One thing is certain of the Cait/Caitvi antis The majority of them are so up their own moral ass and are so ignorant to even realize that yes, there are black and POC, who are very gay and love/like Caitlyn and Vi. Who relate and understand these characters, and also think that they’re cool, because they are why is that so hard to comprehend not everyone is in a monolith. Bullshit, fake activism people just trying to enjoy things in peace.

PERIOD
Like literally they get on their soapbox with loudspeaker scream that they hate Caitvi and then, when people tell them to shut the fuck up! and throw a brick at them, they’re offended like.
"I have every right to hate caitvi!!!"
And I have every right not to read another word of your idiocy.
The defensiveness is pretty hilarious, tho, ngl. Some of you are so offended that we don't give a fuck about your tepid takes on the ship.
We're three months post canon. This is "love the blorbos" mode. No one gives a shit that you don't like a character or ship. This is what's so pathetic about antis. They waste their own time talking about characters they don't even enjoy. For months.
You can stop at any time. No one is forcing you to be here. For fucks sake, I think we'd all be happier if y'all just fucked off and quit posting your shit in the main tag, pretending that your shit opinion is even remotely valuable to anyone here.
It isn't. That shit your mom told you growing up that your opinions and thoughts are always valuable and deserve to be heard?
That was a lie, dear. In reality, not all opinions are created equal, nor are they always worth the air taken to express them.
It's like a vegan entering a steakhouse, only to bitch and moan that everyone in the building is eating meat and harming the planet. The patrons are enjoying their meal and discussing the experience with each other, only for some brave soul to climb on a soapbox to screech from a speakerphone that they're all terrible people who should be ashamed of themselves.
Doesn't that sound fucking obnoxious? Or the least counterproductive? You're not changing anyone's opinions here, Ava. You're just pissing people off so you can cry about how mean everyone is to you for supposedly standing up for what you believe in.
Nevermind the fact that these are fictional characters from a fictional world and your idea of activism starts and ends with online shit posting. For all of you who believe that you're making a stand for something by flaming a shipping tag on fucking tumblr of all places, if you're also an American, well. Good news! We're living through a fucking coup right now led by a goddamn billionaire who hates the working class! He might just think the concept of a repressed undercity is a swell idea!
Why not put your fucking money where your mouth is and go bother that stupid fuck?
You won't. Because that's hard. Posting leftist talking points and shittily applying them to a fictional lesbian ship is much easier, right? We should all be welcoming to y'all, huh? You're trying to save the world, after all!
Man, that shit's the most obnoxious part. Shut the fuck up already.
Or don't. And continue to either get blocked or shat upon when making dumbass posts that one asked for or desired. You're only wasting your own time.

All of this. I sometimes sit and wonder the fact that they’re just normal Piltovian people just living their every day lives like merchants or bakers, a flower shop people with desk jobs. And then them just getting bombed in attack because a crazy bitch just decides to do it. Like da Fuck. also Canon the fact that there are Zaunites who worked hard to live in Piltover but they’re still getting terrorized.
For Example the people in 9/11 were literally just normal people at work.
Jinx doing mindless terrorism only leads to more violence. I truly can’t stand performative, black-and-white activism literally stands for nothing.
i've said this before across different posts but we've never met a piltover citizen in the entire show of arcane who wasn't either a member of the elite, the ruling class, or an enforcer!!
the closest we have to it was jayce's mother at the start, but we know very little of her, and she's also not exactly an average person by virtue of her son being extremely highly educated and sponsored by one of the richest families in piltover + his trajectory of social mobility to become a member of both the elite and the ruling class
simply put, we don't know the average piltovian. we don't know what their way of life is like, what their socioeconomic class is characterized by, what they think of zaun, etc. so from the way their society is built, it's perfectly safe to assume that not all of them are filthy stinking rich bigot councilors or cops.
so when i see posts about how "jinx should've bombed piltover to the ground", "she's better than me, i would've destroyed the entire topside", etc i always feel like that's a great example of performance activism. you don't actually care about social or economic inequality, you see class identity as black and white with nothing in between, you don't care abt individual (fictional) human lives bcuz you can justify why some ppl don't deserve to live, and you have no concept of how oppression comes to be and how it can be dismantled (other than by blowing every piltovian up).
many factors play a role in how the characters should be understood and evaluated by the audience and the show has shown us this:
silco is a zaunite and thus "oppressed" but not the same way isha, also a zaunite, is oppressed - because he's rich, a part of the ruling class in zaun (similarly an oppressor considering how he flooded the lanes with shimmer, hunted firelights, and even had the other chembarons under his thumb), and he's even capable of pulling strings topside. it's about where you're from, yes, but it's also about how much money you have, what functions you have in the society you're a part of, and what other members of it think of you.

