his phone under his pillow for the second time tonight, he had all intentions of finally getting some sleep. This time, he felt semi-relieved, but still a tad bit unsure due to his friend’s answer to what he’d been wondering. He turned to his other side, capturing the somewhat cold essence of his bed, and finally, began drifting off into sleep.
One thing he’s very sure about, though?
He can't wait until the next time he's able to make his food for you.

15:11.
You were currently 7 hours and 11 minutes into your 8 hour shift.
Earlier in the day, Miya Atsumu went on the MSBY Black Jackals official Instagram account (with over 7 million followers, mind you), and posted a picture of a meme of Seong Gi-hun on the account's story.
Even though it was only up for 3 minutes, a few news pages, including TMZ Japan, posted about it on their accounts, basically making fun of the whole ordeal.
MSBY’s social media supervisor, Suzuki Dai, called an emergency meeting for everybody who worked in public relations to “talk” about this situation.
Earlier, 08:29.
You, and your coworkers were all sitting in your respective chairs, with a white table in the middle. “Who even let this happen?! Do you all not understand how embarrassing this is for us, as a professional volleyball team?!?!”
You gave one of your coworkers, Yamamoto Akane, a ‘whatthefuck’ look, but that didn’t go unnoticed by Suzuki. “Is there something funny, [L/N]?!” Returning your focus to him, you respond with a shrug, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh, don’t act dumb! I saw you give a look to Yamamoto!” He retorted. “If you want to say something, then say it now.”
You already knew this was going to be a long day, and this yelling just wasn’t helping anything.
“What’s your deal, Suzuki? Can you stop aiming your anger at me?” You hissed back, crossing your arms. “Everybody who’s talking about this situation isn't insulting our professionalism. If anything, it’s making our social media more popular.”
He put both of his hands on his desk. “I don’t CARE if it’s making us popular, we are still getting made fun of!”
You raised an eyebrow, and tilted your head a little bit to the right. “You– huh?” You pause for a second. “You don’t care if it’s making us–” You cut yourself off, and leaned back in your seat.
You knew better than to continue a conversation with stupid person.
Present time.
‘Ramen… no. Maybe yakisoba?’ You were in the middle of thought. Specifically about what to eat when your shift ends.
After the whole ordeal that happened, plus an apology, MSBY’s instagram account was up 15 thousand followers, which was very good in terms of gaining new fans. This caused you to become pretty carefree, well at least for the time being.
ding!
You’re snapped out of your thoughts as you pick up your phone and see who texted you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You put your phone down, and wondered. ‘Am I even craving onigiri? … There’s another Atsumu?’ You visibly cringed.
15:59.
As you were walking to the employee room to clock out, you quickly texted Atsumu to tell him you’re on your way.
After swiping your badge, you headed outside and got in your car, letting out a really big sigh of relief. Today wasn’t the best day, but there’s always worse.
After a few moments of silence, you picked your phone up, and quickly went on Atsumu’s Instagram to see what his brother looked like.
Curiosity began to kill the cat.
You slid through some of his posts, containing MSBY pics, sponsorships, and finally, a picture of him and his brother from 8 months ago.
As you inspected that specific picture, you began to feel kind of… weird.
The picture was clearly taken after an MSBY game, with sweaty Atsumu on the left, and his brother, wearing a matching jersey, on the right. They were both smiling, while giving each other a side hug.
They looked extremely similar, but different at the same time. You just couldn’t put your finger on it.
You avert your eyes to your carplay screen.
16:05.
“Woops.” you muttered to yourself as you began typing in the directions to Onigiri Miya.
16:18.
You pull into the plaza where Onigiri Miya is located, and since the lunch rush was over, it wasn’t terribly crowded inside the shop. As you get closer to the store, you can see Atsumu and Hinata sitting at a table by the window, with the ginger wearing a white beanie, and the blondie wearing a brown snapback, backwards.
You park in a spot almost directly in front of the store, catching the attention of your friends. They begin to wave to you, and you can see Atsumu turn his head towards the kitchen, probably yelling something to someone.
As you exit your car and lock it, you immediately feel a sense of nervousness. Why were you feeling this? Was it due to being in a new place? Was it because you were about to meet Atsumu’s brother?
You quickly composed yourself and walked inside the door.
“Waddup, shawty?” Atsumu smiled as he got up from his chair, along with Hinata, and dapped you up.
“Hey, [L/N], how are you feeling?” Hinata gave you a side hug.
You let out a small giggle. “I told you earlier that I was fine, right? That basically means I’m also doing fine now.”
“Yeah, I know, but I felt b–” “‘SAMU! COME HERE AND MEET MY FRIEND!” Atsumu interrupted, turning his head to the kitchen once more. The small number of customers that were inside turned to your group, with weird looks.
As Atsumu grabbed both of your shoulders and dragged you to the counter, you gave Hinata an apologetic look, while he quickly dismissed it with a small wave.
