what i see: long, oddly specific lists like that are pretty common for asexual/aromantic individuals who want to get married someday (or who feel obligated to get married someday). it’s cuz we don’t have any sexual/romantic instincts to guide us, so we take an overly logical approach when trying to figure out what we want. It can be made up by thinking about the kind of person we’d like to spend the rest of our lives with, or by what kind of person we think the world expects us to end up with. I mean, I’m sure some allos do this too, especially when they’re still trying to figure themselves out, but it’s still very much a relatable aroace thing.

Im just. Very bitter about this. In fics it's all black and white. "oh yeah, this parent is shitty, the character must hate them" (even if they dont hate the parent in canon) and there's just. Blatant abuse in front of others.

Like. Parents dont do that. Parents are proud of their kids and want to show them off. Parents are mostly terrible behind closed doors. And even if someone were to witness something, unless you're really really close/know the kid very well, you wouldnt know whether it's harmless teasing or something else.

Goddamn i wish reality was that easy.