This is how I literally feel the fact that Vi’s actual toxic relationship has nothing to do with Cait, but everything to do with her sister jinx. And what’s more ironic is the fact that Jinx is the one that ends up making Vi choose herself for once. And when Vi chooses herself the dumb bitch audience is like oh how dare she? I’m just like fuck off. I adore Vi
The annoying jinx Stan’s rather have a toxic codependent, sibling relationship. Because that’s totally chill 😑
Dude people act like I’m a villain when i say that it’s okay if Vi chooses herself and her own well being. Something she’s never done in her life. Vander burdened her at a young age with the responsibility of her siblings, she went straight to jail and worried about her sister the entire time, then as soon as she got out of jail, her focus was her sister. Some of the reason she loses herself in season 1.
Vi isn’t a villain or selfish for choosing herself for once. She also deserves to heal, love herself and foster other connections/paths in life. And that doesn’t mean she doesn’t love her sister but she also needs to grieve the relationship change. Like people do. Makes me sad when people want Vi to just be a prop for Jinx and want them to continue their co-dependency.
No friend you are not a villain, everything you said here is 100% true 👍
And this is exactly what I always say to some people who get angry or say that Vi is a villain or a bad person because she chose herself and she is trying to do what she thinks is right. I mean Jinx chose herself too and I don't see much criticism for that. So why is Vi the one who gets so much criticism and hate for such silly and unfair reasons!? Should Vi always take responsibility for her sister's actions?
Jinx destroyed Vi's chances at a new life and destroyed Caitlyn's family and murdered a lot of people. All this and these people don't want Vi to stop Jinx and stop this war that her sister has caused.

Lord Literally, this.
Arcane: There is no villain in the show, just characters and groups trying to fight for what they think is right and for themselves. The only villain is violence that they spiral into. Picking up fights instead of diplomacy brings death of innocent on both sides, worsens mutual hate and gets them nowhere. But they shouldnt be blamed for that, as they are just human and they only have their own, subjectuve perspective of situation. We as viewers have insight into beliefs, motivations and situation of each side of the conflict and thats why we can realize that its not as black and white as they think.
Arcane fandom: Pilties are evil because they are rich and Zauners are good because they are poor and i will personally attack everyone who disagrees with me because im the only right one in this discourse

hey guys did we actually cancel cringe culture or did we just replace it with the slightly more elaborate ritual of ascribing objective moral value to works of fiction and making sure anyone who likes something Bad knows they should be ashamed of it

The thing that’s been pissing me off lately is annoying people going oh, Vi is dumb. Like literally shut the fuck up she is not she is the one! exception to the dumb brawler type of character. You may consider the old version of her dumb or the video game cartoony version of her dumb, but not the new one The creators made it very clear that she is not dumb example, young Vi this child likes to read or yes, this character likes to learn like it’s all there. Is a mixture of New Lore and old Lore eventually Vi becomes a technician she’s not a fucking idiot like, for fucks sake. are you people confusing her personality with her intelligence like what does that say about you.
Such a dumb bitch head cannon I swear I fucking hate it.
Also Do people not understand that there’s different types of intelligence not just fucking stem.

I know no one is going to actually read this but fuck oh my god
I've been in multiple fandoms over the years and never EVER in my life I've seen people have such visceral reactions towards a character like Caitlyn Kirammam.
There are mulpitle characters with way WAY more questionable actions than hers and I barely see anything of them...like people may don't like them but it's never in such an insane degree...
People bringing up real life tragedies when talking about her is so triggering :( both my grandparents are Syrian refugees and to see people talking abt genocide so casually it's just so insane.
Sorry but hating a fictional character it's not the activism you think it is... like fuck off you live in Ohio you know nothing about opression, let people enjoy stuff in peace.

