(lmaooo you cannot do the same move twice on him, he learns too fast)

in conclusion, please never say/imply that:

Miles is not on the same academic level as other Spider-nerds

Miles is less capable in fighting/combat than other Spider-people

Miles is not as good at strategy than other Spider-people

Miles is too naive/childish/optimistic to have practical intelligence or pick up on when something bad is going on under the surface

Miles's smaller amount of experience means he is generally less competent/capable than other Spider-people

Andrew Mjnyard, you deserve the world

personally i think after neil and andrew have the “borrow it until you find something of your own” chat andrew takes the break to actually plan for his future and look into a major he wants. hes no longer medicated this “thing” between him and neil is a thing now. he’s slowly but surely letting his chicks leave the nest (for lack of a better way of phrasing that forgive me) and now he really needs to start living for himself and not his oaths to other people. or if anything he can hold onto neil and use him to start taking steps however big or small to really seeing a future for himself. he can let good in, he can want things. he can have things. so he starts small and actually pays attention to his classes or starts taking ones that sparked interest in the past but seemed too out of reach. andrew begins to consider exy as something other than an obstacle. he doesnt love it like neil or kevin does per say but he can take part in the satisfaction of locking down goal, or a team victory. he joins a club at school and maybe he doesnt make new friends but he does something for himself that he doesnt have to share with anyone else (totally picturing pottery or something like that btw) andrew minyard begins to live instead of fight his way through everyday. he doesnt let his guard down. not when he knows ichirou is watching them all, making sure they hold up on their end. but andrew keeps going.

saw a post about how jean and neil are pretty alike so andrew would probably like jean and just. thinking about how andrew could teach jean everything he's learned about bodily autonomy and consent and trust and self worth. thinking about aaron killing drake and neil putting a hit out on grayson. thinking about them both finding partners they trust to respect their boundaries. thinking about neil saying "andrew's taught me about give and take" and how andrew could teach that same lesson to jean. thinking about andrew teaching jean to trust bee and telling him about what he talks to bee about. thinking about jean getting bee a glass figurine for her collection because andrew told him she likes them. thinking about bee getting jean a magnet in return. thinking about how they have like more than a foot of height difference. thinking about them bonding over making fun of kevin. thinking about jean getting to know the person who finally stood up to riko and protected neil from him. thinking about jean learning that neil went to evermore to try to protect andrew from proust. just andrew and jean okay!!!!

It's actually so important to me that Andrew gives Neil the keys to the Columbia house before they get together and before Andrew ever thinks something could happen between them. As far as Andrew knows, Neil doesn't swing, and Andrew himself would never act on his attraction because Neil is dangerous, so the painfully meaningful, tender gesture of giving him his house keys is just... selfless. It's just "I want this scared rabbit to know he has a home to return to when he feels the urge to run", even if he doesn't return for or to Andrew, Andrew wants him to feel safe :')

when I read aftg the first time I thought the best scenes were "thank you, you were amazing" "it's always yes with you" "i am nothing and as you've always said you want nothing"

but now I can see that the best scene is clearly when Neil asks Andrew how he can stand their relationship after everything he went through and then he tries touching his arm and Andrew says "no" and Neil stops and "that's why"

andrew's smart. andrew's so fucking smart. after baltimore, he's given twenty minutes, so he speaks in german to neil first, to isolate the conversation, to get the information he needs to assess the situation. then, he switches back to english so that the foxes can understand and rally behind him. he uses them and their aggressive loyalty to their own– loyalty that andrew understands better than most– to outnumber the fbi agents and gain the collective upper hand. the foxes love a fight. the foxes are born to fight and they live fighting. andrew uses that part of them exactly when he needs to because that's what he has to do to keep neil with them. and it fucking works.

See the difference is, the Foxes know Neil's deer in the headlights "... I have friends?" wide eyes and his "I don't understand your pop culture references nor any non-emergency reason to text people" confused frown while people like the Feds and Jean know his "I will cause migraines and shed blood bc I'm a multitasker" nonchalance and his "I got it from my dad" shit eating grin

And THATS the source of his utter mischaracterization
