...there was a scottish actor who played the Doctor in the modern era of Doctor Who. (Bonus he was in his 50s during that)

In this show he played the first season's main antagonist.

His character was the only interessing one to me. While I couldn't care less about the actual main character(s)

Ok there was one of the main characters who was likable...

Unfortunately the antagonist loses and dies at/after the first season's final and is not in the second and thrid season anymore. So I lost interest and stopped watching.