The funniest thing is vehement caitlyn haters who get the facts wrong and absolutely did not understand the media they consumed. Like they're over here big mad(still) over something they did to themselves pretty much. Purposefully misconstruing the narrative and ignoring the story(specifically ignoring ambessa and the role she played as well as ignoring jinx as a major factor in zauns damnation)

Just all of this.
At this point these haters need to get left in there echo chambers to rotaway it’s about to be April.
I want to talk about the people who are overlook Caitlyn's trauma and the suffering she went through in two seasons, to the point where it's really annoying and suspicious, honestly.
There are people who unironically believe she deserved the worst in season 1 alone. S1 when she did nothing wrong at all. On the contrary - she's trying to do a lot of good, she's being selfless and compassionate. On the other hand, characters who did commit crimes are being excused.
The artist is: @roosdrawsthings on Instagram and @RoosDrawsThings on Twitter/X
Like some people see her as privileged and as someone who suffered enough not like Vi and Jinx (she only lost her mom, she had a funeral when Zaunites don't) so she can't be a victim and feel pain and lost. This is so fucking stupid!
rich people can also be in grief and a target for manipulation. They are human beings too, a shock that has nothing to do with social status or job. And here are the reasons I think people so easily villainize Caitlyn:
Before that there is something important I have to talk about there’s also such a problem with people viewing things as either completely right/good or completely wrong/terrible and with people not able/willing to admit when they’re wrong or when someone has changed their mind.
Opinions are mistaken for facts. Differing viewpoints are attacked with ferocity. Hateful things are said about fictional characters who are supposed to bring us joy/comfort. It’s freaking ridiculous and has become such a massive problem in several of my top fandoms and I’m exhausted.
So back again to Caitlyn their reasoning is she comes from a privileged upbringing, is part of the oppressive higher social order and is a member of the police force that frequently harasses the citizens of Zaun. All of these come together to make her appear as someone that we as a progressive and morally just society are meant to frown upon and judge, cause those types of people are often to blame for many of the issues in our society.
With those pieces in place they see her as this inherently morally wrong person who needs to be dragged through the fire in order to redeem herself. They hold her to an almost impossibly high standard and will tear her apart if she even slightly steps over the lines they have laid out for her. That's why they like to paint her as genocidal war criminal for releasing The Grey and choose to ignore the obvious that she used it strategically rather than flood the whole city like Jinx did(who btw will get endless passes and excuses for her actions cause she is the "true victim" of the story). Jinx is not the only victim on the show.
And there is something else I want to talk about it, and it's modern liberal spaces, especially among young people. Most people have become obsessed with putting people in little boxes and making assumptions based on that alone. They are unwilling or incapable of seeing people as PEOPLE instead of just labels. It's like re-inventing the racism wheel all over again. We put labels on people and decide if they're good or bad, we don't look at what they do or listen to what they say because that's harder. It's easier to just discriminate against someone based on how they were born. And then the irony is people will accuse Caitlyn of discriminating against others when actually they're the ones discriminating against her, based on her background. It's just a maddening endless cycle of hate.
They also don't quite realize that not everything in the show is meant to be an allegory for real life political turmoil. The concept of a privileged society oppressing another through force has been done in many stories and while they may have been inspired by real events that doesn't mean they were intentionally sending a politically driven message to the masses.
Caitlyn's haters also brush over her trauma a lot too, not only of her mother's death and wanting to avenge it. But to also wanting to kill the person who kidnapped her and almost killed her twice. She hasn't had the time to really process it all and all those wounds are fresh in early season 2 so of course she ends up going dark for a time.
Caitlyn went through grieving, angered, depressed, vulnerable, and... alone. Not a single voice of reason or support around
• Father? Also grieving and distant.
• Childhood friend? Disappeared.
• Vi? Pushed away.
And that’s the vacuum Ambessa mentioned when talking to Vi. People still didn’t understand that? Wow, I guess not everyone throughly watches the plot of series, I suppose.
So in the end Caitlyn for me has one of the best arcs, if not the best, while not being a clown, like Jinx (I like Jinx tbh, but least be real guys). Some people just hate it. Some envy it. Bc much of Cait's hate is simply irrational. Just ugly whining babys out there.
They are literally make Caitlyn the only villain in Arcane. There's Jinx who committed acts of terrorism and murderer. There's Silco's right hand ( I mean Sevika) happily enforcing his rule through violence. There's Silco himself, who tried to kill an entire family and forced the children to work in the Shimmer factories and he suppressed his people himself so that they would obey him, and there is Ambessa the character who committed the most evil acts in the show. And Viktor, who wanted to kill and control all the people of the two cities of Piltover and Zaun. But no, it's Cait that is the worst 🤡
Make it make sense.

