A Horror Weekend
Note: I already finished this Post hours ago but accidentally deleted it. Here I go again
I am about to end my AuPair year! After Christmas, I am going to stay in Germany. On the 5th September it began and at the 19th December it will end
What happened?
A long story short, I had to babysit all my three Host children for a bit more than 5 days. My Children are 3, 5 and 7. I can imagine that you would say ‘‘Parents do that all day, 24/7? What are you talking about? ‘‘ but there is the Thing! ParentS! Two people who know their children and the two people the children are, almost always, listening to.
Here is the problem. My children are not listening to me and I felt overwhelmed by the responsibility because I’m the one to blame if something goes wrong. Furthermore, there have been some other smaller incidents that really annoyed. Moreover, I was almost all the time on my own. The only help I had was from the grandparents who brought them to school in the Morning. I woke up at 6:20. Then, I had to wake them up, make breakfast and get them ready for school (School uniform, hair etc.). Afterward, when the two older kids went to school I took the youngest to the nursery, then cleaned the house a bit and thought about the meal plan. After all that, I picked up the two kids from school at 15:15. We took the Bus home. Together with them, we picked up the youngest and then walked home. There I had to prepare dinner, do homework with them, teach them their spelling words and I had to bring them to bed. After that I was cleaning the house again then I cloud go to bed.
After all, I was pretty exhausted and due to the Kids behaver which wasn’t really good, I felt that exhausted that I settled my decision. I can’t stay here.
The bigger task lays now in front off me :D
What Am I Going To Do Now? Studying or something else?  We’ll see and I will keep you (the one person who is maybe reading this) updated.

Snow
At the moment my kids have holidays, which means I have more to do but luckily today is my day off.
What did I do the last few days?
Well...
We spend the last few days in Aviemore and that was quite good but the thing about Aviemore is that it is really small. Because of the October Holidays, I had to work with the kids the whole day. that can be really exhausting. I just saw a small part of Aviemore because of that. Furthermore, we were staying there in a house a bit far off that is why I couldn‘t just walk into town and one night it started to snow. Everything was covered in snow. I couldn’t been in a better mood than that day. I love snow! Therefore, I just saw parts of a really beautiful forest, river but also, of course, Kids indoor playgrounds.
I don‘t know if it is just me but Indoor playgrounds give me the creeps. They aren‘t a thing in Germany and I can not remember going there when I was a child. I mean you stay there indoor with a whole bunch of children, it is loud, stuffy, the food isn’t really good and you have to pay a lot.
And one day we went to this playground and it was really strange. The whole room was a mess. The pencils were rubbish, they didn’t have good paper, the tape wasn’t sticky and it was really warm ... What they had was two big TVs and an Xbox but the Games for it were totally wasted. There was one CD (The Game: Rayman Legends) I could literally see through the CD because it was so scratched. We stayed there for 3-4 hours.
The kids kinda liked it, but still, they were fighting every day and I am so glad to be back in Aberdeen.

Everyday Life
Since my arrival, some time passed and I got a bit more used to being an AuPair. My everyday life :
I get up at 7:00 am then I get myself ready and start my day. I help to make Breakfast. Afterward, I’m clearing the Table, put on the dishwasher and then I bring the youngest one to the nursery. After that, I have some free time but sometimes I do some Ironing during that time.
In the afternoon I pick up the two older ones from School, at 3:15 pm. Then I bring them home in the Bus and prepare them a snack. I watch them for a few hours and help with their homework. Later, their Mom comes back and prepares the dinner. I help as much as I can.
My Sunday are my days off.
Occasionally I’m babysitting in the evening, on Saturdays for example.
Overall, I like my everyday life and hope it continues like this :D

A journey begins :D A German Girl sharing her experinces.

Entry #1 First thoughts!
On the 5th September 2018, it began!
I started my AuPair year in Scotland. It’s been a month since then. What have I experienced? How is my host family?
5th September: At 2:00 pm my Airplane departure from Düsseldorf and with one little stop in London I arrive in Scotland later that day around 7:00 pm.
My first days were super intense because only 3 days after I arrived my host family hosted a big Birthday party for my host father. That was a bit strange because I hadn’t enough time to settle in but I already met the hole Familie plus the 2 former AuPairs and everything I was thinking was ‘can somebody help me?’.
I was literally lost!
Lucky me, we had an AuPair meeting the same day. We shared a lot. Some of them already arrived a while ago. Therefore, they could help me and the other newbies :D After that meeting I felt much better and I could really enjoy the Party.
The next days I slowly started to get to know the Children, the Parents, the House, and daily routines. Now and then it was a bit difficult to know what they would expect of me and I think sometimes it still is but it is getting better.
