Probably it will be a bit of a strange sketch with Sha'arnez but..

So I guess everyone who plays ATHWTU at one point wondered "Who the hell is this long-haired ghost-like creature?"

My guess is she's the High Priestess' dead sister

For a random backstory fact, that sister of hers gets mentioned way too often

First, it establishes a parallel between Lada and the Priestess that they both have lost their sisters. Then the Priestess thinks if her sister is cold in her overground abode. When Lada asks her about her sister's death, she seems very displeased with the question. Then she visits her hut after the dead have escaped from their "cemetery" and finds huge scratch marks on the walls

Obviously there's some history there that's building up to a significant payoff

My bet: Priestess killed her sister as a sacrifice to the gods to save the village. Which is also why Ozar got his gift of prophetic visions. He mentioned that it's a reward for loyalty from the gods. But when Lada said that an infant can't be loyal, he concluded that someone else had paid that price for him

I think that someone else was his grandmother and the price was her sister's life

And now her restless ghost haunts Lada — probably trying to warn her about the Priestess and her sinister schemes. She also could want revenge on the Priestess and the whole village for taking her life. Maybe she sees Lada as a tool she can use to exact that revenge 👀

I wonder how these idols could be connected 🧐

Pic 1 is the idol from episode 1 where Vereya was crying. It's there she made that quite ominous promise to Lada: "I will NEVER leave you" (which sounds sweet but then you realize that, true to her word, after her death she started haunting Lada as a ghost 😰)

Pic 2 is the new secret altar Lada and Ozar found in the forest in episode 3, season 2

The first idol was identified by fans as a replica of the Zbruch idol (discovered in Ukraine and now on display in Krakow, Poland). In RC it also has an inscription in Polish which roughly translates to English as follows:

"Three tiers of figures symbolize three cosmic realms. The moon, the sun, the sky. Four figures. Four seasons. Four faces. The universe"

Some scholars believe that those three tiers and three realms are the Heavens (where gods live), the Middle World (where humans live) and the Underworld (where chthonic beings live)

The second idol is actually a group of exactly three idols — which is a very significant number in ATHWTU, as stated in my previous posts

Interestingly, the alter nearby has the Star of Ingly carved on it. This star is apparently supposed to symbolize the Unity of Three Worlds in the Slavic cosmology — Prav, Yav, Nav

Prav is the abode of the gods

Yav is the human realm

Nav is the Slavic Underworld

Sounds just like those three tiers in the previous idol, doesn't it?

There's also another curious thing I've noticed 👀

The three tiers on the idol match the tiered order of the Three Sisters on Season 1 cover. I don't think it's accidental, there's actually a pattern here:

The upper tier — the Heavens on the First Idol — Prav on the Star of Ingly — Hanna on the cover

The middle tier — the Human World on the First Idol — Yav on the Star of Ingly — Lada on the cover

The lower tier — the Underworld on the First Idol — Nav on the Star of Ingly — Vereya on the cover

As to why the sisters are put in that order, I guess it's because:

Hanna seems distant from other characters because she doesn't talk (their gods are also silent)

Lada at the start of the story is an average girl with nothing special going on for her (of course, she can later discover her strength but the middle part works for her best)

And Vereya gets the lower tier and the Underworld because she dies very early in the story and spends the rest of it as a ghost

So I suppose both idols are another hint that the Three Sisters and their bond is the key to everything in that village 🤔

What do you like about Sha'arnez as his #1 fan?

I am SO GLAD that you did not ask me this about kazu, cuz I would have written a whole ass book and annoyed the fuck out of you. With sha'arnez, there are still not many things to say since we're only 9 chapters in. OKAY, SO....where do I start, let's talk about the first time we see him, he is sarcastic and a little mean but it doesn't rub me off the wrong way. Our countries have been at war for so long, he has killed so many esshai people and he must have lost many of his as well, it wasn't one-sided. No wonder he is reserved and cautious, you can tell he wants to say so much more, but he holds back, for the sake of peace and out of respect for tai. Then, that scene in which he carries tiss to her bedroom, he could have just called someone else, but no, he did it HIMSELF, and mind you, he has never carried a woman in his arms before. Then, the way he keeps on reminding tiss that he doesn't care for her, "I was only looking for lord nantal" "wouldn't want you to think that I was worried about you" "what if the dragon smells the blood" like okay dude, DENIAL IS A RIVER IN EGYPT. He says something else but his actions prove them wrong, he gives tiss his cloak when she feels cold, eats dinner with her, prepares warm water for her, is worried about her when the duel happens and personally comes to check on her to ensure that she's okay (could have asked the other soldiers), warns her about the emperor despite the fact that she is technically his "enemy", talks to her about his dragon, is genuinely trying to help her with the dragon issue, and AAAHHHHHH looks so fucking hot while doing so. Says hurtful things because the pain from the war is still there but then immediately follows it up with "If you thought I was being sarcastic, please forgive me. It was not meant that way", could have just left it at that, could have left her thinking that you meant to offend her, did not have to clear it up, why does an esshai woman's opinion of you matter so much? When she gives him a flower, he tucks it on the hilt of his sword, I just KNOW he went to his room, put that flower in a vase and blushed while thinking about the moment. AND, this fucking cg of his, he looks so hot in this, want me to tuck your hair behind your ears and kiss you till you are breathless, pookie? cuz you are for sure asking for it. To end it "he has beautiful cheekbones" "he looks good" "he looks really good". This man really got me blushing, giggling and kicking my feet. Also, the way that he is the only one who makes her feel comfortable says A LOT, "for some reason, this ro'odian made her feel comfortable and she hated herself for it" I hope I got it right. It's his straightforwardness that makes him so fucking lovable. He doesn't smile in front of her and then talks about killing her behind her back, he lets her know what he really thinks, about her and her current situation but will also motivate her if she asks for it. He never makes her feel inferior and has no problem laughing with her. He makes mistakes but also apologises for them, he realises that the difference between them is too much and yet is not afraid to take baby steps. Does not act like the imperials are perfect, has no problem in talking about their disgusting actions outside the battlefield. Absolutely love how mature and gentle and kind he is. There's just something so beautiful about a man who not only teaches you things but is also willing to learn from you. These are also the things that I loved about Kazu, I'm very consistent in my type.

