LORE: THETA

THETA is an Artificial Intelligence constructed by The Sightless and The Shade before the downfall of the Black Candles. It was modeled after one of their comrades after her inevitable demise, but has deviated from its purpose and has gained its own sentience. It contains a database of information on all of the Black Candles, The Firstborn, and various logs detailing the events of the Downfall. Not much is known about THETA now or its goals for the future, but it is known to have control of multiple facets of social media. Perhaps it is responsible for the consistent flow of updates on the YouTube. For now it is hiding its presence and seems to be making incredibly calculated moves.

LORE: THE PRISON

The Prison is one of the few standing buildings in a larger compound. In the early days when Hell was initially created, it was used by the Black Candles as one of their many headquarters. Though to date, it is completely decayed and rotting, overgrown and forgotten. Graffiti covers the walls as some sort of joke by The Firstborn. The Hunter frequently uses The Prison as shelter from the decaying rain, and currently has The Survivor locked in one of few remaining cells. But this place is commonly tread upon by others. Where one Candle is lit, another will always follow.

For now, Let Me In has ended. I won’t say it’s on hiatus because that implies that it will, for sure, make a return at some point. But even I don’t know if that will happen.

I’ll be focusing on a new, more straight-forward project that I can put my whole heart and soul into creating. I’m excited to begin anew with a new story.

Important Post Title Here

Hey homies, so I feel like an explanation is needed for the progression of Let Me In. There’s not going to be any actual spoilers in this post so I’m not going to Read More it, but I’ll still try not to take up too much space.

Right now, I have the end of Let Me In outlined, planned, and pretty much laid out. I’m waiting on a few props and am preparing to film a whole fuck load. However, I feel like I need to address the fact that for the most part, I am writing all of this on my own. Shooting a significant portion of the footage alone. I’ve been doing this mostly on my own since it began.

Running an entire ARG on your own is hard. I know not many people actually follow or participate in it, but I can’t stress it enough; This is hard as fuck for me. Between me having to work, being encompassed in music, and generally dealing with my own life, it’s hard to find time to sit down and plan all of this. I went into this with a mostly structured story, a built mythos and world for this story. Now that this has all been solidified, I refuse to stop until it ends how I want it to.

But please know that I am doing everything I can to finish it. There’s only so much I can do at a time, so please be patient. The end is nigh. And once it is over, keep on the lookout for some other neat LMI-related stuff.

Is Wasser Truly Prophetic?

I figure it’s really really odd to post a “theory” about your OWN series, one you know all of the answers to, but I’ve honestly been sitting on this idea for a while and nobody seems to have connected the dots yet. Since it is really out of the ordinary for me, the creator, to do something like this, I’m gonna put a Read More. Since there could be spoilers, but likely not?

Whatever, my crazy points are gonna be made beyond the Read More. Venture downwards if you dare.

So I’m sure we all know and despise Stilles Wasser, one of the main antagonists of Let Me In. He is arguably the most annoying, horrendous piece of shit in the galaxy. But I suppose being duct-taped to your room for almost an eternity would drive someone to have odd behaviors.

Since his introduction to the players, Wasser has called himself a god, Death himself, all-knowing and all-powerful. In fact, on more than one occasion, he has claimed to be prophetic, and demonstrated this by manifesting bizarre and cryptic videos. But have any of them actually come true yet?

Wasser may be incredibly annoying, but why would he boast about having such incredible power without demonstrating it? Surprisingly... he has. On several occasions. We’ve just been conditioned to think of Wasser as a blind idiot god and dismiss whatever he says as empty threats.

So, he’s stated several times before that he can see all possible outcomes. He’s uploaded several cryptic videos, rarely with any context to the events going on at the time. You would assume that he’s just flexing his eldritch muscles. But he predicted everything leading up to the current events. What exactly has he predicted, then?

Fear’s success in gaining Puppet as his permanent vessel.

Wasser uploaded a video called “CORPSES DON’T SCREAM” as a demonstration to the players of his prophetic abilities. It featured a shot of Puppet first with his head down, then grinning at the camera. Black fluids can be seen dripping down his face from his eyes and from his mouth.

Wasser later, while his view of the players was limited by Mist, uploaded “YOUARENOTHINGBUTFOOLISHPESTILENCE,” which showed Puppet in a straight-jacket with the same black fluids dripping from his eyes and mouth.

