Steve：This is for you, Bucky. Honey-vanilla — I think you’ll like it.

Bucky：Is this an assignment?

Steve：What are you talking about? This is an ice cream cone! Sure, it may look a bit different from from our day, but you did love ice cream! Wait,what if… God. Those bastards!! They even didn’t let you know about ice cream??

Bucky：Steve, I’m capable of identifying ice cream.  It is a sweet food item that requires refrigeration.  It contains a certain amount of sugars and caloric value, and can offer a quick energy boost when consumed.   *Bucky close-up, vacant eyes*  I just want to confirm — is this an assignment?

Steve：… Of course not, Bucky.  I’m not ordering you to eat it — it’s just a snack.  No poison or anything.. :P

Bucky： *confused*  This morning I’ve taken in sufficient nutrition, my current physical status is good.  There is no further need for food intake at the moment.  If you are in need of sustenance, you don’t need to take me into account.  I am capable of assessing my own needs…

Steve：Take it, Bucky. I got this especially for you. Please. Don’t say that again.

We are not in any war.   We are humans, not machinery that solely waits for a fuel charge.  Humans need to try to enjoy things, and not just stay alive.  We fight, yes, but then we drink good wine and eat good food.  We enjoy music, sing and dance — you used to be good at all this!  We chat with each other just for fun.

This is what we fight for — to let others also have the chance to enjoy life.  In this future that we live in, new inventions are always pushing out the old things.  I don’t know these new things are necessarily better, but they still deserve a chance to exist.   And you… 

You deserve the best.  Always.

Never forget to be a human, and enjoy it.  If you need an assignment, I think this is the most appropriate one — soldier.

Bucky: *stare* *take* *eat*

This is freezing.  I don’t like the cold — it causes pain in my head.  A lot of pain.

Steve: Oh god, I’m so sorry, I really didn’t.. Bucky, I…

Bucky: But this ice feels different.  

Steve: …

Bucky: Perhaps … I enjoy this.  Even though it’s ice, it’s the good kind of ice.  Maybe I should try another one.