The amount of people who totally disregard the whole speech leading up this moment make me question my own sanity.
I'm not doing a deep-dive. I've talked about this a lot. But Ambessa stands up in front of the rich and powerful of Piltover and plays them like a fucking fiddle. She stokes their fear. Justifies their rage. Promises them safety. And she caps it all off with convincing them to turn over "control" (while of course taking it for herself the whole time) to a traumatized young woman in her early twenties whose ENTIRE FUCKING LIFE just got blown apart.
It isn't complicated. You just need to watch the show. As a reminder, this is Ambessa when she realizes she has won-

This right here is the best example on how this echo chamber/shit silo side of this fandom can warp someone’s mind into thinking a bunch of nonsense and then when they actually watch the show they’re like oh wait? At leas if you’re a grown adult with a working brain and not a sheep minded individual.
It’s basically Arcane season 2 and Caitlyn hate propaganda at this point.i’m so tired 😪🛌
Making people believe that Caitlyn is a ruthless tyrant and arcane season 2 is the most horribly written piece of media to ever exist. which are both lies and it’s just sad. Trying so hard to convince people. Oof!!!!

Okay, we’re doing this again.
Domestic Abuse: “We define domestic abuse as an incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive, threatening, degrading and violent behavior.”
Key words there: PATTERN of incidents. If not a pattern then the incident must contain controlling, coercive, threatening or degrading types of violent behavior.
Caitlyn trying to leave a situation where Vi is holding her back and using the butt of her gun to get Vi to release her grip and let her go isn’t a pattern of abuse. It is not threatening her. It is not controlling her. It is not coercing her. It is not degrading her. It is literally someone trying to get free from someone who is actively restricting her movements.
Fascism: “Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist political ideology and movement. Fascism rejects the view that violence is inherently negative or pointless but rather views imperialism, political violence, and war as means to national rejuvenation.”
Key word there: Philosophy. That’s a belief in the ideology. To be a fascist is to believe in the rhetoric of fascism.
So while Caitlyn was manipulated into declaring Martial Law by an actual Fascist (Ambessa), Caitlyn often REJECTS the ideology at every turn. When she is actively butting heads with Ambessa and complaining that you need “probable cause for an arrest” that is Caitlyn REJECTING Fascist Ideology. This rejection of the ideology is why she ultimately BETRAYS Ambessa. So no, Caitlyn is NOT a fascist.
Martial Law: “Martial law is typically declared in situations where civilian authorities are unable to maintain order, such as during natural disasters, civil unrest, or invasions.”
A key component of Martial Law is that it is a TEMPORARY SOLUTION to a problem, not one that is sustainable for lengthy periods of time. It’s often used in times of war or for emergencies such as civil unrest and natural disasters.
Declaring Martial Law when your government has been attacked by a terrorist is something that happens. And the key component in this situation is that the power it entails is willingly given BACK to the government once the crisis is over. Which Caitlyn DOES. Proving once again that she is not a dictator, nor a fascist.
Sexual Assault: “Sexual assault is an act of sexual abuse in which one intentionally sexually touches another person without that person's consent, or coerces or physically forces a person to engage in a sexual act against their will.”
Key words there: Lack of consent and physically forces a person to engage in sexual acts against their will.
Caitlyn sleeping with Maddie isn’t sexual assault. It’s two consenting adults having a relationship. Now while there is definitely a potential power imbalance there with Caitlyn being Maddie’s superior… that does not make this sexual assault or abuse.
Especially with the fact that it is CAITLYN who is the one refusing to engage with the unwanted sexual touch and acts that Maddie is constantly putting on her. And of course the elephant in the room is that Maddie is a Noxian spy, which means that in this situation it could be argued MADDIE is the one sexually assaulting Caitlyn, because she coerced Caitlyn to sleep with her.
WORDS MEAN THINGS. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HARD. YOU SHOULD HAVE THE MENTAL POWER TO UNDERSTAND THESE DEFINITIONS AND HOW THEY APPLY TO ARCANE.