Just about the same spots, actually.

Peter then uploaded a video a while later of himself stumbling upon Puppet’s secret spot, discovering his paranoia wall, and a folder full of what appears to be the same papers seen in the very beginning of the game. But what’s stranger is that Peter glances over this...

These two images are the same as the above two, from PESTILENCE and CORPSES. Why would Puppet consider HIMSELF The Fear? The answer is, he didn’t. Quite some time after this, Puppet is forced to flee his home, and we later get a video called “confessional.”

And first off, Puppet doesn’t look too hot.

Strange how pale his face is, how he seems to have black ink around his eyes... how he needed to ask Miranda “Let me in?” How he misquoted a now vanished Black Candles post to someone who was a part of the group.

And sure enough, not maybe a week after staying with Miranda, Fear tells the players about how he brutally murders her and is now wearing Puppet’s skin like a jacket.

But that isn’t all Wasser wrote. He predicted more than just how Fear took Puppet as his vessel.

He predicted what happened to Puppet himself after “death.”

I use “death” loosely, even though every character so far has said Puppet is dead, including Puppet himself. But Wasser seems to have known exactly where Puppet would be.

Unannounced, Wasser uploaded a video called “Spreicher,” which is German for “memory.” It has quite a few shots with uncanny resemblance to more recent videos taken in Hell. Here’s a few comparisons below.

He even saw a more detailed view in another video he uploaded out of anger.

But let’s talk about “Spreicher” for a moment.

The video we see in Spreicher is absolutely impossible to watch. It flashes constantly and is so glitchy and corrupt you couldn’t make ANYTHING out. The video was irrelevant at the time of its upload. But the audio was very noteworthy.

It featured Puppet sending voicemails to an unknown recipient, talking about how “they” were staying in New Jersey and how “they” were going to be at the beach. How “they” were taking a job. And later on, “their” regret towards said job, while there was some kind of distortion going on. Then one more voicemail that was pure noise.

This is where the word “spreicher” becomes very important. Why would Wasser make a video about future events whilst referring to it as a past event? The video may be a prediction, but the audio is a “memory” that Puppet should have. Clearly the audio is Puppet calling someone else from the Black Candles.

We know Puppet was part of the Black Candles, because he told us. He told us about the night they met Fear and how he killed some of them in a fire. But then... we get this footage at the end of a very recent Wasser video. Of what appears to be a beach, no doubt the Jersey beach. But the timestamp is quite... out of place.

But Puppet is 18. He couldn’t have been around for THAT. This says 2001. Maybe Fear recorded it, but that wouldn’t make sense with what Wasser is showing us.

But then, in “repetition,” the latest video, Puppet has a breakdown. Thinking he’s not being heard, he screams about how “the fire was a lie” and that “he dragged ‘them’ into ‘this abomination.” “That was the night of atrocity, that was it!”

If we are to believe Wasser at this point, and take what he’s shown us, that means that on May 13th, 2001, Puppet and the Black Candles were in New Jersey. Their “job” took a turn for the worst. And instead of a fire, the Night of Atrocity occurred. Puppet was the only one to escape. And according to what Puppet said in “repetition,” he’s in the same place now as he was then, as well as the only remaining Black Candles member as of current.

And if that’s true, then how old really is Puppet? How reliable is Puppet at this point? Is Wasser, the one being who we all thought was just verbally intimidating us, trying to tell us something about the one person we’re protecting just because he’s our friend? Because clearly, he lied about his entire history. And the players all know exactly how prone to lying about his history he is.

In conclusion, Wasser predicted Fear’s taking of Puppet’s body, what happened to Puppet in a completely different dimension, and may have been trying to low-key tell us he’s a lying son of a bitch who we should have never trusted.

PSA: New Computer, New Videos, And New Start

Good morning/evening/afternoon, friends.

I wanted to make a quick update following some new occurrences in my life that would definitely have some impact on Let Me In.

I’ve been making music with my lovely friends and bandmates and there’s been a lot of shows going on. I’m finally at a place in my life where I’m doing something I’ve always wanted to do. I don’t know how long it’ll take me to make videos, but I plan on seeing it out to the end, no matter where we are.

