On November 30th, I turned twenty!

When I would write my fanfiction stories online, every version of me was twenty. I never wrote farther than her twentieth birthday because I never envisioned myself reaching that age. But, I made it and wrote a whole blog post about it.

Ordinary can always wait a little longer and not being normal isn't so bad.

I've learned that your teen years come with a lot of mistakes. But, so will your twenties, and I am all for the ride.

Not only did I find a place where I belonged, but they taught me to find a dream. To hope for a better future and to imagine myself in it.

Five years ago, I lost my father one month before my fifteenth birthday. In honor of his anniversary week, I wrote on the Love Always, Lexiss blog about the people who have helped me in the time he's been gone.

If there's anything I've learned about grief, it is to let yourself feel those emotions as much as possible. But, allow others to sit with you for a while, and help you understand them too.

in september, i went to two concerts and was able to watch a singer from my childhood who shaped a lot of the woman i am today! recounting the last five years of my life is never easy, and sometimes it's hard to trust the universe, but i'm slowly learning :)

in july, i took a step out of my comfort zone and traveled over 10 hours to visit and meet my internet friend of (almost) three years, chelsea. a bond formed through a love for aphmau characters, and i am always going to be grateful to the universe for gifting it to me :)

in june, i went back to hawai'i in honor of my father's fifth anniversary since he passed away. hawai'i is not only were my parents were born and raised, but it is where my culture lies as a native hawaiian. immersing myself in my people's culture is always something i am grateful i get the opportunity to do.