“That was rude.” You pointed out to Atsumu, as he put an arm around your shoulder. He responded with a shrug. “‘SA–”
“‘Tsumu, stop. You’re gonna scare my customers away.”
You turn your head to see a tall, broad man walking towards the both of you. He was wearing a black compression shirt with a small onigiri symbol in the corner, black joggers, a gold waist apron, and a black baseball cap.
You took one look at this man, and immediately thought: ‘Oh. My. God.’ On the outside, you looked completely normal, just watching as Osamu walked towards you. On the inside, you’re lowkey kinda not really but in a way freaking the fuck out.
“Took ya long enough, damn it.” Atsumu grumbled to his twin as you were snapped out of your thoughts.
“Did ya forget I have a business ta’ run?” Osamu counters. After a small scoff was released, he averted his eyes to meet yours.
That’s when all of Osamu’s thoughts instantly shut down. This had never happened to him before. Of course he thinks some girls are very good looking, but he thought you were one of the prettiest girls he’s ever seen in his life.
His face somewhat softens as the both of you stare at each other with that same look in your eyes.
“Man, I don’t care!” Atsumu groans. “This is one of my friends–”
“I can introduce myself, Atsumu.” You say calmly as you remove his arm from your shoulder. You can still feel the gaze of the other Miya on you.
“I’m [Y/N] [L/N], nice to meet you.” You say as you bow politely. As you look up from the bow, you see him bowing to you, while his lips curve into a very small smile.
“Miya Osamu, nice to meet ya as well.”
As you both stand up straight, you catch a glimpse of Atsumu giving you a look. He knows how you act when you meet a really cute boy — relaxed, and (in your own words) as ‘cool as a cucumber.’
You avert your eyes to the menu, as both brothers continue to keep their eyes on you. “So uh…” You nudge Atsumu with a small mischievous grin growing, “You’re still paying for me, right?”
“Yep, whatcha’ gonna get?” he says, not catching on with what you’re about to do.
‘Umeboshi, Takana, Salmon… ah-ha.’
You look back at Osamu. “Ten tuna mayo onigiri, please.”
While Osamu raises his eyebrow in curiosity, Atsumu gives you one of the most disgusted looks ever. “What the HELL are ya gonna do with ten onigiri?!” He yells.
As you look back to Atsumu, you let out a sigh. “You’re right, my bad.” When you look over at Osamu again, you give him your updated order. “Fifteen tuna mayo onigiri, please.”
“FIFTEEN–” Atsumu stops himself from speaking as he begins to walk away from the register, with hands over his mouth and wide eyes. As you begin to laugh, you can hear Osamu let out a few small chuckles.
Damn, even his laugh was attractive.

07:07.
The time your phone clock showed.
You stared at your phone while thinking about how cold it would be outside the comfort of your blanket.
‘If I get up, I’ll get reaaaally cold.’
07:08.
‘If I don’t get up, I’ll stay warm.’
30 seconds of quietness passes by.
‘If I get up, I have to go to work.’
07:09.
You set your phone down next to you, while positioning yourself to lay flat on your back, giving you the perfect access to stare at your blank, white ceiling.
‘If I don’t get up… will I get fired?’
You shift your eyes to your closet, eyeing down your black MSBY quarter-zip sweater. With one dramatic, yet tired sigh, you get up from bed, and finally start your day.
‘I’ll definitely get fired.’
About three months ago, you received a call from Hamamoto Jiro, the head manager for the Division 1 V. League team, the MSBY Black Jackals. You had applied to become a part of the public relations team, specifically the media team, due to needing a job to hold you over while you had started your last year of university.
Yet, you never actually expected to… get the job.
After slipping on your quarter-zip, a pair of straight legged jeans, and your Adidas Sambas, you checked your phone.
07:37.
“aaauuuuuuuuggggghhhhhhh.” A low, annoyed sigh was let out. Your shift started in 23 minutes, and for some reason, you thought you had enough time to make a stop at Natsukashii, your favorite cafe.
You quietly muttered to yourself as you grabbed the keys to your Toyota GT-86. Driving to work always brought you a sense of tranquility, as the roads were usually empty.
When you were about 5 minutes into your 18 minute car ride, your music stopped abruptly, due to your ringtone sounding. You look at your carplay.
Tumblr media
You answered the call with no complaints. “Hello?”
Atsumu was the first person you truly became friends with at work, due to you both matching each other’s vibes, yet in somewhat contrasting ways. He has a humongous ego, and you’re able to immediately humble someone. Need I say more?
“Good mornin’, [Y/N].” A moderately tired voice spoke over the phone, quickly followed by a short yawn. You could hear volleyballs hitting the floor in the background.
“Good morning, Atsumu. Aren’t you supposed to be, like, practicing?” You asked sarcastically.
