I’ve found a photographer who is completely my style! The only problem is that she’s already doing exactly what I want to do. So I feel that everything I’m going to do has already been done.
Aside from that, I’m drawn to Collins’ work because of her use of bright colours, by what looks like gels on studio lights. She also uses objects in front of the lens to slightly skew the image to give it a different feel and texture. These techniques create a strong and powerful feel to what otherwise would be quite a girly image -empowering the women in her work.
