I sent goblins_blackmail.jpg to 7 people with no context and goblins_savetim.jpg to 11.
My mother has responded with disappointment in me as her child, but my friend has responded with £30, which makes it all worth it.
Anyway, I'm blaming @goblinspod personally if I go bankrupt and get blocked by all of my loved ones.
The G.O.B.L.I.N.S crowdfunder has 21 days left, and you know what that means.
The macros in question:
(For actual context, G.O.B.L.I.N.S is a comedy podcast that is being made by Tim and Ben Meredith and co., the creators of Stellar Firma. The pilot episode is here, the crowdfunder is here, and their official Tumblr account is @goblinspod.)

I threw all my money at the G.O.B.L.I.N.S podcast because the team behind it is awesome and the pilot set the bar for a very high-quality show and also because I'm severely overpaid by my job!
Editor Maddy Searle did an excellent job with the pilot's sound design! Their work never fails to delight my earholes.
Tim made an awesome theme!
Now I have a crowdfunding reward that I probably won't use due to terrible social anxiety, and I'm pretty sure there's an OCEAN that I'd need to cross to do so. But it is a very cool reward nonetheless!
Please help fund G.O.B.L.I.N.S if you're able! Spread the word even if you're not! There are fun crowdfunding rewards! You can give a character a ridiculous name! You can make Tim Meredith write you a song! You can make Ben Meredith do a social interaction, the poor bastard!
Join me in goblin hell! I'm begging you. Please.

The Stellar Firma creators are making a brand new show called GOBLINS, and crowdfunding for it launches this Friday!
(I'm just a random podcast fan, but here's all the info I've gleaned. Yell at me if I'm wrong about anything.)
GOBLINS is a scripted comedy podcast written and performed by:
Tim Meredith (Trexel from Stellar Firma and SF's showrunner)
Ben Meredith (David 7 from SF, Elias from The Magnus Archives, Zolf and Grizzop from Rusty Quill Gaming, and Mathias from The Secret of St Kilda)
Imogen Harris (IMOGEN from SF and Helen from TMA)
Jenny Haufek (Hartro from SF)
Amy Dickinson (Number 1 from SF)
*** Additional details under the cut ***
Maddy Searle is working on the show, although I wasn't able to catch what their exact role is. (Sorry!) They edited for Stellar Firma and performed as Vice-Admiral Fun.
Sam Rae is the guest performer in the pilot episode, and it seems like there will be additional guests in future episodes.
THIS FRIDAY, 12th July
At 2:00 pm BST, the pilot episode will be released on social media.
At 6:30 pm BST, there will be a crowdfunding launch stream on TheBrothersMeredith Twitch channel.
Not many details have been released so far, but the show will feature a lot of English folklore. The main cast consists of two goblins, an elf, a human, and a poltergeist.
GOBLINS is being created independently from Rusty Quill. But I will be tagging RQ anyways because it's relevant to RQ fans, dangit.
I am THIS close to pestering people in their ask boxes just to make sure they've heard.

Modification(s) to Existing Magnus Database Record(s)
Modification date: 2024-03-21
The following modifications have been completed in The Magnus Database.
Item type for Object "Mr. Bonzo" (item type: MSC) changed to Party (ID: BONZO)
Reason: Admin initially added "Mr. Bonzo" as an Object (item type: MSC) because I suspected there was a TV show named "Mr. Bonzo," in addition to the character. That guess seems to be incorrect as of MAGP 10.

Modification(s) to Existing Magnus Database Record(s)
Modification date: 2024-03-14
The following modifications have been completed in The Magnus Database.
Changed ID of Object "Response 121" (item type: MSC) to "Response one-to-one"
Reason: As of MAGP 09, the official transcripts refer to the item once as "Response 121" (MAGP 01), once as "Response department one to one" (MAGP 05), and once as "Response department one-to-one" (MAGP 09). Admin made this change because the majority of references now spell the term as some variation of "one-to-one."

Vague Spoilers for TMAGP Episode 9
I was trying so hard to get into a spookable mood. Then Jonny's deadpan read of "nooooo" killed me.
I'm calling the order in which the OIAR employees/ex-employees are gonna get taken out of the game.
Teddy (Death flagged?)
Colin (Dead man walking since ep 1)
Gwen (Pitted against the horrors by Lena)
Lena (Is a baddie but not high in the baddie hierarchy)
Celia (Safe for now: holds the TMA connections)
Alice (Safe: creator favorite)
Sam (Safe: relatable everyman)
This prediction is a challenge. @ RQ, kill Sam in MAGP 10 or you're cowards.

All the sources cited in MAGP 08 are real. I didn't go so far as to check whether the sources actually contain the information that the episode attributes to them, but I'm guessing that the citations are accurate. False citations to real authors would be a big no-no.
For us, this means two things:
TMAGP takes place in a universe where all of these works were written. Is it supposed to be our universe? Who knows.
A MAG writer--presumably Alex--has read some weird papers, which I find very funny.

While I was listening to MAGP 08, I wasn't 100% sure who wrote the episode. Then Alice roasted Norris's voice again and I knew.

The Magnus Database: Status Update
Just a status update for the folks who decided to follow me.
Due to some big IRL stuff, my database updates aren't going to be quite as quick as I'd like them to be. However, I fully intend to make updates for episodes within a week of their release.
I'm working on reconstructing the ARG websites for long enough to add as much ARG info into the DB as I possibly can. It's going pretty well, but it's a pain in the ass. Again, IRL stuff has been slowing my progress a ton.
This week, I added placeholder records for Lynne Hammond, her statement, and the TMA episodes in which she appeared/was mentioned. I made that call because the shared name and voice actor of TMA's Lynne Hammond/Celia and TMAGP's Celia Ripley seemed like a significant enough connection for me to create a record for it.
I'm not planning to add all of TMA to the database. Not yet, anyway.
Happy TMAGP First Monthiversary. Episode 10 comes in less than a month, and if creator Q&A's are anything to go by, shit's gonna go down.
0 notes
This is my real, actual, non-shitpost TMAGP prediction: the biggest big bad--the fiercest antagonist--is going to be 100% human.
This prediction has no basis whatsoever, but I needed to say it.

Let me get this straight. Celia from TMA, who went by the name of Lynne Hammond prior to the eyepocalypse, exists in TMAGP with the full name Celia Ripley.
What?
How?
It's possible that her name in TMA was actually Celia Ripley and that she gave "Lynne Hammond" as a fake name, similar to "John Smith" from that same episode. But she was trying to get money from the Magnus Institute, and I can't imagine why you'd give a fake name while trying to get a cheque written out to you.
It would also be weird that she unknowingly chose to go by her original first name, after she got her name stolen.
It would be endlessly funny to me if they just never explained this in the show whatsoever. It's just a weird coincidence or something that's vaguely alluded to. I'd love that.
I'm mostly just mad that I'll have to start adding OG MAG episodes to the database now. Half the reason I hope Norris and Chester aren't Jortin is so that I don't have to add all 200 episodes and a billion item records.