my favorite ongoing books are the following:

reasons:

1. i gotta admit i liked the hs saga but it wasn't my fave, so when we got the news of a spinoff book, I was intrigued. I didn't know it'll become my favorite book on the app. the plot is addictive, the characters are top tier, the mc is complex and incredibly relatable, the li's are stunning <3 and bonus points for the facts that we have the opportunity to manage the mc's moral compass however we like, so fitting for a story set in a post-apocalyptic world where people has seen the worst of humanity. I srsly can't get enough it 🩷

2. at first I didn't feel the book that much, season one started off kinda week to my liking, the li's felt unreachable and way too cocky to me and wasn't relating nor understanding the mc AT ALL, but as the season went by, the plot advanced and the mystery began to unravel, I became more attached to the story. I ended up loving the characters and, even though I still don't feel the mc as much, I like seeing her navigate through this new world and her reactions. bonus points for the fact that they're obviously trying to connect the plot with hsr's which, contrary to popular beliefs, I'm starting to like a lot hehe

3. I think I might be one of the very few people who's loved goe from day 1 lol I've read so many opinions about its slowpaced plot and bland characters and mc, but I'm so invested in the mystery revolving the kpop industry in the book!! idk if it's got smth to do with the fact that I'm a kpop fan but yeah, i really like the mc and, although I agree that most of the li's don't do it for me, I still like their friendship path and im so excited to unravel the mystery fr

4. soulless is just THAT book for me. an unapologetic mc who doesn't care about what people think, who's battling with an existential crisis while adapting to an unknown world and lifestyle. I love that the characters don't comolrtely accommodate to her for starters, making the whole experience much more realistic. the li's are great, the plot is well thought and I love thay u can control the mc's journey of accepting/tolerating her newfound feelings.

5. I love witches, period. A book about witches and other supernatural magical beings is everything I ask for, and wtc with nova being a double spy is that and so much more, to me, at least. the mc is so relatable, the characters are GENIUS and work so well together, as a founf family trope enthusiast, I APROVE!!! I love the plot, the motives of the Incineration Alliance and the way we can shape nova's ideology is EVERYTHING!!!

6. it was about time we had an elves and dragons book imo. I love medieval/fantasy books and tts is unfolding wonderfully on that aspect!!! I love the murder mystery, the mc's new change of course from court member to dragon rider for the enemy's empire, the li's TOP tier and, again, I love the presence of magic in the book, I'm just a sucker for these themes hehe

a) Soulless - where do I start ? Amazing. Showstoping. Spectacular. Totally unique, completely not ever been done before. I LOVE every single love interest, I love Vyxaria as an MC no matter the path, I looove how neatly the plot all ties together - it's just all amazing. Best ongoing story I think.

b) Shakespeare's Code - despite the fact it's been 6 episodes, this story is bumped to the TOP of my favorites. It's just amazing, Amabelle is extremely entertaining as an MC, the love interests all have different plotlines, and I love how many stats & combinations you can have !

c) 7 Brothers - of course, it wouldn't be fair to talk about my favorites without talking about this story I've been defending tooth & nail since forever. A misunderstood work of art, I really like the MC, Jaynie's so relatable & an all-around character, I absolutely cherish her. Of course, there's the love interests & Langley's amazing writing strikes again. It's always the first story I play every update <3

d) Love, Sin & Evil - another underrated work of art, my favorite thing about this story is the mechanics of saving the characters ! Super innovative, I love it. I also think Mina's a super entertaining MC and the fashion is just top notch, though on the more expensive side 👌 Eagerly waiting for the next update & the upcoming finale.

e) Heaven's Secret: Requiem - unfortunately, despite all its problems, specifically romance-wise, I still really like this story, at least for the plot of it. I'm still invested in what the fuck is the deal with Lane, and how it's all going to end.

f) And The Haze Will Take Us - Suuuuper invested to see where Alice is taking this story. I was kind of torn on season 1 but I'm actually really focused on season 2 to see where this story and this haze will be taking us ! Looking forward to the next update.