“Ha-ha.” He grumbled over the phone while rolling his eyes. “I’m takin’ a coffee break right now.”
You hear him sip his coffee loudly, and before you could speak again, he beats you to it. “You comin’ in today?”
“Yeeeaaahhhh.” You elongated. “I decided I didn’t want to get fired just yet.”
You hear a brief chuckle over the phone line. “How long until ya get here?” You look at the time.
07:45.
“I’ll be there in 10.”
“Perfect, see ya soon.” And with that, the phone call ended. As your music started playing again, you decided to try and speed up a little bit to get to work faster.
07:52.
You look at the time on your phone as you exit your car and head for the doors to the main entrance of MSBY’s training gym. ‘Beat the ETA by 3 minutes.’ you thought playfully to yourself.
After walking through the main entrance, and to the employee’s lounge, you clocked in. Now, you have 8 hours before your shift ends. With that, you walk to the main gym where 12 of the Jackals were playing a practice set, not including Atsumu. As you begin to walk over to him, you take note of who’s playing.
‘Hinata’s on that side… Bokuto’s on the other… yeesh.’ Your eyes then land on Meian Shūgo, the captain of the Jackals. You quickly trail your eyes up and down his handsome body.
‘SMASH.’ is the first thing that comes to your mind when you see him.
“How are you already this horny, and it's barely 8 o’clock?” Atsumu says as you take a seat beside him on the bench. “Excuse me? I’m not horny. What could you possibly be talking about?” You say as you’re holding a hand over your heart in an offended, joking manner.
“Nah, I seen the way yer lookin’ at Meian. Keep it in yer pants, [Y/N].”
You leaned a bit closer to Atsumu, with your lips close to his ears. “Look at the way his sweat drips down his body, the way he bites his lip before spiking the ball, and if you move your eyes down his body a bit more, then-” You whispered seductively, yet stopped as Atsumu shoved your head away.
“Enough.” He sighs, his hand palming his face.
You begin to laugh at his somewhat annoyed state. “Just kidding!”
“No yer not.”
“Yeah, no, you’re right.” You spoke in defeat, shifting your eyes back to Meian. “Kinda sucks that he’s a bit too old, y’know?”
“No, I don’t know.”
You slowly turn to look at Atsumu with a disgusted face. After a few seconds of staring at one another, you get up and begin walking to the door. “K bye don’t ever talk to me again.” He waved you off, and just as soon as you were halfway to the exit…
SMACK
You instinctively cover your right cheek, and look down at the volleyball that’s bouncing. Up and down.
‘Ain’t no way…’
You look at Hinata, and he’s already on his way to you.
“[L/N], I’M SO SO SO SORRY! I DIDN’T MEAN FOR THAT TO HAPPEN!” You sneak a quick glance at Atsumu, who’s stifling his laugh.
You let out a smile. “Don’t sweat it, Hinata. It barely hurts!”
“Stop yer lyin’!” Atsumu yelled out from the bench, finally letting some of his laughter go.
“Shut up, piss blonde!” You yelled, earning laughs from a couple people. While Hinata was still in a small panic over his unintentional infliction of pain towards you, Sakusa had already brought you an ice pack from the coaches office.
“Ah, thank you, Sakusa.” You spoke as you politely bowed your head.
He nodded. And then… he just… walked away?
‘Weird.’ You thought as you lifted the ice pack to your cheek, not taking your eyes off Sakusa. You liked him, though. He wasn’t that talkative, and you thought his bendy wrists were really cool.
“[l/nnnnnn].” The weak voice brought you away from your thoughts. You look down in curiosity, just to see Hinata literally on his knees, bowing to you, with Bokuto and Inunaki cackling in the background. “imsorryireallydidntmeantohurtyouiloveyoupleaseforgiveme.”
“I already forgave you, get up.” You groaned, placing a hand on your hip. “My hair is gonna turn gray because of you!”
As Hinata began to stand up, still being teased by Bokuto and Inunaki, you left the gym.
It was time to get to work, and monitor all of the MSBY Black Jackals social media accounts, starting off with Instagram. Having all of the official accounts on your phone was your biggest flex.
As you went to MSBY’s profile, you could see a story was posted. This brought you to a panic, as you don’t remember posting anything, and although some others had access to the account, you were the one to do the posting and communications.
When you clicked on it, this is what you saw:
Tumblr media
Your eyes widened, and you immediately deleted it. You ran to the gym, and screamed: “ATSUMU!!!”

𐙚 osamu is 24, and is the owner of onigiri miya. he has 3 locations [osaka, hyōgo, tokyo], and is planning on opening another one soon in kyoto!
𐙚 he is a natural, self taught chef, but before opening onigiri miya, he gained some experience by working for a few popular chefs in japan.
𐙚 his current concern: the other day, a group of junior high girls thought he was atsumu with a new hair color. how insulting!