NOW ONTO LEGIT LET ME IN BUSINESS!

As I’m sure many of you have noticed, the number of videos on the main channel has fallen from 60+ to 3. This was on purpose. In a manner of speaking, Let Me In has changed and hopefully for the better. I noticed that the story was beginning to become a chat-progressive roleplaying game more than an alternate reality game. I felt like if I wanted ANYTHING done in the story, it had to be through character narrative based solely around the Skype chat or Tinychat, whichever was more common at the time.

And I loved it. I loved getting to become these characters and talk to everyone through a different, unique set of eyes (sometimes more literally than others). I loved being as dumb and clueless as Peter, I loved being as sadistic and fucked up as Veins, I loved being the disgusting, grotesque two-faced monster that is Wasser.

Only after all of this engaging activity was deeply rooted did I notice that none of the videos made any sense. I watched them all consecutively, and it was a jumbled mess of events. Granted, I knew what was missing in between videos, but to anyone who has access only to the videos, it made no REAL sense. And that led to another problem.

The logs. Dear fucking god, the logs. Starling spent so much time copying, pasting, and correctly labeling the logs. So much so that I had to help her by labeling the characters from the bottom while she scrolled down from the top. It was an absolute nightmare. I dreaded those fucking logs. It made me realize that even if someone wanted to get into Let Me In, they would have to go through all of that text, actually read it and interpret it.

So I made a decision. After I let the events that transpired happen, and everyone had a decent chance to see it, I uploaded “noentry” and hid all of the original videos. I vowed to make a narrative that was told through the camera, not through text that only so many people would get a chance to see.

I have all of the videos unlisted and in a playlist, which includes some of the player made responses and rituals as well. But it’s time I finish Let Me In on a note that everyone can understand.

I’ve received a new computer and I have better editing software, so I’ll hopefully be able to make some nicer quality videos.

I’ll also be doing a podcast at some point with some of the other people responsible for Let Me In, and while I don’t have a date, I’ll post it all over every social media I have until everyone sees it. I’ll post all of the relevant links mentioned before below.

I just thought it was completely necessary to point out, since it is a very easily overlooked point in Let Me In, that yes... The one thought ebbing at your mind, I will dispel here and now. C8 and Puppet were ABSOLUTELY, most DEFINITELY a thing. Love knows no bounds.

What do we know?

With Let Me In’s story about to hit climax, we should reflect upon where and what the rest of the cast is doing. There’s been radio silence on most ends, and only Puppet seems to be (unknowingly) posting videos. So that begs the important questions…

Where is everyone else?

Peter seems to be on the hunt for Fear. Veins and his vessel are somewhere on Earth Tragedy seems to be attached to his hip. Scratch is somewhere in the Livid. Wasser has been silently going even crazier than he already is. Schimmel seems to be somewhere on Earth, as he had contact with Puppet. The Fear is Pennsylvania’s newest rampaging serial killer. Cheshire is most likely watching from behind the fourth wall. Mist’s Bishops are around. Somewhere. Edge and THETA are totally MIA. Puppet seems to have been thrust into an obviously fake world. And The King still does not give a single fuck.

Any activity we missed due to the radio silence?

Peter has been increasingly active on his Twitter. A rampant AI has taken over the original Black Candles tumblr blog.

What the hell is going on?

I guess we’ll have to wait and see… =)

Let Me In & “Project R”

Hey there, everyone, Puppet here. I’ve got a bit of news and such for you.

There’s been a few complications in my life that have prevented me from doing a lot with Let Me In. Like being in a band, constantly writing music and playing a show almost every month. And recent oral surgery I just had. (which forgive me if this whole letter seems very strangely written, I promise it is i; Puppet.)

This means that I’ll have to rewrite Let Me In a bit to best fit its ending, and this is already in the progress. “noentry” was not even supposed to be part of the plot, but it best fits the next segment of Let Me In. Something you guys aren’t ready to comprehend yet.

While I know saying “end of Let Me In” and “next segment of Let Me In” sounds a little weird, you’ll just have to trust me that LMI will not be dead, but reborn. We have to make room for new characters, flesh out the living ones, and actually write a consistent plot for... “Project R.”

There’s been a few clues for Project R around, even in this blog. I’ve probably said too much already, but to recap!
